I have better things to do than babysit a human. And her cat.
Someone has attacked the Human Federation Ambassador in Gehar territory, and out of an abundance of caution, the Empress has assigned me to protect the human until the culprit has been caught.

No, that’s not right. For fifteen years, I have wandered among the stars, starved for him, and now I want to drink him in, greedy, thirsty, parched.
This was so good, Keomi and Jehan were perfect for each other and so responsible. They met at 18 but both had responsibilities and those responsibilities took them on different paths. I loved Keomi so much. The very harsh difficulties she went through and still persevered. She was everything. Honestly the perfect heroine. I loved her so much.
This story was great. I devoured it. It had a cute cat. Horrible commanders, sorry guys, they were all men and made it very clear they didn’t want her to succeed because she was a female and came from a poor planet. So double yuck. And sweet protective Jehan. Everyone could see he was different around her. It was so fluffy and steamy. These two were on fire anytime they were in a room together.
Also it was a pretend lovers, secret bodyguard, one bed story. So all of my favorites!!!! I think this book was writer for me. Like me personally. The next one, Alien Beast: An Alien Beauty and The Beast Romance, is also written for me. It follows Adon D’arana aka The Beast and the female’s name is Bella. Hahaha. It’s pretty clear it’s a Beauty and the Beast retelling and I’m here for it!! It’s in the title as well…duh. But still. I already preordered.

Plot: By a stroke of circumstance, Keoi has been named the new ambassador to the Gehan people, and she's pretty sure that she's being set up to fail. Unfortunately, she's in danger, and the empress has assigned her a bodyguard: Jehan. However, Keomi and Jehan know each other: they were lovers 15 years ago before Keomi just left with no word. She's been moving up in the space corp/fleet (I can't remember what they called it). Jehan's been burning his way through the tabloids. But now that Keomi's back, he's wondering if he cou;d rekindle their previous relationship. In the meantime, they need to figure out who's trying to kill her so they can stop them.
Character development: First, I love the name Keomi - so cute! Secondly, that cat was hilarious, and I loved the reference to the scene in the previous book (newsletter special) with the other cat attacking a...deicate body part. I remember that - it was really funny!
I felt for these two; the separation was just something that happened - life happens - but it was clear they never got over each other. I like that they were able to fall back into a relationship without lots of tears and recrimination and blaming. They were good for each other, and it was nice to see a mature relationship.

Keomi Hearne worked hard to become Captain of a Earth Federation Space Fleet exploration vessel. I was her team that discovered a planet that was suitable for human habitation, she expected the promotion she has worked so hard for as her reward for a job well done. Instead she is appointed Federation Ambassador to the Gehar Empire. She quickly realizes that she is expected to fail, and that failure will probably be the end of her career. Jehan D'arana is Second Shield of Gehar, and is looking forward to a much needed vacation when he is summoned by the Empress. So much for relaxing on the beach, he is now assigned to guard the new Earth Federation Ambassador, and her cat! When he realizes that he will be guarding Keomi, his ex, and the woman he fell for fifteen years ago, he decides he won't let her get away from him again.
Wonderful characters, I especially enjoyed Luna (Lunatic) the kitten. They are all well written, and unique though. Unexpected twists in the plot, action, a mystery, and a happily ever after. Great book.

A fantastic character-driven story, Keomi is the magnet that holds this story together. Her backstory is pure underdog goodness and her adventures in space are an obvious extension of that. She has something to prove she thinks, chasing her dream, feeling held back, knowing what she was up against. Then she is thrown back to earth, so to speak, and being thrown back together with Jehan brings her back to herself. But someone is trying to kill her so there's the added tension of that along with that chip on her shoulder that makes this story such a satisfying thrill to read. I know I should mention Lunatic because the cat is an actual character with more than a walk-on role. I read it in one go, I need to read Bella's next, I hope it's out already!

