this is good with a little touch of dark themes. jacob is an ex-convict, he has been in prison for the last 12 years and when he got out. another inmate gave him the address of his wife and hook him up with a job to start his life and new found freedom. he met the wife by saving her from jerks who was harassing her and when they got in the house he met the granddaughter, maggie.
it was instant attraction between them, i mean this is a novella so it's quite expected. everything went fast between them. they share a lot of common things but the most awful one is they both have POS father.
the story has a decent plot and even though it was short i was entertained by it. i also liked that this has two epilogues (6 mos and 10 years) that gave a glimpse of their lives together.

First and foremost.....DUAL VIRGIN GOODNESS!!!!
I corrected my rating to a 5 star read, I don't know why I rated it 4 stars when I first read it.... (I would rate it higher than 5 stars if I could)!
Safe
DUAL VIRGINS (Jacob had a few awkward kisses in his early teens that he hated and never tried again. He never went any further than that. He was never interested in women, it was him and his hand and he was content with that....until Maggie. As for Maggie she has no experience and was never interested in a man.....until Jacob.)
No cheating
No OW (a lady scouts for fighters in underground fighting rings and spots Jacob, becoming his manager, Maggie gets jealous but for nothing. This OW is a lesbian and is only interested in Jacob's skills in the ring. Jacob only has eyes for Maggie and never felt any attraction to his now manager.)
No OM (There were a couple of hooligans, one that fought Jacob in the ring taunting him that Maggie was his and of course Jacob beat him to a pulp. The OM drama was very minimal).
No separation
No gross condom use
HEA
This story is a little dark with dark themes, but the light of their love makes it a read with low angst.
*sigh swoon* Jacob and Maggie are just so amazing together, they are a kinky couple too! There is so much heart, so much romance and scorching hot sex scenes that will have you clutching your pearls. In terms of erotica there is non con play (a fantasy our heroine has that our hero gladly fulfills for her and enjoys it), sub/dom play, the h is a squirter and some rough sex. Each encounter is hot and they lose themselves until they climax, gently come down from bliss and then the hero showers his Maggie with loving words, soft kisses, soulful gazing into each others eyes and soft caresses. Jacob gets his now favorite shower, the Maggie shower *wink wink*. There is so much emphasis on the two being virgins, and how glad they are to share all their firsts with each other and ONLY each other.
For Jacob it is forever, since he first saw her, he knew. For Maggie, he is a greek god, and she never imagined falling in love. Well, want to know what happens when soul mates meet? Meet Jacob and Maggie! There was no question or doubt in his mind that she is his one and only, imagining having kids together, and growing old together. That always goes straight to my heart and I feel all the feels when the hero pictures with bliss growing old and gray with his woman by his side.

The story is about Jacob, an ex con, who just got out of prison for murder. In the gym where he trained he went into the office of his trainer and sees him molest a young boy, so he beat him to death, and went to prison for it. He was convicted as an adult at 17 and completed his sentence after 12 years. He is now 30, and needs to start a new life. After a lifetime of abuse by his father, seeing his mother killed by his own father and finding solace in brutal fighting, something Jacob is good at, followed by 12 years in prison, Jacob is lost but has a place to stay, comes into contact with an old lady who curses like a sailor, Oma Laska, and moves in with her as planned. At dinner, Maggie comes home and her clothes being all muddy after working on a pond (she does landscaping with a focus on ponds), she takes her clothes off and in her panties and bra, she locks eyes with Jacob and the insta love is scorching! She apologizes, changes has dinner with Oma and Jacob and the sexual tension can be cut with a steak knife! There love story starts and there is a few turns of events but their love never wavers, and even though Maggie hates fighting, she never pushes him away, she just gives him a hypothetical, 'if I choose to walk away?' to which our alpha grabs her, pulls her to him, says, 'MINE!' and kisses her. Maggie lost her parents because of abuse as well and while he embraced violence, she fears it so it is a very interesting comparison between the two, what I love is that even though they are opposites, they come together as a couple beautifully, each respecting the others choices. She later is his biggest chear leader when he gets into pro fighting and he later leaves the ring to pursue teaching kids in the gym and enjoys some light sparring with his coworkers.
The epilogues are so sweet and you cheer for their happily ever after. There are so many passages in the book that I reread many times, that made me sigh, clasp my hands to my chest with a smile on my face, just basking in the romance of it! Jacob is just such a swoon worthy romantic hero, I love him!!
It was really a good read and is of course one of my top reads, I am so glad I rediscovered it! I fell in love all over again with Jacob and will be rereading this often! I urge you to pick this up, make a refreshing drink, cozy up in your reading nook and dive into this romantic, erotic, one and only true love story! To me it is perfect.

