What did I just read
I am a sucker for End of the World stories and really enjoyed the first “book” of this series.
**SPOILERS AHEAD**
By the third time Sarah was kidnapped by a gang trying to traffic her, or Spencer went full Rambo (while wearing a Ghost mask from Call of Duty), I honestly had to question why I even started reading this book to begin with. It’s seemed like the author had a hard-on for seeing how much bullshit he could throw at the main characters and then would throw something else at them.
I feel like this book series was like the old Stefan skits on SNL: Dead spouse, we have that in spades! We also have a dead child. OH!! Don’t forget the abusive husband and traumatized child. Not one, not two, not three, but FOUR different groups trying to traffic women. AND let’s sprinkle a spec-ops stalker on the top for some flavor.
I have never hate-read a book as hard as I did the last two thirds of this one, SOLEY so I could write a review of it.
I would almost recommend this to someone just to see if it was a fever dream or not.

Nope
Dogs do not groan every time they make a noise. Coffee is not torrid ever. Every strand of hair in the world is not wiry. And verdure? Really? I could have enjoyed the story. For the first time in a long while I will not finish a series. The author should have stuck with words he actually knew the meaning of.

Gripping

We read (listen to) a lot of apoplectic book series. This was the first that we almost didn't make it through because it was written so poorly. Characters consistently made unrealistic choices, geography (a harrowing drive from Luray, VA to Boston with a life threatening stop in Philly but not even a mention of DC, Baltimore and NYC?!?) and chronology (sometimes minutes from one place to another) were non-existent. Not to mention that one character's gunshot wound was left basically untended for the entire journey because they would get care when they reached Boston. If characters backgrounds were disclosed, it was in brief passing. Never knew what Sarah did before "the fall."
If you are looking for a good end-of-the-world-as-we-know-it series, try one by Kyla Stone.

I thought this series was about surviving the fall... Instead, it is about sex traffic and police drama... There were times when I considered dropping out but I finished the entire series to my displeasure... If you are looking for apocalyptic stories, this one isn't it... I wasted my time reading this... Hopefully, you won't feel the same way if you do...

It was just okay. I liked the storyline but found it a little unrealistic to believe. For instance, one character survives a plane crash and then is minimally slowed down. Also, I found the repetition of certain words like ‘piece’ and ‘maw’ distracting. It would have been better if the author would have alternated with other realistically common words. Lastly, I felt the author did a good job building the plot but then rushed the ending. We never find out what happened to Clyde. And, the fact there are still bad people after them is not addressed a year later either. My final takeaway is-it was enjoyable enough to read until the last couple of chapters, even with the unbelievable story events and repetitious word usage. However, I was so disappointed with the ending of the story, I was almost angry I spent so much time reading it.

Survive the Fall, But Not the Books
I read the entire first book and absorbed the punishment of a good story just hammered by mistakes in grammar and word use (busted instead of burst, the homely man instead of homeless, etc.) and military jargon used by characters with no military background.
To be perfectly straightforward, the story framework was good and the story interesting. A good editing could make this group of short books into something worth reading. But when the end of the first book and beginning of the second started allowing use of vehicles, seemingly just for the benefit of the main characters or their antagonists, I gave up.
I can't recommend this series.

A crazy ride
I am exhausted. I started this series and have been reading almost non stop. I could not rest until I finished. From the beginning I was hooked. There was non stop action all through the books. The story of what happened to Sarah and Russell made me feel for them. Both of them handled thongs differently but pulled away from their marriage. As each new obstacle was thrust at them individually they continued to transform from victim to survivor. It was hard to see what they had to do to survive and find their way back together again. Great story.