I love Lili and her alien books. Alien in Charge is no different. She brings two characters together that have off-the-top chemistry together. Then when you least expect it you have a hilarious cat to the mix.
Keomi and Jehan had a relationship before now and always wondered 'what if'. Now Jehan has to play bodyguard to Keomi and neither is happy about it. But they can not ignore the sparks or constant push and pull they have.

What it means to be me
What an amazing story! Each book in this series sends me off into the stars on a grand adventure that I don’t want to end. I love how what seems like a slap in the face at first becomes a dream come true. The characters are fantastic! They are so endearing and I can’t help but get dragged into their lives and invested in the outcome. The author kept the story moving with action and danger and a cat that has that elusive sixth sense. This book is a wonderful weekend read and I can’t wait to see what happens next!

Hot and adorable
Keomi has struggled all her life just because she was born on the wrong plant. It was the proverbial "wrong side of the tracks". No one believed that anyone from that planet could succeed. She proved them wrong when she became a Captain of a spaceship that explores planets for the Federation. She is a human.
Jehan met Keomi in a Federation training program fifteen years ago. He is a different species of alien and they were not allowed to be together.
Now she is being sent as an Ambassador to his planet. Someone does not want her to succeed. Someone is trying to kill her and now Jehan is supposed to be her bodyguard.
Oh and there is a cat named Luna who likes to interfere and make her presence known. She is adorable!!

This was a spectacular fun fast read. I adored the characters so much and the were beautifully written. The story keeps your attention from beginning to end as well. Two thumbs up 👍 👍

This is actually book 2
Alien in charge is actually book 2. It is a continuation on ALIEN TO THE RESCUE (not available on amazon but only available on lili Zander’s website) it is free it tells the story of DIMEK & MINA I read the first one months ago the blurb of a kitten playing jingle balls on the 1ST shield of Gehar DEMIK’s (blue balls) hysterical! The tiny kitten is GROUCH..Ohmygawd so funny! it was a free book and was too impossible to pass up. Now I’m addicted! Dimek is the 1st Sheild of Gehar. Mina is a Historian studying the Gehan race and their culture. So ok, about.. book 2 (listed on amazon as book 1) “ALIEN IN CHARGE” is just as good. I would have loved another attack of kitten verses blue balls with lil’ Luna (short for lunatic) but that would mean the author repeating herself. And we can’t have that, can we? But Luna does not disappoint nor do her humans it is yet again another awesome love story and fight against adversity. Someone keeps trying to murder the new human ambassador Keomi aka KAE and the only one who can save her is her teenaged sweetheart. JEHAN, Whom she left behind 15 years ago.
He is also the brother of Dimek and the 2nd Sheild of Gehar. This story is a fast & slow burn. It has all the good stuff....Passion, intrigue, murder, love friendship ......kittens with CATtatude
Cant wait for BELLA & ADON’s story I’m hoping for another kitten with CATTITUDE. I saw the cover and yes there is a kitten... and I read the blurb Bella sings to the kitten. It is a beauty and the beast type story. As Adon was disfigured and lives in recluse at the clan family’s compound. Bella is supposed to befriend Adon and draw him back into life. I can’t wait for it. Release date, July 2021

Alien in Charge is yet another book that I got free during a promotion. It is of the Sci-fi romance genre featuring a hot alien and a human woman.
The story starts off well. I get a sort of Alien vibe (obviously, it’s about Aliens – I mean the movie with Sigourney Weaver). Unfortunately, this doesn’t last much longer as it becomes quite a typical semi-erotic book, not including the aliens of course.
Don’t get me wrong, the book does have potential but it needed a really good edit amongst other things. I tried to ignore it as I try to look past little things but it was more repetitiveness than anything else – there were so many times that the main character (who’s name I can’t even pronounce) reminds us that she’s a space fleet captain and both main characters let the reader know nearly every single paragraph that they’ve been waiting 15 years for this. I was unsure about certain things too, like they weren’t explained very well. For example, she says that when she was 7 she had her fleet exam, in the next sentence she talks about getting with Jehan! At 7?! Later on it says Jehan was 18 and they are meant to be about the same age so I am guessing it was just an editing mistake but still, 7!
Also, I didn’t understand how Kae was so stubborn in her inner monologue saying how she just couldn’t get involved with Jehan because of her job and then in the next breath she just jumps into bed with him, or should I say onto the kitchen worktop.
It was very political too which I can imagine could bore many readers, myself included.
Like I said. It definitely has potential but needs a lot of work.

