A bullheaded alpha. The bane of my existence. I can’t escape him no matter how hard I try.
Emma… I don’t do feelings. Especially not with an arrogant, broody Taylor brother. But one moment of weakness on an elevator wrecks me. I curse his name. I curse said elevator. Yet I find myself wanting to be trapped in a small space with Spence Taylor again. And don’t even get me started on his day job. The man can do just about anything with those hands. Those big hands, and er—big feet. I digress.
Spence… Emma Kingsley is the most infuriating woman I’ve ever known. Stubborn, arrogant, and sexy as sin. She drives me crazy. And she’s determined to hate me. The funny thing is—I can’t get enough. But the woman has more walls up than the royal palace. Lucky for her, I make a living tearing down walls. And I just found my favorite project. Time to renovate, Queenie.
Willow Aster is a USA Today Bestselling Author of emotional, angsty love stories with a side of quirk. She is co-writer of The End of Men series with Tarryn Fisher and co-writer of the G.D. Taylors series with Laura Pavlov.
This series is everything. Pure comedic perfection. I have giggled SO MUCH while reading these books!!
In book 2 of this series we get the Grump himself, Spence Taylor and the mouthy lawyer, Emma. I love all her names for him. Goodness! I think I highlighted every one of them 😁😂 He had some dingers too! Holy Batman, it's funny!!
I adored Jesse in book 1, but this new Taylor brother has stolen the show! Gosh, Spence is the man!! He is broody and aloof, but in fact he is the sweetest and most caring fella. Mama's boy through and through.
I loved the banter and sparring between this couple so so much. The chemistry was fire! They brought out the best and worst in each other. Emma is fragile on the inside, but her attitude makes her seem like she is made of titanium. In fact she is not. There are only a handful of people that she truly lets see her. Never one to be weak or ask for help.
Slowly, little by little... Spence is able to crack her hard exterior and show her that it's ok to trust.. to hope... to maybe even love.
This was a sweet and fun rom-com! Can't wait to read about the next Taylor brother!!

Willow Aster and Laura Pavlov have created a world I never want to leave. One full of hilarity, family high jinks, and scorching chemistry. The Bold and the Bullheaded is the perfect mix of laugh out loud fun and moving romance. You don’t want to miss this romcom!
Well this series just keeps getting more and more GD fantastic. I’m officially obsessed with the whole GD Taylor crew and their antics. Clever and witty, deliciously sexy, amply swoony, and chock full of charming characters- this is everything you want in a rom-com series. I couldn’t stop grinning at this adorable enemies to lovers story.
Our GD hero this time is the stoic and responsible oldest brother Spence, and his awkward turtle situation with Emma, the best friend of his brother’s girlfriend, which means these two comically can’t escape each other. The problem is that these two had a little drunken dalliance that neither can forget- so instead they just act like they hate each other to not have to confront their confusing feelings for each other. Cue all the hilarious and heated banter and ample sexual tension- it was SO yummy. I was desperate for them to cave!
The characters in this series are just all so fantastic- the authors give us little surface level glimpses into who they are and add rich complexity page after page- the result is a quirky and funny character that has dynamic depth and full dimensionality. Emma is perhaps their best yet- I loved this girl so fiercely and related to both her resolute need for independence as well as her fear in loving and relying on others- all catalyzed by her abandonment issues. But despite having some real fragility and emotional vulnerability, she’s also strong and feisty- she doesn’t want or need a prince charming. She wants a partner she can trust and rely on. And she shockingly finds that in Spence- her frenemy turned lover. On the surface, like the other GD Taylors, he’s a bit bro-tastic, but his alpha swagger belies the sensitive and tender heart that beats at his core. He’s so sweet, so generous and understanding- stick a fork in my, I’m swooned. Together they are dynamite - full of spark and energy, even if slightly dangerous, but also stable and powerful. I just loved them together- the angst of getting there, the sweetness when they found each other, the bumbling ways they learned to communicate and be partners.
