During a 2022 visit to Bombay, I was introduced to "13 Things Mentally Strong People Don't Do". Amidst a sea of enticing titles, I found myself torn between this and Leil Lowndes' "How to Talk to Anyone". On that day, I gravitated towards Lowndes, leaving Morin's insights for another day.

Revisiting "13 Things" later, Amy Morin's distinct perspective on what 'NOT' to do in life offered a breath of fresh air in the saturated self-help realm. It's a genre that showcases myriad ways to navigate life's challenges. What's enchanting about self-help is its ability to offer multifarious solutions to problems; some solutions resonate immediately, while others lie dormant, waiting for the right moment. As Steve Jobs once eloquently put it, "You can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backward."

Chapter 12 on entitlement struck a chord, drawing unexpected parallels to my song, 'Kuch Khas Nahi Hai Tum Mein'. This alignment between a written chapter and my own creative expression was profound. If you're on a journey of introspection, or simply keen on understanding the diverse facets of self-awareness, "13 Things" might be the companion you've been waiting for.
