Plenty of characters appeared from a previous series by this author and I had no idea who they were or their backstories.
The heroine frustrated me with her annoying behaviour, and she was the main reason I couldn’t enjoy this story. The hero was more likeable than her, yet they both had a lot of drama in their lives and didn’t excite me at all.
I don’t think I will read the next part.

Matthew is hot. He is the type of hero who is dark and brooding. I like the hot chemistry between Layla and Matthew. Miss Summers nails it with sizzling hot sex.

The plot of secret and betrayal is a promised. It is a hell of a ride.

Really enjoyed this book. I love the hero and how sweet he is to the heroine too. I did have an issue with Layla though. She kept talking about how judgemental her family is towards her and everything, and what does she do to the hero at every detail of his past? She judges him and then acts like he's the enemy. I do understand some of her convictions such as after what she did in the previous book, and how they may think she's a traitor again, but at the same time, Matthew has shown time and time again he will never harm her and does truly care for her. She definitely got annoying with her back and forth. I also didn't care for the mentions of Grace (his ex-gf, but thankfully it was years ago), and I didn't care for their exhibitionism in front of the hotel staff. That was a bit creepy for me 🙃 but overall, still a great continuation in this mafia world.

the story is nothing special, but i must be ovulating because the H has me...🤰🤰 hes got being THE obsessive H in the bag. i even appreciated how difficult & annoying the h could be because it just made the H more persistent to win her over, which in turn made him more endearing. 🥰 i thought it was rather tame & sweet for a “mafia” romance considering the H was always so patient & understanding towards the h or let things progress in her own pace; but then you get to the end and find out just how sneaky & cunning hes been. 😈 i managed to guess the plot twist about his true identity before the reveal, but i didnt realise how far he went to “possess” the h lol. the cliffhanger has me excited for the sequel. i want more intrigue & action! also, the h is a single mother. this side of her isnt shown much in this book, but i hope it will in the next one. lesgoo book 2! 💃

This book is magic. Not only in the awe it inspires, but in the illusion it creates. My mind was blown as I devoured this book.
Eden spins from her Hunting Her series and brings a whole new cast of captivating and dangerous characters—while also giving us a glimpse of our favorites from previous books. I was completely seduced by Matthew and enthralled with his and Layla’s story, so far. This is a long book, and yet, still not long enough. I need more.
There is a lot to unpack and I cannot wait to see how Eden carries Matthew and Layla through the trials they face as a couple and the inevitable perils of their lifestyles. For now, be prepared for the abracadabra and the wave of Eden’s wand as she starts this journey with a huge bang!

Brilliantly written first novel in this spin off from Eden Summers Hunting Her series. The characters are interesting and well developed and the plot is a work of art. The author draws you in from the start and although this is a fairly long novel I found myself engrossed in it's pages and completely lost to the world Eden has created. Layla is Torian Cole's sister and if you've read the Hunting Her Series you know here tragic backstory. Matthew meanwhile is new to us but will worm his way under your skin.
5 stars for an amazing novel I can't wait to see how this series progresses.

Eden Summers has taken her Hunting Her series and takes Seeking Vengeance to the next level of hunting! If we thought Luther Torian was bad pull up a chair and wait until you find out how mad Emmanuel Costa is.

Two years have passed since we last got to visit with the characters we became so attached to in Eden Summers Hunting Her series. She has brought readers into this new Hunting series with Layla (Hart) nee Torian out for revenge against The Costa Family. They had taken Stella (Layla’s daughter) and Tobias (stepbrother) hostage and although the children were rescued, her husband Benji was dead.

Layla is now on a mission do destroy the Costa family. In the process she meets Matthew Langston a man who with words and touch alone can make her feel things she hasn’t felt for years. Things that make her feel whole again and when the truth is learned things that put her life in danger.

Seeking Vengeance is an emotional story, history is recapped, feelings flow freely and the combustion between Layla and Matthew can be described as steam that builds and builds until an eruption occurs. There are lies on both sides and when everything comes to light, confrontation and danger are the cards that have been dealt. The twists and turns keep readers on their toes and the ending leaves everyone wondering if there will be one victor or will lives change and hearts mend.

There is one line in this book that gives a good description not just that moment but also much of the story “We became a long line of temperamental fuckery.” It will make sense when you see it but it describes the chaos and drama that has you turning the pages, whispering to Layla “what are you doing girl” and shaking your head over and over again.

Seeking Vengeance is 10 Star worthy, possibly her best work yet!

This is a spin off from the Hunting Her series and we see past characters feature here.
Two worlds are about to cillide when Layla and Matthew meet. They unexpectantly meet when they are both doing recon on a family that has burnt them both in the past. Matthew is ruthess, dominant and possessive the moment he lays eyes on Layla and sets out to do whatever he can to make sure they meet again. Layla tries to stay away from Matthew but their chemistry is just too hard to ignore. The longer they are together the more secrets starts to unravel and hidden pasts start to rear their ugly head which could put Matthew and Layla in danger.