Like our last story, we also get plenty GD Taylor fun- but we also get to hang out with Emma’s fantastic chosen family, and their antics rivaled that of the Taylors. Normally I find too large of an ensemble distracting, but here the characters are so enchanting and add so much to the story, that I wouldn’t trade a minute with a single one.
This series is just so much fun- full of laughs, full of heartfelt moments, and full of swoony feels. It’s fair to say, I GD love this series and all of it’s charm.

The Bold and The Bullheaded is book two from the G.D. Taylor Series. This is an enemies to lovers romance between Spence Taylor and Emma Kingsley. It can be read as a standalone. Their journey was easy to read, entertaining, and unpredictable.
Emma is witty, intelligent, and a ball buster, but she also can be kind, has some insecurities and can be a lot of fun when she doesn't have her walls up. She has some family issues that go way back to childhood and left her scarred. While Spence is level headed, can be broody (especially when his siblings rub him the wrong way), hard working, an alpha, and low key caring. He's met his match in Emma.
These two had a ton of chemistry, sexual and otherwise. Their love/hate relationship almost seems like their own personal foreplay at times, although I never really understood why they hated each other in the first place. Spence had his work cut out for him when it came to Emma, she doesn't make it easy to be with her. But in the words of Theodore Roosevelt; "Nothing in the world is worth having or worth doing unless it means effort, pain, difficulty…" and Spence knows Emma is worth it all.
This was my first read by Aster and Pavlov and they didn't disappoint. I look forward to getting to know these G.D. Taylor's better. I especially love the Taylor family banter and the close knit relationship they have.
Just when I thought I couldn’t love another GD TAYLOR, Willow & Laura go and write Spence’s book!! I knew when Wanted Wed or Alive ended that it would be game on for Spence & Emma. This is salty vs spicy, with a mix of sexy hilariousness! If you love enemies to lovers then trust me when I say that this is your ticket!!
I'm sorry but this book doesn't work for me😂😂😂 I have to read almost halfway through the book that the hero and heroine go on dates with someone elses, like the hero even do it after the heroine kissed him and he said yes on the date because he thinks it's right. Like wtf. Moron. They do this dates while both can't stop thinking about each other. The heroine is scared but want her at the same time which is frustrating, the hero scared about his own feelings and confused too about his feelings towards the heroine so that's why he push the heroine away when she kissed him. She even ask why. Like girl if i were you, i run away and never look back at a man like that cause it's stupid. I read the story because of the brothers being so amazing but this one is such a disappointment. I stop reading it after the heroine went on a date with someone else and she was jealous of remembering the hero went on a date with someone else. To me this is going to be a annoying book to read cause I don't like the heroine and hero went on a date with those people. They didn't have s* with those people but still... It happened. The hero even go on this dates like three freakin times while he was thinking about the heroine and even got jealous when he saw her with someone else. The hero even told one of his dates after they talk it through and decides to be friends to pretend to be his date again so that can made the heroine more jealous!!!! the heroine is more possessive to the hero than he is to her which is not cool for me. I want the hero that is more POSSESSIVE, not the heroine like come on. Such a bummer. See? Too much unnecessary drama that for me is not worth my peace of mind. FOR ME THOUGH. Don't blame me lol. I don't support a hero who knows the heroine is fragile but likes to add more headache to her when she doesn't deserve that. Of course she goes on dates like one time because the hero FIRSTS go on those dates with those woman. The heroine even have to see it from a war. Moron hero. I lost count on how many times I wish I was there and magically spell some prince to take the heroine and let that hero see that!! Yes I said a prince. Big hotshot date for the heroine. Also the heroine and hero start off as enemies and bickering all the freakin time they meet. So it's not a love in first sight, and I don't like that because the hero's brothers like guss and jesse they have this amazing love in first sight. This hero right here doesn't have that with the heroine. So it made me think and when I read it, the chemistry about these two is low and just not romantic enough for me. How there's even a connection of love when both are always runs away with their true feelings and just go on dates with someone elses... even when I read it, like their connection is just very low. Where's the freakin romance😆😆 also the hero have the biggest ego so its making him more annoying character than ever.
