This book is so good. The characters are super cool. Beware tho, this author knows how to kill characters and throw plot twists. But it was super fun to read! Highly recommend.
SO, written from an author so young, this was quite impressive. The story rounded itself out in a satisfying way, every little detail was accounted for, and I could tell that Kaitlynn put a lot of thought and care into this story. I do think that some structural editing would’ve served this book well, because the pacing was off in some spots, and I wish the story itself and certain side-characters, like Owen and Raven, were further developed. I think the Charge could’ve also been explored further—there’s so much you can do with a neurological implant, and I wasn’t sure why it was such a bad thing (for a dystopian book’s sake) until the ending, so November’s motivation felt a little forced at times. This all goes to say that these are just minor things in a book that literally gripped me from the start. Kaitlynn has so much potential and I can’t wait to see where she goes with her writing journey!