Thrilling, exciting, adventurous
This book has well defined characters, intrigue, love, loss and excitement every page is a thrill and you want to know if they survive or don’t survive if justice can be served or if there is any justice at all. This book will keep you on the edge of your fingers waiting to find the next thrilling adventure, every book is worth the hours minutes and seconds that you spend on reading and getting in depth with the characters plots and adventures

All 5 of these books are all winners. Derek is a very good writer and this set is more than a binge set.
Don't start till you have plenty of time. Good plot that keeps you interested through all 5 books.
Some really great characters and with the first book you will get a lot of information about them and after that you will be choosing who survives and who does not.

Gangsters and Deplorables
This series chronicles the lives of Sarah and Russell Gage, a couple who are separated following the death of their only child during a home invasion a year earlier. Characters and world building are both well developed and the dual storyline kept me engaged.

Scary WOW!
This is a story of heart shattering tragedy and the endurance of Love in the midst of a world gone crazy. A true picture of the hell we could all be in one day and what it truly takes to survive. It doesn’t paint a pretty picture, only the true reality of life when SHTF! Really Great read!

A flawed series
This is an exciting, though flawed series. The characters are stereotypical of adventure works: capable Amazonian females and tough Creole men. Grammar, diction, and garage are a distraction. Finally, are we supposed to accept that current highly electronic autos will work after an EMP? Such an anachronism doesn't really work, except in romances.

This is not a novel about survivin the apocalypse. If that is what you are looking for, this is not the book for you. If you are look for a thriller, then it is pretty good. The story is good and kept me interested, but this is not novel about surviving the apocalypse in any way shape or form. The event just made the crime harder to resolve.

Good story,BUT
The author started out with a good plot, but it became irritating and frustrating to read due to all the spelling, grammar and misuse of words. I often had to reread paragraphs to get their gist. He has a bad habit of overusing some words, misusing others and using descriptions that are unclear when simple, more common ones would be better and more accurate.

I am always up to read a good apocalyptic survival novel, and have been reading them for years now. I started reading this one and didn't want to put it down . Russell, the unlikely hero of his own life and Sarah his wife are believable characters. Tragedy marks their past and what transpired keeps you guessing to the end

Survive the Fall was a very exciting series from the start to the end. The characters were strong and likeable and the continuing plot was thrilling and tense. Highly recommend this boxed set, well worth the read.

A Page Turner!
Love, love, love this series. It is a must read for anyone who enjoys a good post apocalyptic story. The action just kept on coming and coming. If you’re up for it, get this one for sure!

Great read
It has taken me longer to read this series than any other and that is because every single page was filled with intensity. I had to take breaks to unclench my jaw. I was not disappointed in this book at all.

Hang on!
I'm a big fan of anything Derek Shupert and love series books. This series was a fast paced series that I didn't want to end.

Survival
This box set of this series is great. I loved having all the books in one set.
The story was really good. The situations the characters faced was harrowing. So many positive things to say. The storyline is gripping and held my interest right to the very end.

Surviving the Apocalypse
Comparing this to the many others I've read, I found it contained far to much violence and not nearly enough survival skills. The characters were well developed and the locations were very descriptive.

Having read a lot of “Prepper, Survival, End of Days” books the story’s start to blur after a bit. This one was a bit different with issues of addiction and survival. I could not give it more than 3 stars as I really hate when something that could be one book is cut up into multiple books.

Great adventure
If you are expecting just another apocalyptic story , you are in for a big surprise. From the moment the book begins with an ECP that takes down the power grid to the last pages, you will find yourself involved in a dramatic ßtoryline.

Enjoyable
A little too wordy ! Extreme use of adjectives So that it sometimes felt like we were in it we were Count contest for the book. I was a little bit surprised that Rick Play a more Important role. I really expected him to "be the bad guy."

Definitely worth the read!
Incredible storyline with an added twist. I couldn't
help but to wonder what I would do if I was in the same situation. The things I would buy to stock my pantry. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.

Russel’s story line was good however Sarah’s storyline was horrible. Everyone wanted to traffic her. Three gangs all trying to get to her while a fourth man kidnapped her from the three gangs because he was infatuated. Also the ending leaves you hanging on what happened to two of the characters.