Hopefully the next book will be better than this one.
And author please stop with the hero having many girls liking him when the heroine deserve that too you know.... It annoys me so much when I read that the heroine doesn't have many guys tries to flirt with her, liking her. It's always the guys that have many woman liking them and flirts this and that and have a great ex girlfriend😡😡 like the detailed on the ex girlfriend looks like is more a perfect list than the heroine. SO NOT FCKING FAIR DUDE. THE FCK. HELLO the woman deserve that too you know and deserve even better!!!
I don't like it so much when authors makes the heroine looks so weak and pathetic woman when they supposed to write a strong successful amazing woman!!!!! 😌 Well this heroine on this book is successful have a great job, but her personality and her feelings is so weak which annoys me so much. So hard to find great book these days with heroines that is so much better😒😒😒😒😒
👉🏽👉🏽👉🏽Thank you so much for reading my review❤️❤️ For you who loves my review and follow it, THANK YOU SO MUCH. I did not get paid or be told to do a review on a book. I’m here just to write review about a book so i can remember it. Its my honest opinion😚 I didn’t know at first people will find me and follow me and trust me to be honest, I was surprised myself to look at the notifications from people who reach out to me😆 So everything i write down here on a review is based on my personal opinion and based on my true writing. I DID NOT COPY SOMEONE’S REVIEW OR WRITING SKILL because at first when i was using this app for one year i didn’t know how to scroll down on a book and see the reviews from others😂😅🤣 I know, silly me but hey I finally learned my lesson 😛😛😛 Thats why when people assume i copy someone’s review i was like what? Because at first i didn’t know how to use this app properly and i didn’t know how to open someone’s review because for a year i never follow someone or add friends or someone😂😂😂🤣 (I’m laughing so hard) 🤪 AND I NEVER COPY SOMEONE’S REVIEW EVER. IF I WRITE SOMETHING WRONG OR DOESN’T MAKE SENSE PLEASE LET ME KNOW AND BE NICE OKAY. 👈🏽👈🏽👈🏽✋🏽✋🏽
I have a disclaimer down bellow if you have negative thoughts about my review😙😙😙
🌐🌐🌐➡️↘️⬇️➡️This is my own personal thoughts and opinion about the book so if thats not sit right with you or you feel I’m not being fair blablabla, please know that everybody in this world have their own different things that they like and don’t like. It may not be the same thing with you but thats okay because i am my own person and you cannot control me or tell me what to do. For example; i put ketchup (tomato sauce) on my fried chicken. You think that’s disgusting? For me its not and i’ve been eating it like that for many many years. You tell me to put another sauce and see if i like that better? I already did many many times in years but i still like the way i like it. It’s called differences between me and you and billions people in this world😊 be open minded😙 I respect people’s opinions about my opinions but in the end of the day if i say I don’t like it or i do like it, its up to me and its on me. And in the end of the day i always liked and show my respect to books and people’s opinions on books whenever that book is good or not good in my opinion 😊 Respect people’s opinions guys😙😙 I don’t want to write this down because its not really my thing to do it. To like address something like this when obviously i know the people who’s been reading my reviews many times and all the time, they are smart enough to understand and respect other people’s opinions no matter what their opinions on book or their point of view 😙😙 am i right? 