FORGOTTEN SECRETS UNLEASH A RISING DARKNESS IN THE WORLD
The Demon Core—history records that the third and final plutonium core meant for Hiroshima was destroyed nearly a century ago. But history is wrong, and now the core reemerges in the hands of a rising power, a man bent on the destruction of the modern world.
When the Governor of New York is murdered, the terrorists make two demands: Show the world the contents of Fort Knox, and step down from power—or the Demon Core will wipe Washington, DC from the map.
Dr. Dan Kotler and Agent Roland Denzel are tasked with hunting down the history of the Demon Core, and to track the man who stole it in his bid for vengeance.
Will they find the truth in time to save the world from a fiery holocaust?

Okay, I really like History woven into a real life situation as if it happened around the same day that will be remembered for a long time., However, often I stay away from some books that include some history because not every writer has the ability to make it interesting. Bet there are a lot of readers that are apprehensive of starting a book that includes history for the same reason. Well, this is the type of writer who has a LOT of imagination and weaves history in the story in such a way that it is as interesting as a hot piece of pie with ice cream on a hot summer day when you are really hungry. I started reading the book yesterday and was so caught up in the story that I could have easily finished in a day. The characters are like real people not all good or all bad. They make choices that sometimes are not healthy and can be deadly.
I liked the way I was given a word picture into how the minds of the different characters work.
I also liked how Kevin Tumlinson gave a background on his need to write this book.

I have always found this authors work to be very fascinating and detailed in descriptions of areas that could history mystery and drama. This novel was truly a spine chilling saga. So many times we think that these are just Stories that could Never happen in our world. Unfortunately we have to really look at what's going on around us and things have changed dramatically over the last Even hundred years . If you want to read a book that Gives you the chills especially with thinking of a character that is so evil It's hard to even believe he was once a very gentle normal man . The main characters Dan Potter and denzel Really keep the story interesting and on track. There are times with Renee the story that you could almost imagine how this person changed so much because of the There are times with Renee the story that you could almost imagine how this person changed so much because of the trauma that he experienced . Fortunately for us Mortals We don't take a trauma to such a dramatic process, but there are people who can't handle many of lives events. Great job, Kevin😀😀😀