This was spicyy~ I liked the plot! Definitely not new but felt so original in this one. H and h were both okay. Not annoying and stuff. And the bonus honeymoon scene? I was confused af at first but realized they were role playing. liked it. Safe from ow/om drama, Dual Virgins. and ended up with HEA 😌🤎

This was an awesome DV; it was dark, hot and absolutely fantastic! I read this book the very first day I got it and I couldn’t put it down. I loved Jacob and Maggie together. I loved the instant connection and the chemistry between these two. Jacob when to jail for standup to people who hurt seemingly weaker people. Maggie is living with her grandmother because both her parents are gone. When Jacob gets out, a friend from the inside said that he as a place to live and a job if he wants it and unknowingly, Jacob meets his obsession there. I loved the first meeting between Maggie and Jacob. I loved both Jacob and Maggie for their strength and their need for each other. There is a bit of drama but it’s nothing that Jacob and Maggie can’t handle. I really, really enjoyed this book and I can’t wait to see what Mr. Nikolai has in store for us next! I would highly recommend this book and Mr. Nikolai as a must read author.

I received this book in advance for a voluntary honest review. Great second solo novel for Nikolai Andrew. Recently released from prison, Jacob West, moves his prison buddy’s home to live with his friend’s wife and granddaughter, Maggie. Curvy Maggie, oblivious to the extremely attractive stranger in her kitchen, struts in with her granny panties and sock garters. Despite being embarrassed she liked the way Jacob looks at her. It doesn’t take long for these two virgins to set the bedroom on fire. Jacob is a fighter, it’s what he’s good at, but will Maggie stay by his side if he works for unsavory characters and fights in the cafe? It’s hot, sweaty and original.

When your young and still learning what you like it's scary and little wrong but its amazing when you find a man that matches your needs and wants.

There may not be anything sweeter than a true love that cradles it’s recipients in redemption. That’s the case for Jacob and Maggie, two people with eerily similar tragic pasts, who find each other and complete each other. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not all sweet and sunshiny. Nikolai brings the heat and his signature hint of darkness.. I guarantee you’ll be turned on and rooting for Jacob and Maggie’s HEA at the same time.

Holy heck I freaking loved this story. 😍😍😍 It was hot ,sweet, a bit dark, romantic had action in it and was totally safe❤❤ DV but so so hot 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Jacob was just released from prison and just wanted to start over, little did he know that his future waited for him around the corner 😉 The chemistry between Jacob and Maggie was off the charts hot 🔥🔥 Steamy scenes and a HEA.👍👍

Wow! Great read. Jacob just finished a 12-year sentence for murder and arrives and thanks to a cellmate he has a place to stay. The last thing he expects is to fall for Maggie, his cellmate granddaughter and because of her his life would change forever. Fantastic plot, likeable character and red hit romance. I loved Maggie and Jacob and I couldn't believe it was DV! I didn't want the book to end it was so good and Jacob was such a possessive and protective hero! It had so much steam and the epilogues were wonderful.

I think it's no secret how much I love dual virgin books. And this one was no exception. Really liked how he owned the fact he was a virgin and mentioned it multiple times. Honestly, a dv book for me can do no wrong, literally lol. Really liked the writing and characters. Wouldn't mind some more dual virgin books from Nikolai.
It is safe for me but I could see how it's not safe for others. First book by this author and if this is the type of books she will be publishing, I know it won't be my last. Well, as long as it's DV. I've found that I really don't enjoy non DV books that much anymore so that's all I really read these days.

Parts of this story are violent, parts of it are steamy, parts of the story tug at your heart strings.