💕 also there are people even though i already write “this book is different because i have my own taste of book” those people still comment my taste is this and that when HELLO… everybody have their own thoughts on books and what they want to read… why i read it then? I read it and give it a review because i have to read a book to give it a review… why not read the description book to understand before I’m going to read it? Hello just in case you haven’t notice, description books can be tricky because they write this amazing things about a book but turns out the story is so toxic. Maybe for me its toxic but not for you? YES HELLO THATS WHY US HUMAN BEING HAVE OUR DIFFERENCES, WHAT I LIKE IT DOESN’T MEAN YOU WILL LIKE IT AND EITHER WAY TOO. why i still write the review then if i just don’t like a book? Because I CAN and i want to, you cannot tell me what to do and not what to do🤪 if you still wants to be negative and be karens about my review on book after all of what i just write, i will never acknowledge you and simply ignore you because its not that hard🙏 I won’t respond to negativity comments🙏🏼🙏🏼 DON’T ASK ME AGAIN ABOUT WHY NOT RESPONDING TO YOUR NEGATIVE COMMENTS BECAUSE I ALREADY SAY IT HERE AND I WON’T BE EXPLAINING AGAIN BECAUSE WE’RE NOT CHILDREN SO ITS NOT HARD FOR YOU AN ADULT TO UNDERSTAND😌😌 YES MY REVIEW IS LONG BUT YOU READ IT ANYWAY AND ITS FINE ACTUALLY I CAN WRITE AS LONG AS I LIKE😎 YES MY GRAMMAR IS BAD SOMETIMES AND MAYBE ALL THE TIME BUT LUCKILY MANY PEOPLE CAN UNDERSTAND WHAT I’M SAYING🤪 ⬅️↖️↕️⬅️↩️⤴️
What a GD amazing book from Willow Aster and Laura Pavlov! And if you want to know what this GD business is, you need to read this super sexy, uber funny and two hundred percent entertaining story! Trust me you won't be able to stop swooning and laughing till your stomach hurts and heart aches.
Spence and Emma cannot stand each other. Or is it something else in disguise? But the point is they cannot avoid is other because Emma's best friend is with Spence's brother. And the whole GD Taylor family is part of their lives. Emma has baggages. And Spence cannot stop thinking about that one drunken encounter.
This series stands apart because of the big cast of characters. Sure, Emma and Spence's sizzling hot connection and the emotional turmoil is the centrepiece. But the whole big family who love and live loudly makes this story ( in fact this series) so special. I keep thinking about their shenanigans even after closing the book and smiling. Emma's father and his rowdy friends, her yaya, the Taylor brothers...the whole list is amazing.
Now lets talk about Emma and Spence. Emma is a complete kicka$$ woman. She has been hurt and abandoned and so she has trust issues. Even though she has a great support system. And someone cocky and alpha and stupidly hot like Spence cannot be the right choice for her. But he is such a sweet and caring person inside and Emma gets to know him finally. They match each other at their wicked sense of humor and their back and forth banter was just hilarious. And that hides their magnetic sexual tension. Spence had his work cut out for him as Emma always think of the worst of every situation and keep on pushing everyone away. But this charming, dazzling, swoonworthy and totally delicious man broke her walls down. They are made for each other in the truest sense.
The Bold and The Bullheaded by Laura Pavlov and Willow Aster mixed and balanced deep emotions and lighthearted flirty moments so perfectly.
Two strong and stubborn personalities that collided for better and for worse.
Emma and Spence, oil and water, passionate about getting the other riled up and mostly to have the last word. This situation seemed on the outside utterly in control until their hearts didn’t get the memo, making things more complicated to handle.
Spence is a cocky and charming man with that big heart and his loud, funny and endearing family. Totally enraptured with Emma even though they were both in denial firsthand. There was a thin line between love and hate. An alpha guy with a softie side
Emma was a tough and badass lady, fierce and independent. A woman with quick wit and forthright repartee. Especially when it came to Spence. It seemed that they found their balance until the moment when he started to slightly pass through the walls and armour. Well too dangerous for her.
I enjoyed their banter since the moment they met, a little of angst with dry humor and entertaining. That safe zone where they were in denial about their feelings but I found it at times frustrating. I totally understood the issue about how they couldn’t really be together in the first place but it was just a little dragged out.
Hopefully the supportive characters (friends and family) made it more bearable and also gave a little lightness, hilarious and fun but knowing how to keep the main characters on their toes.
Overall, I enjoyed their story, full of passion and fun with endearing characters.