Alien in Charge is the first book in the Warriors of Gehar series. Keomi, Captain of her own Space Fleet team, is unexpectedly sent to be an ambassador - she never expects her life to be in danger. Jehan is the Second Shield of Gehar, rich, famous, and carefree, and now a bodyguard to the woman who got away years ago. As they navigate the dangers surrounding Keomi, they also need to navigate their future, but will love be enough to keep her on his planet?
This book was so fun! I absolutely loved Keomi and Jehan, plus little Luna. I loved their interactions, the ways they tried to protect their hearts, the dangers they faced, and ultimately, how they needed to learn to go all in and trust their hearts to each other. Keomi has always had to struggle to prove herself, fighting a battle that was her parents’ dream, so I loved her determination and how tough and strong she was. I think my favorite part, though, was watching her realize what her dreams might look like. Jehan was interesting because he portrayed this playboy lifestyle, but could fight and defend and protect better than most. I loved the ways he made Keomi laugh and let loose, and I loved the ways that proved to her that they could be enough together. I liked their passion and their fight and their drive! I also liked some of the cultural differences we found within this book, too! The danger had me flipping through pages, but it was truly the connection that formed between Jehan and Keomi that had me hooked! I loved this book! I am so excited to see more from this creative world and from Ms. Zander.

Okay I have to be honest I read the second book in the series first, when beast is in the title I can't seem to help myself. I decided to try this series because Lili Zander was a part of the duo who wrote Rebel Force and I absolutely loved that series!! I am happy to say I have not been disappointed. I enjoyed the story of Keomi and Jehan they both met when they were 18 and at the academy had a torrid affair and larger ways. Both never got over the other but Keomi out her career first because of her background and his hard she worked to achieve her goals. Keomi finds out that one of her retired crew died on a planet she and her team found terraforming it for humans to live in. She and the rest of her crew decide to retrieve his body and stumble upon something far worse then they ever thought possible. On her way to her new assignment in the Gehar cluster she is attacked and from them on its a non stop ride not who is trying to kill Keomi and why!? Jehar is out in charge of her personal safety and realizes right away really that he was never going to let her go again. While solving the murder attempts these two grow closer and closer. Sometimes unexpected life turns are the best surprises
Keomi and Jehan’s story was so good. It is a hot suspenseful romance that hooks you in, takes you along for an exciting, intriguing, and sexy ride and keeps you enthralled until the very end. Keomi is a captain of a fleet vessel in the human federation. She is temporarily assigned to be an ambassador to the Gehar Empire. Unfortunately, someone tries to kill her the moment she arrives. Jehan is the Second Shield of Gehar and has been assigned to protect the new Ambassador. He is unhappy about the assignment until her meets her and realizes it is Keomi, who he had a secret love affair with 15 years ago. Life pulled them apart all those years ago but fate has brought them together again for a second chance. On their way to their HEA, they’ll have to figure out if their disparate lives can be joined while dealing with assassination attempts and trying to uncover who’s behind them. The story includes what you’d expect from this genre - sweet moments, steamy encounters, dangerous situations, evil masterminds, henchmen, loyal friends and family, tragic back stories, political intrigue, plot twists, and laughs. Despite being a shorter book, the story was well written and included witty dialogue, characters with depth, and an interesting storyline. I am excited to read more in the series.
Keomi and Jehan’s story was so good. It is a hot suspenseful romance that hooks you in, takes you along for an exciting, intriguing, and sexy ride and keeps you enthralled until the very end. Keomi is a captain of a fleet vessel in the human federation. She is temporarily assigned to be an ambassador to the Gehar Empire. Unfortunately, someone tries to kill her the moment she arrives. Jehan is the Second Shield of Gehar and has been assigned to protect the new Ambassador. He is unhappy about the assignment until her meets her and realizes it is Keomi, who he had a secret love affair with 15 years ago. Life pulled them apart all those years ago but fate has brought them together again for a second chance. On their way to their HEA, they’ll have to figure out if their disparate lives can be joined while dealing with assassination attempts and trying to uncover who’s behind them. The story includes what you’d expect from this genre - sweet moments, steamy encounters, dangerous situations, evil masterminds, henchmen, loyal friends and family, tragic back stories, political intrigue, plot twists, and laughs. Despite being a shorter book, the story was well written and included witty dialogue, characters with depth, and an interesting storyline. I am excited to read more in the series.

