There are four stories in this book: 「Pの妄想」(P's delusion) 「Fの告発」(F's accusation)「Cの遺言」(C's dying message)「Yの誘拐」(Y's kidnapping). Of these stories, P's delusion and C's dying message are okay, nothing special. F's accusation is a bit over the top. I personally don't think that trick will ever pass in the real world as the police cannot be THAT sloppy. Finally, Y's kidnapping is the gem of this book (and what makes this book so famous). Not only does the story illustrate the parents' heartbreak in a child kidnapping case, but it also has a logical and brilliantly executed plot. So far I have read four novels by Oyama Seiichiro and this short story, by far, is his best.
5 stars for Y's kidnapping and 3 stars P's delusion and C's accusation and 1 star for F's accusation.