4.5 That Thin Line Disappeared Stars * * * * 1/2 Spoiler Free-A Quick Review If you love a big family that has multiple siblings and they are fun, snarky, and full of support for one another, then this book is for you.
If you love Kickass women, especially one who is everything smart, fun, sexy but may have a few trust issues, then this book is for you.
And if you love chemistry off the charts, people who fight the desire and then give in, and then see what they should have from the start...
Then I say, grab this book and enjoy, because you will get all of the above and more. Willow Aster & Laura Pavlov have become a writing team extraordinaire and we are the lucky ones.
“I’d rather fight with you than get along with anyone else.”
I just loves these Taylors so much! And after meeting Spence (a.k.a. Old Solemn) in the first book, I was really looking forward to his story & it did not disappoint! He and Emma have such an intense chemistry and the sparks were off the charts! I not only enjoyed watching their relationship build, but also equally loved getting to know them better. Willow and Laura are doing such a phenomenal job of building these characters and their writing is seamless! I cannot wait for Caden’s story and I’m so glad there’s more to come from these G.D. Taylors!
Emma has learnt in the most painful way possible that she needs to protect her heart. As a result, this has made her a very good lawyer but when it comes to those she allows close she is cautious but once she does, she is loyal and unwavering. Every time that she and Spence are in same room and only time will tell whether it is the antagonism or the chemistry that will win.
Spence and Emma find themselves in each other’s company regularly as his brother is involved with her best friend. She has mastered the art of pushing all his buttons to get a reaction from him and he can’t stop himself from returning the favor. It is when he sees the woman she is rather than the façade that she presents that fosters her determination to show her that trusting him with her heart will be the best decision she has ever made.
Humorous interactions, hot chemistry and all the feels as the relationship between Emma and Spence unfolds and there is a great cast of secondary characters that enhance the story.
Spence and Emma‘s story was fun, steamy and just overall good. I enjoyed their enemies to lovers story very much. I did get annoyed alot with Emma though. She is just soooo stubborn and some of her reasonings weren‘t really adding up. Her mother left her as a child and she was left to be raised by her father and his friends so she‘s as though as nails.
Spence is super sexy. He‘s the perfect gentleman. He almost had no troubled admitting his attraction to Emma.
I enjoyed The Bold and The Bullheaded. Willow and Laura did a great job in portraying Spence and Emma‘s story!
Another unputdownable book about the GD Taylors. I love this writing team and the family they have created. The whole book had me laughing; the banter was priceless! Emma’s long list of nicknames and Yaya with her stories are noteworthy.
There is a fine line between love and hate; Spence and Emma crisscross this line making their story fun to read.
I received an advanced copy from the Author; this is my voluntary review.
I loved Jesse and Mya's love story in book one of the series. I fell in love with Gus in book one. I liked Spence, but he wasn't really on my radar. Well, he is definitely on it now. Enemies-to-Lovers is one of my favorite tropes. Spence and Emma were a match made in heaven. The push-pull, the banter, and heat. It was all very very good and so satisfying.
Emma and Spence have been thrown into each other's orbit because Emma's best friend is dating/living with Spence's baby brother. These two are so much a like that they grate on each other's nerves and yet their chemistry is undeniable. Emma is terrified to give her heart away but Spence is patient and won't walk away no matter how hard she pushes.
I was laughing so dang much with this book. The banter between Emma and Spence was classic. The efforts that these two went to had me giggling. The siblings were down right hilarious and had me dying of laughter. I couldn't get enough of the family dynamic of this book. But Spence was freaking amazing. I adored how strong and patient he was with Emma. How he respected her walls while trying to break them down and protect her all at the same time. I am loving this series and cannot wait for the next installment.
I’ve been so excited for more of the GD brothers! Spence did not disappoint.
Spence and Emma were so darn fun! But their story also had so much heart and emotion. I really enjoyed their book. And I’m so happy to have more of these brothers and clues on their stories.
