Only one woman makes him want to howl.

Amarok lives on a ranch in the boonies for a reason. Hundreds of acres where he can run four legged and furry. But most of all privacy.

What he wants doesn’t stop a perky human from showing up at his door wanting to study the wildlife on his land.

He’d prefer to study her.
Naked.

Utter madness. He’s got secrets and a past he can’t forget. He knows better than to risk it all on love.

However, he can’t resist her. Has to have her.

And when she’s threatened, he’ll do anything to protect her.

Hello, my name is Eve Langlais and I am an International Bestselling author who loves to write hot romance, usually with werewolves, cyborgs or aliens .

I should warn you, I have a twisted imagination and a sarcastic sense of humor something I like to let loose in my writing. While well known for my shifter stories, I am also extremely partial to aliens, the kind who like to abduct humans and then drive them insane...with pleasure. Or do you like something a little darker, more serious? Then check out my cyborgs whose battle with humanity have captivated readers worldwide.

Nobody wants ro read about the male mates past indiscretions. He licked and not his fair share of tits? Really? That’s the sentence you use when he first sees his mate? That he’s had plenty of tits so he know his mates tits will be decent? Just wrong and gross. That’s all I’ll think about when he finally mates her. Him biting and licking other women THAT ARENT HIS MATE.

1.5 stars. DNF @ 75% but I do feel like I’ve listened to enough of this to be able to rate the story. This showed up on hoopla in audiobook format… and I’ve read a few other books by this author that I’ve enjoyed and a few that I didn’t. I decided to give this a shot but this was sadly a miss for me.

The heroine is a little too clueless for me. The hero is too much of a “broken soul”. I absolutely cannot stand when the MCs make decisions that are equivalent to the typical horror movie “nooo don’t go exploring the scary noises alone” scenes. I felt like the heroine made several bad decision, then the hero couldn’t make up his mind about what he wanted, and then out of nowhere they both just had to have each other forever. There was a lot of pushing away by the hero and the heroine just taking him back at every turn. The relationship development just didn’t really exist.

Finally, what made me just up and quit was when the hero left the heroine totally alone, naked in a cave, after some scary shit happens and they consummated their relationship. It was just so obvious that something bad would happen. I really dislike lazy writing, and this felt like a lazy way to progress the plot towards some kind of climax. It made no sense for the hero to just up and leave the heroine at that point for any length of time.

Anyways, that’s all I have to say. I wish I had the patience to keep going and see if the story gets better, but I’m just not in the mood to potentially be disappointed even more.

Safe w/ exception: hero meets the heroine tells her to leave, that night he immediately goes out looking for a hookup and there’s a nice long list of all the women in town he’s had in the past. And then something about how last time he ended up fucking the bartender (or waitress?) in the back room. Lots of details of his past right from the start. Is this shit necessary? Nothing ends up happening, but I don’t need that vision and it did sour my feelings toward the hero right from the start. The heroine could never live near that town and not run into all of his past hookups. The heroine wasn’t a virgin or too inexperienced so I’ll at least give the author credit for not writing her as a pathetic nun. There’s no cheating, no scenes or drama with om/ow.

Jiggles and giggles

Roc and Meadow's story is HOT. It's a must read in one sitting. There is no reading it in parts. Make yourself comfortable with your drink of choice_(PSA , no drinking during the giggly parts) , snacks and settle in for the best read of the new Feral Pack.

This is a new world, new characters, I am totally behind it all! These characters are interesting, they have back stories we need to get to know, and they live in the middle of nowhere. Most definitely all about found family, fated mates, and making and changing your life. Loved it and can’t wait for more!

The 'beaver' references were lame. Thankfully they didn't continue throughout the book. I'm a bit disappointed in this first story. It read like a million other Eve stories and wasn't a standout for me. I was hugely disappointed in the main female character Meadow. She came across as a ditzy, clueless little girl. Then Rok and his daddy issues (which were warranted) made him come across as a broken, hiding out in the wilderness to run from his issues, male. I didn't pick up alpha at all from him.

I'm going to give book #2 a try and hope for a better outcome. Otherwise, I'll drop this series.

Was looking for an audiobook to listen to while I worked today and this one was my choice. What a great story! Also love the narrator. Her sexy, smoky voice makes it a pleasant listen!

Meadow and Rock are such a hot couple. Meadow is sassy and spunky and just what the undeclared Alpha needs. I get a little bit of “Twilight” vibes were the werewolf governing body finds out they have an illegal pack and a human knows that were’s exist so they have to intervene.

It’s a great story that held my attention and made me laugh a few times. Definitely recommend.

A great storyline to start a series

Rok is a grumpy, moody werewolf with no time for happy go lucky Meadow. Meadow just wanted to film and document the white beaver that was tracked to Rok's Ranch. Just like the misfit toys on Christmas island. His ranch is a home for misfit and lone werewolves. Rok carries on his uncles dream of giving lone wolves a place to take shelter. From bad and abusive alphas from their own packs. Meadow finds Rok's protective very sexy and she is drawn to him. Rok is drawn to Meadow too. But he tries to deny his feelings. Rok's past comes back to haunt him. Putting Meadow in danger and him in trouble with the werewolves council. With their lives on the line can they show. The council that the weren't trying to break any laws. Plus it goes to show that you can make your own family with friends. Those families are the best kind

Amarok, werewolf and owner of a ranch in northern Alberta, has made a family of loner weres who have shown up looking for a home. They stay under the radar of the governments of the country and the Lykosium (International Were Council). Meadow Fields, human researcher/blogger, shows up to continue her study of a beaver who’s tracker says he is located at the ranch. He was released to the wild but had been raised in captivity. She wants to verify his successful adaptation or not. Amarok recognizes her as his mate but fights it because of the trouble it could cause the ranch inhabitants. Lots of hot and cold between the 2 until external forces get involved. Pretty good start to a series although Amarok’s push and pull got a little tiring.