Jehan D’arana, Shield of Gehar is allocated to protecting the new human ambassador to his planet and her cat Luna, which on the face of it seems like major overkill, but when he meets her everything changes for him as she is actually his ex. Keomi Hearne who he has yearned for over the last 15 years. Being alone with her seems to be impossible - the kitten is always there so he has no idea how he is going to make a move on her. Then the situation deteriorates as her work is being sabotaged, her staff is poisoned and her speeder is blown up. Suddenly Jehan needs to make it clear that he is in charge and nothing is going to keep him from protecting the woman he loves.
I enjoyed this story which had plots, history, romance and determination all of the way through. I loved the dynamic between Keo and Jehar and the way that they danced around what was patently obvious but needed them both to come to the right conclusion at the right time. I was relieved that all the plots were foiled and that Easy to read, feel and understand. Contains sexual content.

Koemi is in star fleet and she is the first captain from her planet. It was hard work to get there. Her and her crew are going to a planet that was supposed be a A grade planet for humans but something went bad and the hole research team is dead. But one of them was a old crew member so her and her team are going to retrieve his body they find out about some green worms plus they retrieved a data stick. But they koemi gets sent to a different planet to negotiate to get this planet to take more humans from decaying planets. Johanna doesn’t believe it the human he fell in love with fifteenth year’s ago but at the time with her career in star fleet and his responsibilities to his people they just had to leave each other. But know they have put together to protect her. So enjoy a good read and see how they solve what is going on and who is trying to kill her and if they get a HEA!!

I have to admit that I am biased towards this book because I love any story with kittens! Add in hot, bossy and possessive males? I am there!! Lili Zander (aka Tara Crescent) is a master storyteller. She is able to create wonderful, multi-faceted characters that you can’t help but hope they get everything they deserve (for better or worse!). Even the kitten, Luna (short for Lunatic), is an essential character in the story and it just wouldn’t be the same without her mischief making!
The world building is so detailed, you are transported across the galaxy to a fantastical place you won’t want to leave. Sexy scenes, drama, mystery and a great storyline came together in this book that I ended up reading in one night! I just can’t say enough good things about this book.

Keomi is strong and brave. She’s been working very hard to achieve her goals despite all the setbacks she’s facing because of her origin. I really liked her!
Jehan is strong, honorable and protective. He’s deemed a playboy by his people, but there is more to him than meets the eye.
I loved the development of their relationship. They met many years ago and had a short and passionate time but goals and responsibilities stood in the way of their happiness. Now it takes time to rebuild the trust between them, but in the end they get their second chance of HEA. Their chemistry was great and scorching hot.
Overall, the story is a great read filled with action, danger, drama, a cute and fun cat, humor, steam and wonderful characters.
I loved it and cannot wait for the next one!

What a story. Betrayal, attempted murder, politics and steamy chemistry. Keome is a Space Fleet officer from a "black sheep" planet. She has more than earned her promotion and has been passed over many times. She and her crew go to retrieve the remains of a fallen teammate and find frightening worms eating the man. They retrieve him and leave and Keome is sent as a Ambassador to Gehar. She sees Jehan again. They haven't seen each other in years. All of the feeling of the past come back for both of them. Jehan is told that he will be her body guard. Someone is trying to Keome and no one knows why. A great story. Betrayal, action, romance, and a kitten.