These two’s animosity towards each other was so funny! And their chemistry, sizzling! There was amazing banter and jealousy games, just thinking about it has me cracking up!
I had a few issues with Emma. Her attitude towards Spence was so unfounded and pissed me off a little. But she grew on me and my heart really did hurt for her and her story. But she did have amazing people in her life, I’m glad they helped open her eyes to reality and made her question her attitude on life and her relationship with Spence.
There is so much more to this story too! It was an incredible enemies to lovers romcom with just the right amount of heart and emotion.

Oh my God! This book was really good, a perfect pick if you love the enemies-to-lovers trope. This book kept me hooked. It was the perfect package I needed. A MUST READ!
Emma has always been guarded with her feelings because her life hasn’t really been easy. The people in her life may be a handful but their love for her is enough.
Spence being the eldest to his five siblings, sure did have a lot of responsibilities. I thought there would be a lot of drama as the family is quite big but it was just the opposite, everyone got along so easily.
I loved how she handled things.
The fire between Emma and Spence was hot! They may hate each other on the outside but deep down they were meant to be. Spence - he melted my heart. He did things he never did for anyone but just for her. They did a lot for each other.
Every Emma needs a guy like Spence. The way these two devils turn into angels for each other is crazy! I loved their story.
When I think about G.D brothers with Mya and Emma, all I see is strength and happiness. They are a pack that would die or kill for each other.
This is my first book from the Pavlov/Aster writing duo, and it won’t be my last! Though I’m not usually one for the enemies to lovers trope, Pavlov and Aster converted me. Spence and Emma’s banter was on fire, their hate for each other was so obviously a cover for their true feelings, their push-and-pull was so funny to read, and the payoff was brilliant.
But what I really loved about this book was how the characters grew — especially Emma. I loved who realized their feelings first (no spoiling it!). And I loved how Spence would move heaven and earth to take care of Emma.
This book deserves way more than the 5 stars I have to give it. So well done!
*Thanks to the authors for the ARC copy given in exchange for an honest review.*
I really enjoyed Emma and Spence's friends to lovers story. They say there is a fine line between love and hate, and Emma and Spence straddle that line as they snipe and bicker like and old married couple. Forced together more often because of Jesse and Mya's relationship, their hate erupts into feelings. Emma has trust issues. Spence just wants her to let him in. Add in a cast of characters and hilarious pranks, and they have the recipe to embrace the love they deserve.
If you're looking for a fun verbal sparring with undeniable fireworks, heartwarming, simmering love, and an enjoyable group of people to hang out with, I 100% recommend this book.
⚖ Enemies to lovers ⚖ Grumpy vs Grumpy ⚖ He's a real estate developer (who loves watching Hallmark movies, lol) ⚖ She's a young, promising lawyer ⚖ Mutual pining ⚖ Dual POV ⚖ Found Family ⚖ Fun Sibling Jesting ⚖ Solid Female Friendship

🏢 Witty banters between two smart and stubborn people.
🏢 How Emma and Spence are seemingly cold and grumpy but love their family and friends fiercely.
Another fun rom-com contemporary romance with the G.D. Taylors. There was some laugh out loud moments and plenty of snappy, witty dialogue. This is the second in the series and is a great edition to follow Jesse and Mya's story.
We find Spence (Grumpy Smurf, Solemn, Gruplestiltskin) unable to move past the moment he had with Emma at last year's Thanksgiving. It doesn't matter where he is she is too, he can't escape her. Emma avoided Spence after Thanksgiving because as much as she doesn't want to admit it there is something there, she doesn't do feelings, or relationships or anything complicated. Since she can't get away from Spence because of Jesse and Mya then she's just going to have to try to move on from him.
Despite that neither wants to admit to what is between them they can't stay away and the chemistry explodes. As they try to navigate the walls each has in place we find Spence is the much more willing of the two he just needs Emma to meet him halfway.
After her troubles at work, he finds he can't hold back any longer and goes behind her back only to try and help her. With her Dad's encouragement, he does what he thinks is right. To Emma though it is the ultimate betrayal. Her trust issues go deep and she may not be able to get past them no matter how much she realises she loves Spence.
