This is such a thrilling book to read, so many turning points in the story that will surely, entertainment for readers. The plot line of the story simple, it's suicide case, they are going to finds out, is that really suicide or it's murder and all. It may be simple but it's beautiful and exciting to read the story how it will turn and end with interesting, this story revolves around friendship, love and family. So it's good read for sure. This story is all about khusbu case, who is died because of suicide and she married to ajit, after one month of her marriage she became dead don't know whether it's a suicide or murder, police going to finds out about her friend who is Amrita, she may be a bestie but there is so much more than that, how the case going to solve and what she trying to distract the case and what's the reason behind that. It was interesting to read those scenes and all.

Did Khushbu commit suicide of her own accord or someone forced her to do so? Read to know!
This book had me hooked right from page one. It talked about the changing political scenario of Bihar in 2014, the state of a girl's thoughts when she is newly betrothed, the giddiness that comes with too much power and a lot more!
#193 "Baigas are seminomadics, and they would typically travel fair distances in groups in search of food. They are nature lovers. They dedicate their lives to the preservation of Mother Nature in all her forms."
BOOK: Two Indian Girls (Book 1) SERIES: The Kanke Killings Trilogy AUTHOR:@authorkinshuk GENRE: #crimethriller #murdermystery RATING: 3.3๐ซ
Two best friends Kushbu and Amrita who are polar opposites, one settles for family and other for career, one soft other tough. When kushbu is found dead, and Inspector Rajiv is assigned to the case, there unravels a secret which is years older.
โ The concept was good.
โCharacters were well built.
โ It felt like a typical Indian movie. An indian murder mystery.
โ The flow of the story was predictable but interesting to read.
โ I found this font of the book quite better to read.Usually the font size of novels will be small.
'Two Indian Girls', book one of Kanke Killings Trilogy. Set in Kanke, Ranchi Bihar this novel revolves around mysterious suicide of Khushbu who is married to Ajit not less than a month. Now Ajit, his family and his in-laws are under investigation. None of them could believe that Khushbu would take such a drastic step. Now, Inspector Rajiv is all set to find the truth and he views the case from a different angle. His focuses much on Amrita, Khushbu's best friend and founds the case to be fishy as he goes more in depth. Did Khushbu really commit suicide or she was forced into ?
This definitely an outstanding thriller. From the start till the end, the book kept me hooked. The style of portraying the entire novel was indeed nice, and the suspense created also gives a spine-chilling feeling to the readers. If you are look forward to reading something fast-paced and thriller then I highly recommend this book.
You might find Two Indian Girls to be one of the most misleading titles for a story that centres on the investigation of a crime case. No, I am not going to spill the beans here, keeping in mind certain events in the course of the novel that might be triggering for some people on this platform. Yet, I will most certainly talk about why Two Indian Girls is one of the most ingenious crime novels I have come across this year.
To give you a glimpse of the plot โ we have two women who are polar opposites in terms of their respective personalities. Yet, Khushboo and Amrita are best friends who always look out for each other. The starting point of the main storyline sees the aftermath of Khushbooโs suicide, and how Amritaโs disbelief and Inspector Rajivโs suspicion eventually lead them to the haunting truth. Two Indian Girls explores the dynamics of the political situation of Bihar in the recent years, as well as devotes a significant amount of space to describe their culture and their way of life.
The first reason why I really enjoyed reading Two Indian Girls is the storyline itself. In a very innovative way of storytelling, the author has made use of specific plot devises at the right moment of the plot. In the quest of the โwhydunnitโ, Two Indian Girls unfolds crucial elements pertaining to the back story of the protagonists and certain important supporting characters in the novel; and the author does it with finesse by implementing plot twists right at the most obscure turning points of the storyline. The fact that Two Indian Girls relies heavily on the plot developments is made possible by creating the effect of suspense and anxiety in a very smart way of narration, another reason why I enjoyed reading it.
One more important aspect of Two Indian Girls is how the author analyses extensively the political scenario of Bihar in contemporary times. This topic, like I mentioned above, acquires a significant bandwidth of the novel. This is because, the antagonists or the villain(s) in the book Two Indian Girls wield enough political power to subjugate the powerless, the voiceless. Although I personally found this segment a bit redundant, I still do not mind the inclusion of it. The absence of the detailed analysis of Bihar politics may not have had far-reaching influence over the course of the novel, yet the book gives us a glimpse (no matter how small it is) about how power corrupts people. It is this that I admire so much about Two Indian Girls; as the author explores the political scenario of the state, the analysis often transcends the boundaries of vote banks and Jawahar coats, in order to recognise the darkness lurking behind the usurpation of power. The illusion of power and status that politicians are blinded by is wonderfully described throughout the book. Another important aspect of Two Indian Girls was the characterisation.
