Like so many people before me I just wanted a quiet life. Instead I got three lifebonds and a trio of scam artists leaving bodies in their wake. Happy Monday to me.
I'd settled into a nice little routine since I'd fled from my mother and her plans to turn me into a monster. Bounty hunting was a natural job choice, and I enjoyed it most days.
And then I gained not one but three lifebonds. Of course they don't much like each other, or the idea of sharing. So that's fun. And on top of that we have to work together to track down a trio of scam artists who're stripping women of their magic and memories. The women are left as walking corpses, blank slates in a state between life and death.
Of course the con artists are only the first step in a far more sinister plot. The closer we get to putting them down, the higher the risk of the truth of my heritage coming out into the light. That would destroy everything I've worked so hard to build. My lifebonds and I are going to have to put our differences aside if we want to come out of this alive. In other words we're so screwed.
This is a standalone PNR RH Romance with a HEA. Not suitable for under 18's.
I liked Lyra - she was fierce and I loved the banter between her and Levi. Milo and Arrow were interesting and I liked them, but also felt that the length of the book didn’t really allow for them to connect as much, considering they were kind of jerks when they met Lyra. I liked the story overall, and wish we could get more stories of Lyra and her guys.
Multiple POV slow burn PNR RH with Shifters and life bonds (mates) This book does NOT end on a cliffhanger, i think it’s a standalone with other books set in same world however I would really like to see more of Lyra, Levi, Milo and Arrow.
Lyra prides herself on being the best Bounty Hunter around. After a rough day at work, an illusionist tries (and fails) to seduce Lyra under the pretence of being her lifebond, a stranger intervenes and Lyra is is horrified to discover he is actually her lifebond. As she starts to come round to the idea of being bonded two more bonds show up making things really interesting. Meanwhile women are turning up without their magic or their memories, rumour has it a trio of con men are seducing women to strip them of their magic essence basically leaving them hollow shells. After Lyras lucky escape with one of the con men she is determined to bring them in, as luck would have it her 3 new mates are also bounty hunters. Having always worked alone Lyra must learn to work with her new mates if they have any hope of stopping these monsters.
Runaway is Phenomenal read with Skye Cavanagh taking us on a wild journey with a dollop of mystery, a dash of danger and a whole heap of laughs. Unlike most books with mate bonds there is no instalove between these characters with reactions ranging from reluctant acceptance to outright horror, it’s great to see the relationship build and grow instead of just being.
Our harem includes Lyra, a warrior witch with a secret (hint her mum is kind of a big deal), Levi and Milo our two wolf shifters and Arrow a Cu Sith which is a type of fae known for escorting dead to the underworld.
Overall this is a great read I would highly recommend.
I read this book twice as I wanted to enjoy the wordplay and interactions all over again. A petite bounty hunter with attitude to spare. "So, I did what any reasonable woman would do when a predator almost a foot taller than her walked into her. I squared up to him and stared him down. 'Oi, fuckface. Watch where you're going!'"
Dealing with lifebonds you thought/hoped wouldn't happen to you while trying to do your job. BTW, they're bounty hunters also. "The paperwork had been completed for me to be a bounty hunter operating in the North. At least I knew my way around that so I didn't need to worry too much about income and money. I'd already swung by the main office in York and saw that a jackass by the name of Levi was the top hunter in the area. A woman by the name of Lyra was a close second. I. was willing to put money on my knocking them both off the top spot within the month."
I liked that it wasn't 'love at first sight'. The bumpy starts and stops of new relationships were right on the mark. Going from working by yourself to working with new partners on top of it adds so much to the mix.
The snarkiness, chance encounters, the 'stick to it-ness', all make this an enjoyable read.
I loved this story. Lyra is a badass bounty hunter that is living her life away from her mom who wants her to be a Warrior. She ends up meeting Levi a wolf shifter who ends up being her life bond. She didn't want a lifebond but he's growing on her. The next day she meets Milo another wolf shifter who was thrown out of his pack he ends up being another lifebond they don't get along at first but end up closer as time goes by. The last bond she has is Arrow who is a cu sith who was angry to be bonded to her due her mother had owned him previously. All her bonds end up being bounty hunters like her and take on a mission to find the magic thiefs in their area. I highly recommend this book
Fast Paced Bounty Hunter Read This book had me on my toes. Always fun to read a badass heroine that doesn’t need saving, just some loving 🥰 Not super spicy, but the spice it did have was yum. Really enjoyed how differently each guy responded to the lifebond. This is a really cool world that Skye has created. I enjoyed Outfoxed and look forward to reading Feral, two other books set in the same world.
Wow, I loved this! I believe this was my first time reading about bounty hunters and I gotta say, it was a great, fresh read!! A great intro, I loved the way the guys were introduced and I loved their personalities toward each other 🤣
Action packed and hilarious, you won't want to skip reading this!!
Good short read. It was a bit too brief to really feel connected to all four characters, but Lyra as the star was snarky and spunky and awesome. And I’m not sure if Levi or Arrow was my favorite.
Strong FMC ☑️ Alpha Men with issues ☑️ Thrilling, mysterious, and adventurous. This easy read is evenly paced with some steam towards the end of the book. I wish there were more. The potential to develop the characters is definitely there. Good read non the less.
This book was a fast read. The hatred/jealousy of the life bonds is extremely short lived. Only one “spicy” scene in the whole book. I’m hoping book 2 gives us more
