Sapphire Betrayal

Rate this book
My mortal enemy seduced me in disguise. The aftermath of this betrayal has left me scarred, narrowly escaping the fury of a goddess driven by jealousy. My path is now a race against to rescue Isis before Hera's schemes reach her, to unearth the Emerald Tablet, and to cast a spell that could break the chains binding Sitri to Zeus. This mission is a gamble to halt Zeus's dire plan to extinguish magic from our world, with his merciless, winged hunters ready to strike.Surrounded by allies—a fearsome hellhound, a steadfast fallen angel, and a gathering of shadowed, forsaken deities—I wield a fragile hope. Yet, as we confront legions of the undead and a deity fueled by vengeance, our resolve is battered, and our strength tested to its limits. It's in this crucible of conflict that our bonds are forged and tested, with fleeting moments of stolen peace hinting at a love that dares to blossom amidst chaos. In a desperate ploy, I'm thrust into the underworld's depths, seeking an audience with the enigmatic Hekate. From her, I gain a power so profound it promises to shift the balance in our favor—a weapon against the darkness, against Hera herself. But the road to victory is fraught with loss and peril, painting every victory with shades of sacrifice. As the dust settles, I'm left to ponder the cost of our war, the lives altered, and the world reshaped by our actions. Amidst the ruins of our battle, I stand as the last hope, a beacon in the dark for those who remain. The fight to save magic, to protect those we love, and to forge a future from the ashes of old gods and new threats, is far from over. And in this uncertain world, the only certainty is the courage found in the heart of the storm, and the light of romance that refuses to be extinguished."The suspense and excitement continues! The title clearly states what’s going to happen in this book, but I denied it all till the very end. We see the aftermath of the betrayal and awful thing that Kai discovered in the last installment. I just wanted to hold Kai and gosh often times I wanted to slap and yell at Kai a few times for her hesitation on certain matters. Like ending someone’s life. He shall not be named.
Hera and Kai’s battle was great to witness and that ending!! Can’t wait to see what happens next. I hope the fates know what they are doing.

Where is # 5

I was under the impression that this was a 4 book series. However, as I go closer to the end, I realized there had to be more. I've enjoyed this series. I had some issues with 3 & 4, but I've enjoyed it enough to want to finish it out. Please drop the next book as soon as possible. Great work.

Sapphire Betrayal is the entertaining fourth book in the series about mythological gods and a girl with powers from the Fates. This is a good book, but there were moments that had me practically screaming at the main character for hesitating to act at crucial moments. The ending has me anxiously awaiting the next audiobook.

The narrator of the audiobook series is pretty good, but I found her voice a little grating this time around.

I received a complimentary copy of this audiobook. This is my honest and voluntary review.

Book 4 review

I enjoyed the story but having to wait for book 5 is going to be very difficult I like to read all of my books one after another until they are all complete so I’ll have to wait and see when this one’s going to come.

Just when Kai thought she was getting closer to Istri she found out she had been ravaged by Zeus who as a shapeshifter took the form of Istri. She wanted to kill him more than ever but Istri's thread was entwined with his and cutting Zeus' thread meant she would kill the one she loved plus so many others. Hera was also on the warpath and she was her victim, as well as becoming a pawn in the God's eternal game. She knew she had to find Isis in order to be able to read the Emerald Tablet to free the threads and save Istri. She travelled in search of Isis but Hera got there first and as she was taken captive she found out exactly how truly betrayed and invaded she had been by Zeus. Both he and his wife are truly obnoxious monsters, cruel and without conscience, treating humans like chattel. In this book Kai finds herself at Hera's mercy, of which she gets none, and on her own except for the help from Isis in the underworld. I loved this very exciting book, the different rivers of the underworld, and the experiences poor Kaidance goes through and I am really looking forward to the ending of what has been a truly magical and mythological series. Hopefully Zeus will be killed in the last book and the world freed from the grip of the Gods!

Starting off strong with the first chapter that drags on about Kai’s night that she left Zeus in her “bedchamber” like dude, again why are you calling it that. He literally raped her and one of the lines was about how she hated how she liked it… um what?? I know she was tricked and thought it was Sitri but still I feel like this whole chapter and plot point was written so poorly.

I hated the take of gods and goddesses mixing Greek mythology and Egyptian mythology it kinda got on my nerves. Not to mention that killing a god or goddess apparently had little to no repercussions. Also I know Hera is always the villain in books and she doesn’t have a good track record in mythology but she seemed particularly unhinged in this.

I just didn’t care for the characters in this, they were way too juvenile for the plot that was pushed onto them. The adventure aspects of this book were nice though.

Manipulation, Shocks & Losses!😡😲😭
Kai Is Getting Stronger.🙏💪✂
Sapphire Betrayal (Fated Destruction Book #4)

As belittled & violated as Kai often felt during this instalment, she also managed to grow in confidence & self reliance.👍 Able is a dichotomy, he's a master manipulator without care even as he shows compassion and understanding.💔 Stephanie shows the most sensitive & empathetic emotions any of the God's have to date. Jessie takes on a huge new role within Naveh that's a bigger shock to her than anyone!🙏🌹 Sarah might become viewed as a pawn or a threat.😲

I had thought this was the final book in this series but there's one more to come.🎉😍

Of Murphy's many works, this series is definitely my favorite, so I was really excited to get the next installment. And it was worth the wait! The characters I've grown to love were there being themselves and we continue to watch our heroine grow into her powers. I remain amazed at the elaborate world-building of this universe of magic and pagan gods.

There is apparently going to be just one more book in this series. Part of me can hardly wait to read the conclusion, which I'm sure will be stunning; part of me never wants it to end!

4.5 stars. I love this series. It’s so heartwarming to me. It’s 100% my comfort series. I do think that the first book was by far the best and the 3rd and 4th didn’t hold up to it or the second (which I also thought was great) but I fucking love it. I’m praying the next book comes out. And I’m not religious. I need the next book to come out or I will root. Set the world ablaze. I really thought this was the last book. I’m glad it’s not but also nervous the 5th will never come since these amazing books are sadly not popular. Anyways I love this series.

good book. Was shorter than usual. i would liked it to have ended with this one. It does not. Follow a trip to Greece to contend with Hera and rescue Isis. As usual, the trip doesn't go as planned but there are a few surprises along the way.

This was an interesting continuation of this story, but this book was much darker than the rest of the series so far. I still enjoyed it, but I am hoping things look up a bit more in the next book. I can't wait to listen to the next story!