While I did fleetingly talk about this with respect to the โwhydunnitโ feature (I probably made up that word!), characterisation is one of the aspects the author did truly well throughout the novel. As the readers come to know about the respective lives of the lead characters, we also get to see into their own psychology. After all, crime novels are about the study of the human mind in the most intricate ways possible.
In short, Two Indian Girls is a very engaging story that you can go for without any doubts. My best wishes to the author for his upcoming literary projects.
The story has the elements of suspense and thriller. It is the book one of the series thus a little world building for the series in there in this book, which is anyway necessary for a series. The story begins with the one of the girl leaving the another one as potraited on the cover. The plot is focused on these two only. The girls are namely, Amrita and Khushbu. While Inspector Rajiv us working on this case. We get to see much more of the characters in the book. There are several characters yet each character development has been presented well. Again each character has been given sufficient scope to contribute to the plot. The narration is kept simple and easy making it a good read for all. The language used is lucid.
Two Indian Girls named Amrita and Khusbu. The author has portrayed each friend with their unique characteristics and ideology where one place amrita is modern. Both the Girls are Friends. Many local terminology and idioms are utilised, making it difficult for non-Indian or South Indian readers to understand. She looked confident, calm, and composed. She exuded an aura. For a moment, her relatives and friends looked at her as if they were โetherized upon a table,โ waiting to be brought out of their coma. The storyline is really good and the amazing narration kept me glued throughout the reading journey. The characters and scenes are detailed perfectly.Does Khushbu take care of the devils in the form of her benefactors? Can Amrita redeem her?
This is engaging murder mystery which pickup faster pace in the second half and put forth unimaginable intriguing saga of treachery, deceit and lust.
Commendable story telling by author incorporating all the requisite ingredients to make the book contemporary and replete with engrossing characters and scenarios. You anticipate that there is something more to the events as they unfold and indeed there is.
This is a book you won't put down. Eagerly awaiting for stunning sequel of this book.
The story is about murder mystery. It's described in very first chapter about suicide of newly married girl Khushbu. The story revolves around few characters including Amrita and Khushbu. They both are best friends.
It was apparently suicide case but inspector Rajiv solves case with enthusiasm. I didn't like description of politics and other things in between the story. The suspense of the crime is maintained till the end. It starts to unfold with last chapters.
The characters are well developed. The language is lucid. It's recommended for thriller readers.
The beautifully created story of two indian girls, above that the book discusses many politicians, their politics. It is, as a subplot, a discussion of Indian Politics etc many original politician has given characters in the novel and that was very interesting. The book, as a main plot discusses the life of Amrita and Khushbu and the death of Khushbu, along with the reader, the book investigates the reason behind her death, Ultimately was that a suicide or murder?
All these create an Increasing passion in the minds of the readers, really admiring the author for fictionalising some realities.
The story revolves around the two girls Khushbu and amrita. they are best friends. Khushbhu gets married to Ajit and in a couple of months Khushbu commits sucide. Is it a sucide or a murder. the book is a mysetry story. Although the title says two Indian girls, the story is about a million of girls not only Indian but story of girls living in any country, and of any race. There are many characters in the story and all of them are very well presented. The story has a element of suspense and thriller.
Well the book is pretty complex yet it's a quick read. The narration is kept simple and easy making it a quick read. The characters are well penned down by the author. The narrative is at top notch.Although it's a shirt read with easy vocabs however the story line is gripping one. You can't deny the authors approach of keeping you hooked till the last., author successfully amuses and thrills the readers.Overall this book is really very different and interesting! Recommended!
Well written suspense story by the author. The storyline kept me hooked to the book to finish it in one go. Personally fell in love with the dynamic character of Amrita. The emotions of love and friendship makes the debut novel all the more exciting. Overall a highly recommended, enthralling and mysterious fiction. Look forward to read the complete trilogy.
The is a story that discusses many societal issues like marriage, customs, politics etc. The book is a travelogue through the perspective of two Indian girls, Amrita and Khushbu. Khushbu is seen dead from the beginning itself. The book is simple yet really intriguing, it is a mysterious and thrilling read. You can give it a go!
Two Indian girls written by kumar kinshuk. Main characters of the story are Amrita and khusbu. Story is based on relationship, crime , suspense , thriller etc.Short read!!. simple and licid language. Cover page is also attractive.Interesting !!!๐โค๏ธ
When a newly married girl, Khushbu, commits suicide, despite having a good going life, Inspector, Rajiv decides to throughly investigate the case!!
However, he seems to be suspicious of Amrita, Khushbu's best friend, who happens to be a pole apart from Khushbu's nature.
Any person with a liking to thriller and murder mysteries will love the plot!!! Author has penned the flashbacks in smooth way!! Character development were up to the mark!! The only thing which slowed the pace in the book were at the extra political description. Overall it's pretty decent thriller to read!!!
