An Awesome Sequel Better Than The First. This book picks up straight after the first. Ember, Xander and Will have been banished to the Outside. They very quickly smuggle themselves back into Tranquility but not with a couple of sacrifices and Will gets caught and imprisoned by the Magistrate where he immediately sets on testing his loyalty through manipulation and torture. Meanwhile Ember and Xander, after a little accident, regroup in the Plauditorium with the rest of the REMs and the captured Plauditors and they set about plotting their rebellion to take down the Magistrate. Meanwhile Ember learns some startling discoveries about her new powers and her family history that see’s her and Xander going out into the Outside again and trekking across the treacherous wilderness to hunt for something or someone that could help them with overthrowing the evil Magistrate. But with Xander and Ember’s relationship blossoming, Will’s apparent switch to the other side and Tranquility’s sinister police force wherever they turn will they survive the literal fight to the death? You will have to read to find out. This is a genuinely nail biting and awesome read with suspense, twists and action galore. One of the best books I’ve read this year and will definitely be reading the third book soon so see what happens after the dramatic cliffhanger of this book.

In Book 1 of the Tranquility Series (Rising Up) author Tanya Ross introduced us to the chilling concept of a dystopian world where emotions are monitored by a device called the “Alt.”
Ms. Ross’ second volume in the series, Facing Off, continues with that premise, and is filled with new adventures and mind-boggling revelations in a volume nearly twice the size and literary depth as the first. Facing Off is jam-packed with action, conflict, romance and mystery, as well as a ton of new and innovative characters. The same residents of Tranquility that we met in the first book are there in full-force--stronger, more bewildering, more beautiful, or more menacing than ever.
As the intrigue and action in this novel progressed, I imagined that if I were wearing my own personal Alt, the readings on it would be constantly spiking or plummeting with every twist and turn of the story. By the time I reached the end of Facing Off, my internal Alt score was sky-rocketing, only to register shock as I reached the last sentence in this volume. The only thing that will raise this reader’s Alt score is when the author comes up with a third installment of the Tranquility Series. Tanya Ross, bring it on!

She’s done it again! I couldn’t wait to read Facing Off, the second book in Tanya’s Tranquility series. The first one lured me in so absolutely I became immersed in their struggle and had to find out what happens to the amazing characters I’d come to know so well I felt like I knew them; or at least wanted to. And it took me on another head spinning ride full of twists and turns….some I saw coming, most I did not. And that’s no easy feat; what an imagination! So here I am again, anxious to find out what happens next. My only question is; when do I get to read the next one?! Can you hurry it up please?

'Facing Off' by author Tanya Ross is a Dystopian tale, thoughtfully written with well crafted characters.
The World building in this book is outstanding, with established laws that extend into the carefully defined culture with a history and mythology that provide a satisfying and believable worldview.
Descriptions are deep and rich, playing on this reader's sentiment so that I became immersed in the drama of events, as I have done in both books of this series.
The plot is fast-paced with a lot at stake and the struggle seems real. I enjoyed the story and strongly recommend the book for all ages.

In Book Two of the Tranquility Series, Tanya Ross really found her flow, and I couldn't stop turning the 545 pages at the expense of my daily obligations. The evil characters get more evil and the heroic characters get more . . . heroic and confusing and sometimes inconsistent. Every time I thought the Revolution gained advantage, another unhappy moment. Secret journals, secret tunnels, secret love affairs, secret lives . . . this series has it all. I'm waiting for Book 3, Tanya . . . really? You're going to leave me hanging right there . . . on those ending words?

Fantastic follow up
As with book 1, Rising Up, the world building and character development is phenomenal. This action packed,fast paced read had me gripped by the shoulders and wouldnt let me go until I finished. I plan to get my hands on the next installment as soon as I can. I would highly recommend any fan of dystopian Fiction.

Great Read!
Tanya Ross has given us a great read. Non stop action carries through a well written storyline. The main characters Will, Ember,and Zander and Wee were easy to connect with and played off well with each other. Full of twists and turns I really enjoyed this book. I highly recommend!

This is my second read from this author, and like the first, it does not disappoint! I love the character development and the continuation of the story. I love how fast paced this read is, and all of the twists and turns... I believe I heard a third book is in the works, and if that is true, I cannot wait for more!

Amazing Read
I loved reading this book, though I haven't read the first book, the book started with a grip and the author has done an amazing job in her book. I think I have to read the first book in this series! I’m really looking forward to book 3.
