The closer one gets to the truth, the more pernicious and fragile it becomes …
The mystery and intrigue of Honeysuckle Island continues with Sheriff Ian Russell. As Ian struggles to come to terms with his heartache and anger over Lina’s betrayal and then disappearance, he meets newcomer Sadie Thomas, a feisty blonde who sweeps into town like a fresh breeze. Charming and fun to be around, Sadie has a way with the customers at the local seafood house where she works as a server.
However, Sadie seems awfully interested in the disappearance of Brent Allen, Ian’s former deputy. Ian begins to wonder what secrets Sadie is hiding beneath her keen wit and easy smile.
As he sets out to learn more about this fascinating woman who’s quickly claiming his heart, Ian finds himself drawn into a web of deception that could not only destroy him, but also rock the foundation of Honeysuckle Island and all that he holds dear.
Welcome to Honeysuckle Island … where secrets abound and love and hope work together to find a place where the heart can belong.
Jennifer loves reading and writing clean romance. She believes that happily ever after is not just for stories. Jennifer enjoys interior design, rollerblading, clogging, jogging, and chocolate. In Jennifer’s opinion there are few ills that can’t be solved with a warm brownie and scoop of vanilla-bean ice cream. Jennifer grew up in rural Alabama and loved living in a town where “everybody knows everybody.” Her love for writing began as a young teenager when she wrote stories for her high school English teacher to critique. Jennifer has a BA in English and Social Sciences from Brigham Young University Hawaii where she served as Miss BYU Hawaii. Before becoming an author, she worked as the owner and editor of a monthly newspaper named The Senior Times. She now lives in the Rocky Mountains with her family and spends her time writing and doing all of the wonderful things that make up the life of a busy wife and mother.
Trust can be a tricky thing and very fragile. This Honeysuckle Island series isn't light and fluffy--there are suspenseful undertones that actually filtered into my dreams at night, making for some very interesting and intense nights.
Sheriff Ian has been burned before but is instantly smitten with personal chef Sadie, and this is where trust and truth really come into play. I loved the ebb and flow of their relationship, especially as the truth is revealed. The whole cast of characters was wonderful--some were mysterious, some were intriguing, some were genuinely likable, while others were villainous.
The twists and turns were so fast paced and exciting. This is the type of story that Youngblood writes best.
Content: mild romance; mild violence/moments of peril/death; mild religion

I love a good series. And this one is really dragging me in. I read Chasing Whispers last year and really enjoyed it. I’m finally getting to the rest of the series.
I loved that this one featured different characters than the first book. But still had some of the same characters. It was fun to see the plot through different and new characters eyes.
I liked that Ian was one of the main characters. In the first book, he was kind of one of the bad guys. So seeing things through his eyes cleared a lot of things up. Ian was not at all what I had thought he was from the first book. He was a good guy, just trying to do his job.
Sadie is a new addition to the island. And she has a secret. That kept me intrigued, trying to figure out what her secret was. I liked the way she got Ian to meet her. Sadie is a spunky person who isn’t afraid to get in and try to figure things out, despite the danger.
This book kept me guessing. There are tons of secrets that come out. I had no idea who the bad guy was in this one until the very end. Such a great book!
Virtuous deception splits already fractured hearts into speculations over the missing pieces in this thrilling story, that will startle you when tough answers mend the mystery.
After being betrayed by his former girlfriend, Sheriff Ian Russell isn't ready for a relationship. Ian still needs to determine what happened to his former deputy. When Ian rescues Sadie from a bad blind date, he is intrigued by her. The more that Ian gets to know Sadie, the more time he wants to spend time with her. Sadie though has secrets and may have clues to the missing deputy. I received a free copy of this ebook from the publisher. This is my honest and voluntarily given review. This is the second terrific romantic suspense mystery in this series. I love how the story is told from both Ian's and Sadie's point of view. I also love how there is more to Sadie than meets our eye initially. I found Ian and Sadie both believable characters. There are also a couple of interesting twists in the story. I recommend this book and the series.
Oh my gosh!! That was so good!! I loved finding out the mystery behind Lina. I had suspicions of different people through the whole book, but never knew for sure. I loved the not knowing. I also love the fact that Ian had to face his own forgiveness where Lina was concerned and was open to forgiving Sadie. Their story is so good. Sadie's story is good too. I can sympathize with her decision to kill, but you also show that their is justice to be served for our actions. So good. I received an advance copy of this book from bookfunnel, however, I am sharing my honest opinion here.
With secrets to hold, how can you know who to trust? Robyn has just got out of jail and wants to find her brother's killer. Ian lost a good friend, and his girlfriend went a little crazy. Robyn changes her name and starts at a new life. Lina is bent on revenge. The shadow is a thief of expensive treasure. Life on Honeysuckle Island is moving and changing. Come along for a fantastic ride as you figure out "who did it". Happy Reading!