The plot of the book is a bit confusing as the central premise of the book does not get established until almost half the book is done. The story is told primarily from Amritaโs and Rajivโs Point of view but neither of them add too much to the story. Another thing that drags the story down is the excessive use of fillers to add volume to the story which has nothing to do with the primary plot. There is discussion on politics, society, religious customs etc., which did not have almost no bearing on the main idea that the author wanted to convey. The good thing about the book is that it picks up pace in the second half and the things start falling into place. The murder mystery starts making sense and the important characters start jumping out. The climax, however, is abrupt and sudden.
Coming to the characters, this book is primarily character driven and propels forward through their emotions and their beliefs. The author takes his time, setting the pace of the characters and that is something I appreciate about the book. I loved how different examples were taken to establish Amrita as a character. However, one drawback I noticed here is that the presence of too many characters starts creating a confusion as the storylines start jumbling up. Rajivโs character was well sketched, and I would love to see more stories featuring him.
This was my first time reading a book based on my hometown, so I was really excited to read it. The plot of the book overall is good , but I am afraid the execution is sub par. The sentences throughout the book are very abrupt - there is no continuity or flow in them. The sentence structure is similar to " I went out. I ate food. It was good...." which really disengages the reader from the book because it feels like a bunch of abrupt pauses. Other than that, I didn't like the utterly stereotypical depiction of women in the book, and I truly believe that the author has the potential to rise above these mistakes in their future work. The plot was well thought out, but the completely unnecessary political commentary in the book dampened it further. The book had potential, but It failed in my opinion.
Two indian girls..a mystery thriller novel In the beginning story revolves around the murder mystery of a girl named khushbu who just married a few weeks back and like a traditional way of investigation the main focus is on the husband and in laws...... later as the story continues the other phases started to come into the play because the investigating officer Rajiv have a different approach towards investigation which i guess is a better one. Amrita the living protagonist and only bestfriend of khusbhu helps rajiv in her own ways. As it's an indian thriller so we can't escape the political drama and problems in investigation. overall it's an engaging read. Initially i was thinking about the possible endings of this thriller but the ending is really unpredictable and nice. Each character is very special and have their well set role.Author Kumar Kinshuk has really done a commendable job here from title setting to plot adjustments everything is perfect.
Two Indian girls is a book that discloses the world of Khushbu and Amrita. Khushbu is married, a young housewife and her friend Amrita is still unmarried and they are best friends. Khushbu is a poor soul, she found dead one day.. Is it because of her husband or in-laws.? Her death is becoming a political issue.! Why?? Primarily is it shown as suicide but, trust it is not.. It is a murder..! By whom??? For what??? Amrita needs to find the reason, also her parents..!! A series of questions rise and a series of mysteries are unveiled page after page. I liked the pace of the book which matches up with the narration and that's the positive thing about this read. The book is thrilling enough with a characterization, well displayed. Fantastically woven is this read.
As the title goes this book is mainly about two Indian girls - Khushbu and Amrita. They are each others strength and comfort. One is a lovely, sweet girl who after education moves on with an arrange marriage; while that other is a corporate tigress. One sudden death shatters many lives. Grab the book is uncover the mystery in the death.
The story is bountifully scripted and narrated with taste of love, care, hope, fear and a heinous crime. Akki in this story is a sad soul but her transformation is impressive, but she also deserves a second shake which is gifted by Khushbu. This is a trilogy I don't want to miss.
๐ฅ๐ฒ๐๐ถ๐ฒ๐: โThe rest, as they say, is history!โ Khushbu was newly married to Ajit. On 22 December 2014, Khushbu was found dead, hanging from the fan in her bedroom. But then, every suicide is a murder, no? Police inspector along sub inspector arrived, and Khushbuโs family was sophisticated about her demise. Khushbuโs death was surmised to be a crime under Section 304 B of the Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961 of the Indian Penal Code. The incident befell in Kanke Road, Ranchi. Rajiv Kumar, the police inspector, latched into investigation. He was fairly certain about it not being soberly a suicide, immensely in the wake of a triumphant marriage a month ago.
Amrita, Khushbuโs best friend was an assertive girl, career oriented but had been through bruise in her prepubescence which in essence sets the story. Khushbu was loving, charming and an ideal Indian bahu. The logical story revolves around political, economic, and social facet of India, spesh Bihar. Khushbu and Ajit were smitten in love. Her unlooked-for and precipitous death appalled Ajit to deathblow. He lost his job in view of the fact that the case is related to dowry; but it was not. The question is, if it was a murder, who was behind that? Was that because of dowry or there was something mysterious?