I loved this story between Matthew and Layla and cannot wait to see how their story continues in Ruthless Redmption, Eden you definitely hit it out of the ball park with this one.

Seeking Vengeance was a steamy, emotional thrill-ride! I was immediately drawn into the story. And to say I'll be impatiently awaiting the next installment might just be the understatement of 2021 so far. (as it relates to my reading anyway ;))

Layla wants to be enough. As the daughter of a crime lord, she feels tainted by her family's business. Then there's the guilt she feels over a family betrayal that shouldn't be held against her, yet is. And she's paid the unthinkable price. Her family despises her and she's seeking vengeance as well as redemption.

Matthew is rather an enigma. He holds his cards close to his chest - except for his feelings for Layla. His life experiences have shown him no mercy so he knows what a gift Layla is. From the moment he sets eyes on her he's determined to make her believe in herself.

Their romance seems destined for trouble from the beginning seeing as Layla doesn't want to trust Matthew with details about herself, her family, or her heart. Matthew also is reluctant to be transparent. But they seem to know the important things about each other. Is it enough? Matthew seems hell-bent on being seems as who he see himself being - trustworthy, loyal, and loving. Layla wants to believe in him but she fears making yet another mistake that her family would make atone for.

Seeking Vengeance was deftly executed, drawing me in, ensuring I was invested in the characters, their lives, and their relationship dynamics. The mafia element was subtle until it wasn't but it was well done. And ESummers threw so many curve balls at me I was gasping and flipping through the pages as quickly as I could.

That ending was also unexpected and definitely jaw-dropping. I hope I don't have to wait too long for the next installment. Seriously. However, I know ESummers will make it worth the wait.

5 STARS!!!!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 I didn’t think I could love this series more!!! Oh my gosh!!! I have to admit I wasn’t a fan of Layla at all in the other books!! This whole storytelling changes my mind and blew that old opinion out of the freakin water!! I will say I’m glad I read all the other books because otherwise I don’t think I could appreciate this killer story as good!! Matthew/Dante is so well written. I love his commitment and possessiveness! I live for it 💯!! This is one of my top reads this year for 2021 and I’ve already read over 200, this year alone. Even though it ended in a cliffhanger I still had a little closure at the end of the book. And the story continues… I for one can’t f*ing wait!!

Overall right, i loved the book or at least the first 60%.
But Layla is the most annoying character ever💀
She kept secrets the whole way through the book but was then angry, wanting to run away, when she found out what Dante had been hiding. Stupid rat. Like towards the end when Dante’s brothers were coming after her and she didn’t immediately go with Dante to safety just bc she was mad over what he hadn’t told her. EVEN THOUGH SHE DIDN’T TELL HIM ANYTHING ABOUT HER PAST. Talk about hypocritical🙄
I loved Dante. So sweet yet possessive. Tbis would’ve been rated much higher if it was based on him😋🫦
I’ll be reading the next one but only so I can get to Bishop’s book🤌

Wow.... didn't think Eden could make me love anyone more than Cole.
I was wrong Matthew has smashed his way into my heart and torn it apart.
I finally understood Layla and her relationship with Mathew was feisty and full of Sparks.

What a fantastic, sexy, and suspenseful read! Having read this author’s Hunting Her series I honestly wasn’t sure that I would like Layla. However the author has created a heroine that is strong, perfectly flawed, and lovable. Her backstory is heartbreaking and her quest for vengeance was understandable. Matthew is just plain scrumptious. His is confident in his power of seduction and he has definitely set his sights on Layla. As a couple, these two have magnetic chemistry but they are both harboring secrets. Secrets and lies that can destroy their relationship.

Seeking Vengeance is a fast paced novel full of steam, drama, romance, suspense, and action. This book kept me on the edge of my seat with all of its clever twists and turns. The character development was impeccable while the story was gripping and interesting.

This book does end in a cliffhanger and as such, I cannot wait for the next book as I need to know what happens! Seeking Vengeance is book 1 in a series that is a spin off of The Hunting Her series. I strongly recommend reading that series first for the full experience as there is some character overlap and overarching storylines. If you love romantic suspenses and have enjoyed this author’s previous works, then you will enjoy this book!

Omg what a book.
This was a new to me author who I've been meaning to read for a while, and I'm so glad I picked this one. I am kicking myself for not reading her sooner though.
This was non stop action from cover to cover and I actually found myself having to put it down at times as I was racing through it far too fast, and although I was eager to get answers I didn't want to miss a second.
Readers will adore both the characters and plot, and I haven't been shocked by twists like that in a while.
Can't actually say much on either as don't want to ruin anything but I will say that I'm eagerly awaiting to see what the author comes up with next.