The story was very good, I've noticed that recently we've had too many close calls or should I say trial runs for what the inevitable could possibly be. I would hope that cooler heads would prevail but with the political landscape lately I've lost hope. At my age its ok but I feel for my grand children's future. Anyway back to the title, as an ARC reader for other authors I notice typos more so than others and this one was distracting me. I should've highlighted them all to give them to the author, but I'm hoping others have done so for him. The book will hopefully open some peoples eyes but please leave politics out of it, that too was distracting.
Author Kevin Tumlinson just keeps expanding and expanding this fascinating series. I’ve not missed one book of the series and each book just gets deeper and more complex. I love this series and I highly recommend it. The twists and turns that happen are amazing and thrilling to boot. As they chase after a guy who is making a bomb. And boy what a bomb this is going to be……. My advice, start the series today, while you can read them as stand alone, it’s really nice knowing the entire background story! Start today!
Dan Kloter and the historical crimes group are called in to investigate when the Governor of NY is assassinated. They soon discover that someone has gotten hold of a small plutonium device and is planning on using it to revenge the loss of his family and his business mostly through posts on social media. Books as he is nicknamed has been studying and rising in the ranks of criminal organization and is nearing the time of his revenge. He has sown many false leads to send the authorities on wild goose chases but Koler discovers clues to where he may actually be.
This was an extremely "dense" book. So dense that the book could barely contain the words. Lee Coben is one of the most chilling bad guys ever created. Liz's idea of a group of "Outsiders" within Historic Crimes was brilliant and totally frees up Denzel and Kotler. I'm going to have to go back and re-read the book featuring Alex Kayne because she features so largely in this book and the trouble is I don't remember her. Sorry Kevin. But you can be sure I'll remember her now. Fantastic read all in all!!
The story line was very interesting but Mr. Tumlinson got carried away with the psychology of each and every character sometimes more often then the action that we have come to expect. I felt it more a philosophical and psychological story line. I like the action packed adventures of Kotler and Denzel much better. I found myself skipping pages at a time. All sorry to say.
I generally love Kevin’s stories, but this one came too close to so much reality. I read fiction to distract from such reality. His after notes really made me realize why this wasn’t one of my favorites. It is a really good book worth reading, but… I immediate thought of the war in Ukraine when Kevin talks about more real horrors that might come. The world seems to have gone crazy. I hope we can get past all this. Yes Kevin, I’ll be sticking with you along the way.
Great story! Kotler and Denzel continue to be wonderful together and there’s an unusually complex new villain. Excellent plotting, dialogue, and action scenes. A bit more introspective and thought provoking than previous books. Still a whale of a tale! I reviewed an Advance Reader copy of this book.
One of the best books I have read this year. This was the 70th book that I have read this year. This is in my top 5 so far. This is Mr. Tumlinson's best book so far in my opinion. I also liked the personal note at the end of the book. This past year has changed and challenged all of us.
I thought the book was well written except for one or two areas where the author goes on rambling about the same thing over and over. I had to skip those pages because I already knew what he was trying to tell us!! The plot was adventurous and a new type of danger was over the United States.
Ravaged by sadness and guilt and looking for vengeance “Book” his nickname wanted it all and the demon core was his chosen weapon. Denzil and Kotler are the lead on finding bothe the man and the core, a race against time misleading information it’s all here can you solve the problem, a good story with plenty to keep the pages turning
This was NOT a thrilling read or a thriller There were tedious right wing political diatribes in the text; total downer. Then there was the very long very tedious political afterward note at the end by the author. RECLASSIFY this book as "Fox and friends" right wing political propaganda. UGH!!# Returning book to Kindle Unlimited. May it die there.
I've read this book with my heart beating like crazy. So clever plot! Out of the custom trail. A new villain, and as Denzel said the Anti-Kotler. I'm giving myself a little holiday before attacking the next story. I need to recover my breath and low my heart beat to normal. Monica Beltrami. Montevideo,Uruguay.
Loved the book! Dan Kotler and Agent Denzel do what they do best. And, for a change, the bad guy is NOT part of a large organization. The only thing I didn’t’t like were all the mis-edits that were missed. I guess it is my personal quirk. I would offer to edit for free books!
While well written at points the story didn’t flow smoothly. There was a lack of character descriptions and backgrounds that were not separated so that they could be followed easily. Would read more of this authors work as the premise was a good idea.
The concept of Kotler’s character has depth and is intriguing. And of course, thrilling. The author’s explanation of his story in the back of the book is insightful and helpful.
Dan Kotler has become one if my favorite characters. Kevin Tumlinson has written another fast paced thriller. Keep those stories coming Kevin. They are entertaining. You have interesting character development.
Just a wonderful story and a great read. Part truth, part fiction, loaded with characters and almost insane situations, yet a lot of it based on historical facts. Very difficult to put down a book like this.
Great story, a big change from the last Kolter book. A great change actually, opens so many new possibilities for future books. Kevin is a great Author and I can't wait for the next installment.
The Dan Kotler series was awesome. Demon Core really Touched on plus & negatives of social media. Can even Understand why villain could resort & react the way he did! Enjoyed reading all 12 books. Love the way history I& archeology are interwoven in the books as possible outcomes.
This book is engaging and there is a love/hate relationship senator Acosta. I think she adds a lot to the story. I have bought all of his books to be able to reread them. Very exciting and I love the archaeology eh I’d everything.
Another great Dan Kotler adventure. I love that Kotler decided to reach out to Alex Kayne. And I love Dan’s continuing relationships with Denzel and Liz.
The Demon Core is the twelfth book in the Dan Kotler series, and easily one of the best. It also has the most complex enemy leader that the Historic Crimes agency has faced to date.
A nuclear bomb core resurrected from the 1940s, joined to a twenty-first century 3D printed rocket assembly, in the hands of a determined scientist bent on revenge, is the plot driving Kotler and his team. The enemy leads, and mis-directs, his pursuers across several states and the D.C. Capitol as the highly destructive weapon is assembled. Can the team find and foil the plot?