The use of duck soup language and touch of Bhojpuri words throughout made the story strike realistic and in motion. It brings us to the authenticity of how reputation of a person sets them aside a crime; how a fella you trusted the most was in charge of a death in your mรฉnage; how misery slumps over; and a lot more. I had my eyes glued up on it till the peroration and had a major heartbreak at the denouement. The author puts down reality as fiction of countless. Although the title says Two Indian Girls, but it is a story of thousands and even millions of girls. Itโs unlike other stories, not something one should miss upon, though it broaches too much in political ground which was superfluous and monotonous.

๐Amrita and Khushboo were best friends. Khushboo was soulful, charming, loving, an Ideal Indian bahu and Amrita on the contrary was assertive, focused, protective and career-oriented. Khusbhoo wife Ajit's wife who was found hanging from the fan in her bedroom, within a month of their marriage. Rajiv, the inspector surmised it could be a crime under Sec. 304 B of Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961 of IPC though Khushbu's parents had given her and her in-laws enough gifts but it didn't look like a normal suicide. Amrita had a feeling that Khushbu was under stress the last few days before her death, but she didn't discuss it even when she asked gently about it. Rajiv interrogated Ajit and his parents and Khushbu's parents as well.
๐Amrita realized that Khushbu, knowing some facts which she couldn't bear it and also couldn't discuss it with anyone. She was now quite sure that Khushbu didn't commit suicide, the pressue was externally induced. After a lot of hustle, the case was solved. Yes, Khushbu did not commit suicide, she was murdered. But, How? Who made her do this? Does Amrita's past tormentor and Khushbu's present tormentor, a same person? Grab your copies to unfold all your answers.
๐This is a perfect crime mystery, and the suspense is perfectly build up. A fast paced story, with an easy, smooth narration will keep you hooked till the end. The bond of two girls- Amrita and Khushbu is beyond measure, they truly are pefect examples of best friends who stayed forever till death did them part. The character development is done pretty well and the storyline is quite interesting. By the turning pages of the book, I was curious to know "What happens next?" Overall, I loved the book and I am sure you'll enjoy it as well.
This is the story of Bihar when changes started coming in that state. Where the girls were now engaged in fulfilling their dreams instead of going to the in-laws' house after getting married. One of them is Amrita who had touched her career with her hard work and manners. On the other hand, Khushboo who was about to marry after obeying her parents. Yes, arranged marriage where she seemed to be getting all that happiness. Her future in-laws want to make Khushboo the daughter-in-law of her house without any demand. Where in another Bihar, boys are bidding, the bigger the government official, the higher the demand for dowry. But Khushboo's in-laws did not put forward any such issue. After a few days of marriage, Khushboo commits suicide and her in-laws are the first to be blamed. But was it just the death of a new bride harassed for dowry or another consequence of the ongoing rape culture in the society. Amrita who after her friend's death spends all her time only to find her killers and where her own past comes to the fore to scare her again. This is a very beautiful and plain novel in which you will get to see Bihar of 2014 .One character I liked the most is Police Inspector Rajiv who does his duty without any pressure and finally gets justice for both the girls.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I came to this book with high expectations after reading the prequel, "Ritualistic Murder". Unfortunately, this book fell short. Not because of the plot or the contentโthat was interesting. Just that, there were some gaps in the flow.
In this book, Inspector Rajiv digs into the death of Khushbu (one of the girls from the book's title). We move back and forth in the story, from Khushbu's past to her friend Amrita(the second Indian girl)'s past, into the present, and back again. Amidst these time jumps, which I'm sure were added to keep the reader on their toes, some of the story goes missing. For example, we jump from an interrogation in one chapter to a resolution in the next, where everything's resolved and packed. These are not gaping holes, thankfully, so the reader is not left to mull over the suspense, but I would have loved some details.
The language is easy to follow for the most part. In a few chapters, we switch from third-person narration to first-person, which broke the flow for a spell. Even though the publication order puts this book first, one should read the prequel, which was published a couple of months later, before jumping into this one (Glad there's a note regarding that in the prologue!).
Khushbu ignited in her a sense of belonging. Amrita called her โher lifeโ. She cared for her. She always meant well for her. She was protective towards Khushbu like nobodyโs business. She could go to any lengths to keep her safe. Thatโs was the bond between these two girls - Amrita and Khushboo. Khushboo was about to get married but Amrita was skeptical about Khushbooโs in-lawโs and her would be husband Ajit. She was thinking something somewhere was wrong....
None the less the marriage took place but soon Khushboo was found hanging by a fan in her room.
Was Amritaโs earlier judgement correct? Was this a murder or a suicide? What else was hidden behind this mysterious death?
A good initiative by Author Kumar Kinshuk. First half was little slow and I was not interested in knowing about Bihar, Mr Modi and Nitish Kumar. Author has shared many information about Mumbai, corporate world, dowry system in Bihar, Kanha Tiger Reserve, Baiga, politics etc etc. Some were interesting though but actual pace of the story was picked up in the second half. story line is interesting and language is very simple. Itโs definitely worth a read.