Matthew was such an enigmatic character. his strength and dominance drew me to him, yet his soft, tender, and protective nature toward Layla had my heart melting. I loved the chemistry and heat between them, but what would happen when their secrets were divulged? Would they be able to survive the depths of the truths that were hidden?

SEEKING VENGEANCE was a brilliant read from beginning to end. It had many twists and turns along the way, one that had my jaw dropping. Tension is rife throughout, but so was the underlying love story that was slowly developing. This is a real thrill ride involving Mafia dealings, violent interactions, and seductive moments between two people who just want some peace and happiness in their lives. After reaching the ending, one that completely surprised me, I'm dying for the next installment, Ruthless Redemption.

A top read for 2021 ... and I need soooo much more.

Wow, what an exciting, emotional, and sexy romance! I loved Summers Hunting Her series and this is a great start to her new spin-off series from that. We get to catch up with Cole's sister Layla two years after her heartbreaking loss. She is still reeling from her poor decisions and feeling like a pariah with her family. She has plans to make amends but is intercepted by a tall, dark, and sexy stranger. He is charming, yet dangerous but she can't stop thinking about him. Matthew is intrigued by the beautiful, cunning woman who seems to have the same goals as he does. They are drawn to each other even with the many secrets they hold between them. Those secrets put both their lives, and those close to them, at risk, but that only makes their fiery passion burn even hotter. Will these star-crossed lovers survive when some secrets are too cruel to live with? My heart hurt for both Layla and Matthew. They are from different sides of the country, yet lived the same kind of lives, traveled the same heartrending paths, destined to bring them together. This is a thrilling and seductive rollercoaster ride of emotion. This fast paced story, with all of it's twists and turns as secrets are revealed, is so riveting, it takes your breath away. There were some things I guessed and others that left me stunned. The ending took me by surprise and I can't wait to find out what happens next in Ruthless Redemption.

I unfortunately missed three books since I read Torian a while ago so was a bit lost when I picked up this one, but quickly caught on to how these characters were related to the ones in the previous books. I was immediately captivated by this story with the intrigue, mystery and danger it hinted at in the first few pages and yeah, though it was a longer than usual romance book it was impossible to put down until the end or should I say the edge of your seat cliffhanger that Eden left us with!

Though it has been a while since I read anything from Eden she is certainly still on her game if not better than before. She is an incredible story teller who can weave an incredibly sexy love story against a brutal unforgiving mafia background. I totally felt sorry for Layla who seems to always be the brunt of her brother's anger and frustration no matter what she does, and this lady has made some bad mistakes in the past.

Her plan to take revenge over an opposing mafia family who have murdered members of her own shows Layla's determination but maybe also her stupidity opening herself up to so much danger and also endangering the life of her daughter, and the last thing she expects to come out of this is to meet a man who will bring her to her knees and make her feel more alive than she ever has. Despite his sweet words and their explosive chemistry she knows that she has to get away from him before he finds out who she really is so that she does not put him in danger.

This story is absolutely brilliant in it's twists and turns and it's totally unexpected ending and my heart was definitely pounding in parts. If the second part of this story is as good as the first it could make an excellent movie. This is a definite not to be missed book!

Layla has been patiently waiting for the right time to atone for the mistakes of the past and get her vengeance against those who were responsible for so much pain and hurt. She has been methodical in her pursuit as any misjudgment could have deadly consequences and it is her need for knowledge that brings Matthew into her life.

Matthew is a man who has his own agenda and can’t afford to be distracted from his end game but Layla intrigues him unlike anyone else. He knows that there is so much more about her that he doesn’t know but he also has secrets of his own, so you know you are in for a bumpy ride.

The characters are deep and compelling, the plot is filled with surprises, the suspense keeps you on edge and leaves you wanting more of Layla, Matthew and their story

This is the first book I have read by this Author and would definitely recommend her. This is the story of Layla and Mathew . When Mathew catches Layla spying on her enemy she doesn't realise that he will claim her but also help her.
This book has everything you could want in a mafia Romance with the man keeping his woman at all costs.
If you have not read a mafia Romance give this one a try I think you will be surprised and pleased with the story .

Layla & Matthew's story sucked me and and did not let go !! Its 3am and if just finished it and WOW I am reminded how much I love this author !!! Man this book was so good and made me see another side of Layla ! I can not wait for the next book , I NEED it NOW !!! If I could give it more then 5 stars I would ! Totally recommend this book and this author ,I promise so worth reading !!!!

I wanted to read Matthew's story after reading Remy. It was okay. Of course, since I read Remy first, there are spoilers for this one, but I was good with that. Matthew is a great H. He was balls to the wall for his woman. Layla never really returned the favor.

But I was obsessed with the crumbs of Remy's appearances more than anything anyway.

This book is PHENOMENAL!! brilliant writing as per normal by Eden! I love the way she bought the relationship between Layla and Matthew to life, not to mention all the plot twists that you don’t see coming! Looking forward to the next book!
