With multiple versions catalogued, I was not able to find the LA Theatre Works radio theater version here on Goodreads. My review is for this version that I listened to via Hoopla. Because one of my daughters was assigned to read Macbeth for her highschool British Classics class this year, I thought an audio version would be just the thing to give me "the gist" of Shakespeare's tragedy. What stood out most echoed my daughter's summation: "there were a lot of murders". The multiple voices meant to aid in understanding, actually added to my confusion. This was a dark story with much satanic rituals and witches' advice being followed in blatant disregard for human life. Anyone familiar with Shakespeare's works know to proceed with an open mind before reading/listening to them. Personally, the horrors that took place in Macbeth, with the radio theater version I listened to have impressed upon me that I have no desire at all to read a printed, unabridged edition. Parent Guide: Strongly Cautioned.