From the first time they met (in the first book, Wanted Wed or Alive, about brother Spence's brother Jesse and Emma's bestie Mya), Spence and Emma sparked off each other. Oh sure, they grumped at each other and acted as if they hated each other, but, as soon becomes obvious, it was all a mask to at first just lust (fueled by an event neither wants to acknowledge again), but rapidly becomes so much more than that. But if Spence wants to get beyond Emma's walls, walls she's been building around herself for years, he's got his work cut out for him because she's not going to make it easy at all to find his way into her heart.
Enemies to lovers done right with witty, snarky dialogue and hot, hot chemistry. One grumpy alpha hiding a tender heart and one damaged, big-hearted heroine. I loved this G.D. brother and his snarky Queenie.
A duo I'll never get enough of! Thank you Laura and Willow for bringing us the GD Taylor's because I cannot get enough of these brother's even if I tried!
Each book can be read as a standalone but I highly recc you start from the beginning, Wanted Wed or Alive.
At the end of that book we see some tension sizzling between Spence and Emma. They have a hate-like thing going on. Where they had a moment in an elevator almost a year ago but since have never mentioned that blip in their façades.
Emma doesn't trust easily because of her personal family life. And Spence has the most amazing family and a huge caring heart.
They're both fighters and so butt heads a lot but the i-dont-want-to-like-you banter is the best between them. As they end up spending a lot of time crossing paths as her best friends is dating one of his brothers it causes then to grow closer in an unexpected way.
As they both see their true feelings for one another there's a tug of war to see if they'll ever try to be more than enemies. And once they do it's beautiful, however insecurities still lie beneath the surface and stubbornness gets in the way.
It was a light fun read! We get to see the whole GD clan together again and the wonderous Estelle we meet in Book 1! We also meet new characters like Yaya and Bernard who are a hoot!
I also adored the amount of family that was around even if it isn't in the traditional sense! It was a great read showing you that things don't have to be picture perfect for it to end the way you dream they would!
There's also a few laughs in between the pages and I do feel a little bad for Gus, but man I can't wait for his book but bring on Caden!
An ARC was provided in exchange for an honest review.
In the Bold and the Beautiful we get Emma and Spence’s story. Emma doesn’t do feelings and Spence is a broody grump and together they have intense chemistry - you can practically see fireworks shooting from them anytime they get near each other.
We were first introduced to them in Wanted Wed or Alive where sparks were already flying from the hate Emma was throwing Spence’s way. The names and insults continued in this book, so if you love enemies to lovers, you are in for a good time with the banter that flows fast and furious with these 2.
I cannot get enough of this world and the family antics that are just as much a part of the story as the romance is. But don’t let the hilarity in this book fool you. These friends and family have each other’s backs and are there to support, console, and give a reality check when needed.
Do yourself a favor and read this rom com series for some sexy, swoony fun. Both books in the GD Taylors series are available now in Kindle Unlimited and available for purchase.
Thank you to the authors for a #gifted arc. All opinions are my own.
Second book in this series, it’s not necessary to read the first one, it’s not a cliffhanger nor is it required reading. But after this book, I’m sure you’ll go back and read book one.
After a few pretty dark and angsty romances, I was really for a change of pace. And both the authors Laura Pavlov and Willow Aster will lighten your mood and make you smile with this book.
Emma is best friend to Mya (MC in “Wanted Wed or Alive” book 1) a lawyer, a hard working woman. So what if she comes over as being abrasive and hard! If you’d had a childhood like Emma, then wouldn’t you be a hard nosed woman? Too scared to love, and convinced that you aren’t loveable! But underneath all the prickles, is a woman who wants to be loved, who wants to be needed and cherished, but not smothered, she can fight her own battles, but maybe someone who could have her back.
