The one that got away… Old hurts that aren’t easily forgiven… And a second chance at love...⠀ Sinn Ashland never thought she’d lay eyes on Jaxon Elliott after the disastrous end to their romance six years ago. Yet, there they were, three months into a committed relationship. Sinn had grown from the immature young woman she’d been back then, but her previous selfish actions and careless words left scars on Jaxon’s heart that weren’t as easily forgiven as they thought. When he pulls away, Sinn knows it’s time to go all in and show Jaxon that he could trust her with his heart. It was her turn to fight for the man she’d foolishly walked away from six years ago and convince him they deserved a second chance at love…
K. Lashaun is an adult contemporary author born and raised in the great state of Alabama. Her start in writing followed the typical blueprint for most authors - consuming an insane amount of books at an early age before turning that love of reading into a knack for story telling.
She enjoys crafting imperfect - unapologetically black - love stories.
Sinn & Jaxon finally got it together and realized they never stopped loving one another….I love a good second chance romance. I was also happy he knew how to navigate his way through his toxic ass family.
Yes!!! I was dying for Jaxson’s POV. It made all the difference. I enjoyed this a lot. This is the first time I felt like she didn’t give me a story that feels all the way fleshed out, but it was still so good. She has a way of writing these strong, silent, sensitive, and attentive MMCs that are just downright amazing.
I can’t, cuz why was this SOOO GOOD. I don’t even have words, but this was EVERYTHING. I literally laughed out loud at some parts, there was spice, there was heavy emotion, which I love, there was moments that make you cry, whew. This is real romance. Hands down ones of the best romances I’ve ever read, I can say that with complete confidence.
Jaxon and Sinn continue their story after rekindling their relationship from 6 years ago. Sinn left and broke Jaxon’s heart for a man who was and is TRASH, but they still haven’t addressed the hurt that came from that. Sinn feels that Jaxon is distant but Jaxon is honestly just afraid history will repeat itself.
Their story is beautiful, their emotions are beautiful, just go read this book. Damn it was so good.
I just want these books to be longer because, I always feel like I need more when I finish reading. This one was good enough. I first met Jaxon from Things unseen book 2 (To be loved), and I didn't know there was a book about him and his fiancé. Well, now that I read his book, I can say that, I Liked Synn and Jaxon BUT, I kind of feel like she doesn't deserve him, knowing how and why they broke up the first time. She had her reasons but I didn't really believe them. But still, I think they make a really cute couple.
Now while I was grateful for Second Chances, I felt like things could have played out totally different. Still a very enjoyable read, but I feel like the conversation between these two should have been deeper. Jaxon held back to me when he should have read Sinn ass for filth & then loved on her after. She foolishly ended their relationship the first time around to end up in a toxic disrespectful situation & then had the nerve to wanna "win" with her ex while having him disrespect her man. I completely understood Jaxon being unsure because even Sinn admitted the first time around she was just immature, letting pointless things dictate what she thought her relationship should look like & not trusting her feelings. Outside of that, I enjoyed them as a couple. They really were on some opposites attract lol. Sinn was such a firecracker and didn't play about her man & Jaxon was so relaxed but don't take his meek demeanor for him being soft. I'm glad he stood up to his family & told them don't bring they ass around anymore. Just sad that his family didn't see him as nothing more than a dollar sign & didn't care to get to know him as a son & brother. I loved that he had his grandparents before their death. & I know that Sinn & Avery make up for more than enough what his family lacks. I could have used more, but that's what happens when an author draws you into a story 🥰
Yasss! I am so in my feelings right now! I was surprised that Jaxon and Sinn got back together so quickly, without talking about what happened six years ago. Sinn, was moving around like ish was good, never taking into account all the hurt that she placed on Jaxon, when she ran. I swear I could feel Jaxon's anxiousness, pain, fear and excitement with my whole heart! He loved Sinn with his entire being, but couldn't get past how she hurt him, and feeling like it was inevitable to happen again! When it came to a breaking point, I held my breath for a moment, because I didn't know which way Jaxon would go! Sinn, was stunned and didn't know how to let him know that she was all in this time! Then Jaxon's trifflin' ass family shows up on some ish, to try and break him down more! I applaud him for trying to take the high road, until it was just time for him to show them who he truly is! Jaxon and Sinn's road to love this second time, was rocky as hell, but they will be better for it. I believe Sinn has learned to appreciate the man that she took for granted, and now knows that a love like his is to be cherished! Beautiful read! 👍👍👍
I so love Jaxon and Sinn! It wasn’t pretty but these two needed each other like their next breaths. The author did a really good job bridging the past relationship with the current and all the in between. I feel like I received a complete story. The background on Jaxon’s toxic and chaotic family was so needed because it explains exactly why Jaxon protects himself, first. Quincy added some extra drama but I am glad Sinn did not allow him to drag her back to that dark place; she deserved better. The chemistry between Jaxon and Sinn could not be ignored, I hated to see them at odds but in the end, they came together for good. Very good job!!! Cannot wait for what’s next to come from this author! ♥️
I just loooovveeee this sequel! I knew I would the minute I read By Chance. I’m so glad that we got to really know the characters and see why they are the way they are. My poor Jaxon had to overcome so much with that trash family! But in turn it made him the man that Sinn was fell in love with. I adore the accountability on Sinn’s part and the twist of a man needing that reassurance and safe place from his mate. 10s across the board 👏🏾
Yes, yes, yes. I was so happy Jaxon was able to get all the way past his hurt, and forgive Sinn. Although she broke up with him to be with Quincy, she saw the error in her decision. Sinn was ready for a do-over with Jaxon. I was ready too....
I need an update on Jax and Sinn please and thank you! Jax is EVERYTHING you hear me?! I loved how he loved Sinn and just his whole demeanor. I LOVE a male character that can make me swoon and swoon I did with Jax. More please :)
This was a great part 2 I just loved it Jax was everything she needed. That Quincy is a piece of work that got on all my nerves. I really enjoyed this story, great read!
Cute story. Loved their chemistry. The only issues were typos, too much emphasis on words, and some continuity errors. I'm reading the catalogue out of order but so far I like this author.
Five Black Love hearts!! I can see her growth as a writer. This book was good but her next two books are outstanding! Nice having the backstory on Jaxon.
