Catoctin Creek #3

Springtime at Catoctin Creek

Rate this book
Nadine came back to Catoctin Creek without much hope of ever fitting in there. Her goals? Work a steady job as barn manager at Elmwood Equestrian Center, keep an eye on her mom, and keep her head down. Three things which would be easier without the constant annoyance of the riding instructor and her next-door neighbor, Sean.

Sean Casey never meant to stay in Catoctin Creek for long. His heart is on the big horse show circuit, along with his friends, and he’s going back on the road as soon as he can. Assuming he ever finds someone with deep enough pockets to fund his dreams. As the riding instructor at Elmwood, he has his pick of rich older women to con into sponsoring him. It’s a task which would go a lot more smoothly if that workhorse Nadine would get off his back.

Nadine is counting the days until Sean finally leaves Elmwood; Sean is exasperated with Nadine’s grinding work ethic. Both have been going out of their way to avoid working with each other. So when spring brings the challenge of working together on Rosemary Beckett’s sales horse, they’re surprised to find they aren’t the worst of colleagues, after all . . . and not bad neighbors, either.

With an enemies-to-lovers romp through the beautiful small-town setting of Catoctin Creek, a dash of daring horses, and spring in bloom all around, Springtime at Catoctin Creek is a charming, cozy romance perfect for your next lazy-day escape.

Another fun combination of horses & romance!

Highlights:
⭐️I was a little iffy about Sean at first, but seeing him grow over the course of the book, I was rooting for him & Nadine to be together by the end of it.
⭐️I enjoyed the setting and the horses of Elmwood, in particular Finn.
⭐️Once again, Natalie Keller Reinert brings a realism to her equestrian fiction that’s very enjoyable.
⭐️Technically, I went out of order and started with Book 3, but it worked as a standalone. I enjoyed the community Natalie created in Catoctin Creek and I’m definitely going to be diving into more books in this series.

Good horse book as usual

This is a favorite author because of the great horse details. I enjoy reading about the scenic Catoctin Creek and the small town atmosphere. The stress of horse life as well as the love of horses comes through once again.

I enjoyed both the H/h. They both had faults but overcame them through growth. The only reason it wasn’t a 4 star was both seemed a little immature. However, the idealism of both of them fighting against the realism of life with horses was a refreshing change of pace too.

The story was free through kindle unlimited and it was a clean romance. I would recommend it for any horse lover even teens.

The third book in the series does not disappoint. The characters are relatable to anyone regardless of you have been involved with big show barns or not. The slightly snobby instructor (who perhaps is using bravado to hide his own insecurities) butting heads with the no nonsense well educated but not ‘A’ circuit show experienced barn manager is a great plot to base a romance! I loved the twists and turns of events and characters developing and showing their true selves as the book progresses. Another great read by Natalie Keller Reinheart