Spence (Jesse’s brother MC in book 1) loves his brother dearly, truly he does, but the excess baggage in the form of his brother’s girlfriend’s best friend Emma Kinglsley is just too much! Her attitude, her snide comments and general manner just rubs Spence up the wrong way! Yeah, alright they shared an alcohol fuelled moment in the elevator, but come on, it wasn’t that memorable! (Then why is it on repeat play in his brain?) And now whenever she sees him, it’s the put down after put downs, it’s pet names that aren’t nice (but they are funny and plenty of them!) 😆 it’s fun to wind her up, but is there a fine line between hate/love? And why does he want to climb that high wall and see what’s there?
So what changed to bring about this wonderful story?
Their banter was like a long drawn out form of foreplay! You could feel the tension every time they were together. And when they do finally find in…. 😉 It’s then a case of one step forward two steps back!! Emma is too cautious, she won’t let that final piece of her wall down! Spence is caring and supportive, but it frustrates him when she won’t let him help. And the final straw for both of them is when she won’t talk to him about an incident at work!
Are they really that BULLHEADED, they can’t see what each other needs? Or will they be BOLD enough to take that final step?
Laughs a minute in this book, the brothers are pranksters, they will have you groaning with their cheesey comments and eye rolling at their advice for Spence. Love how the family are so close (too close sometimes) they all work together and live close to one another. Liked how they have each other’s back in a crisis. Spence’s brothers are hilarious, always trying to get one over on each other. Emma’s family are really great too (dad protective but firm) but she can’t see that they all love her.
So will Emma really let Spence into her heart? Or will she keep him at arms length like she has everyone else?
And we got a glimpse at the next brother to fall☺️ And I can’t wait.
Highly recommended this book and the previous one too.

I am leaving this review voluntarily after being sent a free book.
What is it with these swoony brothers falling for women who only give a piece of themselves and keep one foot out the door. ::sigh::
First off, these brothers are the best. They are so hilarious, and their banter and pranks are a riot. The endless nicknames and curse word substitutes will have you in stitches. I love that Spencer (AKA Grumperton and Old Solemn) is also a Hallmark loving softy. These brothers are all completely different personalities, but all just gooey marshmallows inside.
We knew these two were going to be explosive, as no one bickers and banters like they did without having a bunch of passion behind it. And they did not disappoint.
We met Emma in the first book, and like her friend Mya, she has baggage that she refuses to let go off. Parts of this story were hard and frustrating to read. Not because it was written poorly, quite the opposite. Because trauma makes people do things that don’t always make sense. Things like pushing away the decent people who actually want to love you, and NOT pushing away the ones who have caused the trauma in the first place. We see her let her deadbeat addict mom take advantage of her as she stands up and begs for scraps of affection and attention, and then see her push away the guy willing to move mountains for her and keep him at arm’s length. It’s hard to watch it taking place. I felt so many emotions, and my heart hurt for Spence so many times. And Emma at times. But mostly Spence.
I will admit that I was super frustrated with the way she handled the whole harassment from the senior partner, even if it is unfortunately the way it too often happens in reality. Fun fact ladies- it’s not proving your independence when you allow a sleezeball to make passes at you and continue with derogatory comments. It’s not proving you are strong when you don’t do ANYTHING proactively to stop it, or even use the words “stop.” By saying nothing, you’re saying it’s OK. And it’s not. Not only that, but even if you’re ok with allowing it to continue and “toughing it out” the next woman might not be. She has the potential support of a familiar senior partner - one who ABSOLUTELY would have believed her and supported her. The next woman might not. I wanted to shake her for so many chapters over it, and hated that she hurt Spence over it. I sort of hated Emma over it actually. The author did a great job pulling those emotions out of me though! Obviously she eventually quit standing in her own way and realized what she was throwing away. But dang, did it take a minute!
I love these brothers. Seriously the pranks are top notch 😂 This family is a blast. I’m crossing fingers that the remaining brothers don’t follow suit and chase a girl that spends the entire book self sabotaging and pushing him away. I don’t know if my emotions can take it again.