Amarok "Rok" likes his privacy; that's why he lives on hundreds of acres in the middle of nowhere, where he and his fellow werewolves can run free. His life becomes complicated, though, when he meets Meadow, who runs an animal sanctuary and wants permission to observe an albino beaver that she raised and released that now lives on Rok's land.

I honestly don't have much to say about this book; I read it because I wanted something light and fluffy and not too long. It's a typical werewolf romance featuring a grumpy/sunshine pairing. Overall there's nothing to make it stand out in the crowd, aside from it's repeated lame innuendos about beavers.

The reviews complaining about the FMC being annoying was not an understatement.

Truly don’t understand the high reviews of this book as there is no character development (or even basic starting personality’s), their romance was non existent besides the boring sex scenes.

Alpha Unbound

This latest series begins with Amarok and Meadow's story. Amarok inherited the ranch from his uncle and has taken in other wolf shifters who had no where to go. Meadow has come to the ranch wanting to checkup on a white beaver who was raised at the sanctuary where she works, and according to his tracker, was now in the stream on Amarok's ranch. Initially being refused to enter, Amarok agrees to her request after giving in to the knowledge he knows she is his fated mate. Danger is lurking nearby and things are about to get worse. What a great story.

This book is a good start to the series. The story is more complex than you might first think. There are also a few twists that you don't expect.

Meadow is a real ray of sunshine, who throws the grumpy Amorok off track with her easy-going cheerfulness. In any case, it also causes some laughs for the reader; which makes her absolutely loveable. But Amorok also has his rough edges that make him very interesting. Both complement each other very well.

The ending gives a small foretaste of the next book, which seems to be quite amusing.

Meadow shows up at Amarok’s ranch wanting to observe a beaver. She raised it from a baby and Meadow wanted to watch it for a week. Rok owns a ranch that is home to loner wolves. Rok knows as soon as he sees her that she is his mate but he denies her access. Rok changes his mind and Meadow is allowed to stay at the ranch. Someone is sneaking around the ranch and Rok will do anything to keep his friends safe. But when Meadow is threatened, he’ll keep her safe or die trying.

I liked this story. Shifters. Humor. Steamy.

No pack wolves leader meets a nature lover Meadow who falls into danger while performing a badger study near Amarok’s wolf ranch. It is taboo for humans to know about wolves so he backs away from the attraction until he can’t help himself and his protective nature takes over. Eventually the shifter council gets involved and Dow and Roc are accused of the worst crime and are on Trial. Want to read the next.

I had a hard time with this one. The cruelty of this shifter world really made this not very enjoyable for me towards the end. HEA, sure, but getting there was too much of a chore. I would really give it a 2.8 or so, though I did like the arc and many characters. I will give the next one a shot. Maybe it will get better.

I typically really like this author, so my ambivalence was an unwelcome surprise!

I started to listen to the audiobook version on audible and all I can say is don’t bother with it. I made it 30 minutes before I had to stop. The narrators voice, emphasis and general reading style is so off-putting that I couldn’t concentrate on what she said so much as how she said it. So I can’t say much about the book itself only that you should probably read it yourself instead of listening to the audiobook version if you choose to pick up this book.

An Array

This is a good start for a Paranormal Romance. The assortment of "family" was easy to see. Men and Women arguing back and forth like Brother and Sister though they were a gathering. You know the favorite word is always "Mine." Don't you just get goosebumps? Yeah, I get into any genre I'm reading. There's one I can't wait to read. You'll figure it out. I'm probably going to cheat. I haven't checked if its done. Good easy read.

I usually enjoy this author, but this book just didn't do it for me. I never felt the connection of the characters, I didn't care about secondary characters, there wasn't much depth and/or description of the characters or the storyline. I was done with story pretty early on in the book. Super bummed.

Nice Read

Meadow was serendipity, all smiles all the time (not my thing). Amarok, a/k/a Rok was all the time grumpy (not my thing). The beaver innuendo and jokes :: 👀:: oh my. However, it got better and towards the end I started to enjoy it. So, four stars, it is the first of the series and I anticipate the rest will be better.

Amarok (Rock) and Meadow

It was ok. Meadow shows up at Rock's door because she wants to check on an albino beaver. The double entendre of that word was way overused.

I didn't like how apparently Rock knew from the 1st meeting that she was his "mate" but still pushed her away. I mean, what if she just left?

I'm not sure if I'll continue with the series.

I like this genre but too many authors think lots of rude swear words and hot sex makes a good book. Nope. Plot and good characters do it for me. I returned this to my Libby library audio after the first few minutes. Talk of *issing (urinating) and the word *uck and I didn’t even listen a minute more.