A good clean suspense romance: Sheriff Ian and Sadie (Robyn) are looking for the murderer of Brent Allen (Deputy). The villain Lina says he was shot and she ran. She put under house arrest for her previous crimes but has the mysterious "Shadow” help her escape. Will the murderer be found? Can Ian and Sadie trust each other to have a relationship? Who is "Shadow"?
I really enjoyed reading it and would highly recommend it/series.
I am loving this series! Ian was not the most likable character in the first book. In this one, his protective and caring nature shines through. Sadie is mysterious and sweet. I love how these imperfect characters learn to overcome their weaknesses in order to develop a closeness to one another. So many twists and turns in the mystery behind this story. Terrific supporting charaters. I can' wait for more!
This is a great series. Because I had been introduced to Ian through the first book, at the start of this book, I really disliked Ian. Once Sadie entered the picture, I began to like Ian better and appreciate the trials he had been through. I began to realize that Ian is a great sheriff just trying to protect everyone in his jurisdiction. I love Sadie and her strength and her willingness to let God help change her life. I love this story and the twists and turns it takes. WONDERFUL!
Hope and Trust is found in this Romantic Suspense story
The characters are relatable. The pace at which details are revealed keeps you intrigued. God and faith is intertwined beautifully in the storyline. If you like intelligent mystery solving with witty dialog and cute clean romance, this is a book to read.
While I am not a big fan of undercover police work and master criminals this was still a good book. As the second book in the series we got closure on Lina and a new mystery solved. If there are future books I hope to l earn more about the hotel and the guests. And, oh yeah, get rid of Josette. Totally useless human being.
This was a very suspenseful story my thoughts of who it was changed so many times. Sadie and Ian sure had a rollercoaster ride to get together but got through. I definitely Italy recommend this book.
This is the story of the young interior designer who went to the island to renovate the hotel only to fall in love and nearly ending up getting killed. This is my review and mine alone. Norma Gorrill
Clean mystery very exacting, suspenseful, fast paced easy to read book the story line is really good the characters are well developed I enjoy it immensely and really recommend it to People who like intrigue and suspense and like to guess what is nex
An exciting story. Lots of twists and turns some expected some unexpected. I could hardly put the book down. It will be interesting to see what comes next from this series.
This story was intriguing, mysterious, different but had a love story woven through out. Characters were well written and the storyline was very good. I think you would enjoy this book too.
This author takes the reader through some interesting times of mystery and mayhem while throwing in a few red herrings to keep you on your toes! Another delightful book in the Honeysuckle Island series. I can hardly wait to read the next story!
A very interesting story. Deceit has a way of destroying trust and a sense of self worth. Lots of twists and intrigue with a bittersweet romance. Love this book.
The first part of this book was a very slow start for me. I had a hard time sticking with it. But the last 2/3 of the book moved the story along. There is lots of suspense. The ending was happy.
Loved the way the author showed had faith in God can always see you through any adversity...It also shows how we can get far from God but even the when you ask he is right there and always on time...Thank you Jennifer Youngblood
4 stars for The Fragile Truth, Honeysuckle Island Book 2. Ian and Sadie have an instant connection but can they both overcome the secrets they are holding from each other?
The Fragile Truth is a suspense filled romance. In less than two days I have read Chasing Whispers and The Fragile Truth because I could not let this story go. (Housework is there whether you do it or not!) Both Ian and Sadie are multi-layered, complex humans who have to deal with past and present issues. This well written mystery definitely kept my interest. Ms. Youngblood's writing makes me care about her characters and I enjoy seeing how she brings all these lives to a most satisfactory conclusion. There are some unexpected twists which made reading this even more interesting. You will not be disappointed!
Sadie is new to Honeysuckle/Summerville and has just sat down next to a very handsome man who it turns out is the Sheriff. Only does she already know this? Ian isn't in the mood for small talk, especially since he has just visited Lina, who is on house arrest, for trying to kill Effie Romeo. He was trying to get her to tell him more about his deputy Brent, who she said was killed at the lighthouse a year ago when she disappeared. Was he? If so, by whom? Her? So many questions! You will enjoy reading this great story by Jennifer Youngblood. There is certainly a lot to take in.
I’ve read several books by Jennifer Youngblood and this is another great mystery. Honestly, I wasn’t crazy about how this one started out and it seemed kinda slow… but once the foundation was laid, the storyline picked up momentum. Ultimately, the mystery evolved and became very intriguing, leaving you guessing and changing murder suspects until the story concluded. It’s a really interesting story and highly recommended.
Great second book in The Honeysuckle Island series! It was fun to see characters from the first book. I loved the mystery and suspense in this one. I was guessing and reguessing throughout the book trying to figure out what happened and the whodunnit. I had some guesses right and some were wrong. I can't wait to see what the next book is about.
Content: Mystery, suspense, murder. Even with these topics I felt the author did a great job keeping it a clean read.
This is the second book of this series and it didn’t disappoint! So much suspense and intrigue. Literally couldn’t put it down. Must read for sure but don’t read it before Chasing Whispers. Must read in order! Can’t wait for #3!
