The PNR genre is what I cut my romantic reading teeth on but I’ve strayed away from it into contemporary romance and romantic suspense for many years now. There are a few crafty wordsmiths who can tempt me into other genres because their writing is consistently terrific. This is one such lady, and now I find myself desperate for more of this book world.
Although I missed the first two books in this series and the story builds from one to the next, I really wasn’t lost while reading this one. I’m certain, however, had I read the first two it would have made this one even more compelling and riveting, and I’ll definitely go back and read them at the first opportunity.
Willow is the fated mate of Maxim, their wolf pack’s alpha. It’s a role that should have gone to Maxim's older brother, Bane, until Bane went off the rails and left the pack. Maxim may be top dog, but when he betrays Willow, she carefully constructs a plan to sneak away from the pack. It seems like a good plan, until Willow finds she's run from the frying pan directly into the fire.
This one kept me on the edge of my seat, reading at lightening speed to find out what happened next. I quickly became invested in these characters, feeling the vast array of emotions alongside them. Even if this isn’t your preferred genre, I urge you to check out this series. You'll be hooked from the first page and won’t want to miss this fascinating, fast-paced, phenomenal read!