Lunas rules
I loved this book. I could not put it down.
Keomi and Jehan were together 15 years ago. Both knew it was temporarily, but when Keomi left Jehan realised what he had lost.
Jump forward 15 years and Keomi has been put on an unexpected assignment. To a post she has no training for by a commander who wants her to fail.
Fortunate circumstances bring them back together as Keomi's life is threatened.
The twist and turns of the plot, charismatic characters, care and attention to the story detail and a little furry Lunatic who is an excellent judge of character meant I inhaled this story and could not put my kindle down.
I loved the banter, story nuances and feelings imbedded in each page.

DNF - quit at 24%
The flow was entirely to slow as well as choppy & this just didn’t pull me into the story. The lead-in made no sense to me for how it would relate towards the story directly, not to mention that part felt more like a sci-fi horror story. I almost quit based on the horror aspect, before going any further. There was just too much political stuff going down after that horror stuff -which I hate any book based with either politics or horror. I also just didn’t find the main characters likable or relatable to want to continue to read about them.
At my age (approaching 60), life is way too short & my time is too important to force myself to read a book I'm not enjoying, especially when there are so many other books out there waiting to be read.

Argh!
How did this get so many high ratings?
I get some like soft-porn disguised as a story, done well I sometimes don’t mind.
But this is presented as sc-fi-romance, action.
It’s not.
She hasn’t been on planet for more than a day, hasn’t seen the guy for 15 years, but all too happy to have sex, run around in lingerie in front of strangers. Is supposed to be an experienced ship captain, but is soo helpless and greatful for others to take control.
Supposedly can’t do or think about work, too distracted by thoughts of sex… really?
It’s so preposterous and ridiculous. Soft porn, for submissive women.
On it’s own, nothing wrong with. But it’s how it’s presented, what it pretends to be that bugs me.

This is a great story about a very strong woman from somewhere where people are poor and looked down upon. Her parents worked hard to give her the dream of being in space and unfortunately they passed away before they could see her dream realized. She worked her way up in space fleet to captain her ship before she was selected for an ambassadorship in Gehar. Jehan is the second Shield of Gehar and is assigned to protect the new ambassador. They had a steamy relationship while both attended a Federation training program 15 years ago and both never forgot each other. Can they take up where they left off? This book has lots of steamy romance, action and is very easy to read but hard to put down.

Unique Alien Romance, Great World Building
Let's face it, there are only so many ways to write a romance. Alien romance gives the author a chance to build a world with non-human customs, creating conflict and situations the human heroine has never faced. Gehar society is fascinating. Male Geharans are dominant but their culture requires consent and avoiding power imbalance in relationships. Jehar has loved Keomi for 15 years. When her life is endangered he steps in to protect her. Yet he refuses to use her vulnerability to seduce her. As in the first book about his brother, available from the author's website, Jehar gets clear consent before he declares himself. Just a wonderfully satisfying book and steamy romance...and Luna the cat is hilarious.

Jehan has been tasked with protecting Kae. She is the ambassador visiting and already been targeted and nearly lost her life.
Kae according to Jehan is beautiful and the love of his life. He knows that when they were a secret couple fifteen years ago she did not want anyone to find out. She has worked hard to get where she is. It is an uphill battle every day because although she has proved herself to her superiors time and time again the prejudice against her kind is unrelenting and sometimes unbearable. He wants to change her mind about the secret aspects regarding them but he also. wants her to be happy which means he might eventually have to let her go. Great story that I thoroughly enjoyed.

I love second chance love stories, and it is easy to understand why Keomi and Jehan would choose to go their separate ways at eighteen. Keomi is a great female role model, as captain of a federation star ship she has reached most of her goals. But she has also been subjected to biases too. Jehan has achieved a lofty title of Second Shield of Gehar, but he is also known as a playboy which adds some angst. In addition to the romance we also get some death defying action from a mysterious baddie. And did I mention the feline comic relief. Great read that feels much bigger than it’s page count.
