The Promised Neverland’s reading/watching experience is very similar to Attack on Titan’s. Once the major mystery was revealed (yes loots of secrets remained), the rest simply wasn’t as good as the first arc. The last arc in this manga is second best but this volume wasn’t the strongest. I feel like the ending is going to be too neat to my liking.
*Sigh*... *sigh again* What happened to the plot twists, to the intelligent story and characters, to the cunning villains? To the obstacles?? Everything was so easy and convenient, there wasn't a real sense of danger anymore.
Can’t believe I’m already approaching the end…😞I’m not ready to let that serie go yet but at the same time I want to see how this serie will end. I guess I just disliked how everything seem convenient like I know there’s only one volume left and they can’t start anything new or new plot points , some things just seem so random and to be convenient for the children. I guess I expected a little more ? It wasn’t as bad as people are saying but it’s not amazing either I guess it’s pretty hard since the first arc was amazing , which was a 10/10 for me , for the others to compare to it they all seem bland in comparison. the final arc is still pretty good it’s just seems pretty rushed and now that the mysteries are pretty much all uncovered there’s not much left 🫠
Once again : mind blowing. With volume 17&18 I felt like the story was getting rushed but this one was different and well-rounded! I’m excited and also at pain for the last volume to come.
This was really good but why didn’t Mijuka just spend all 700 years going around the world and secretly giving them her blood? Even put it in the water, something!
When I reviewed the last volume of this manga back in January 2021, I was expecting to have finished by the end of that year, but boy life was different then. I have finally finished reviewing this penultimate volume. The journey I been on with this series has been something. This title really got me to be serious about reading manga as my interest in Western (e.g. Marvel and DC) comic books was dying down....but I'll talk about that another time. I want to do a full meta-review of this series when I review the final volume. Again, it was a stroke of luck that I picked this series up when the first season of the anime ended. Unlike with Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the anime industry did The Promised Neverland wrong and one only hopes it gets an FMA: Brotherhood-style reboot one day. This manga, while not perfect, was one of the most ambitious to come out of the industry from the last decade. But again, I'll talk more about the whole series for the next and final volume.
This volume sees the team deal with the aftermath of accomplishing one of their goals, but they still have a lot of dangerous loose ends...the biggest being the ultimate villain of the series who still has a whole lot of cards to play. Fortunately, our heroes are not as naive to this as he and his cronies think.
This volume pulls a very interesting deus ex machina that I felt was a bit on the predictable corny shonen-side. Besides that, the other twist that we had all been waiting on since the kids left Grace Field did pay-off in a big way and it will be interesting to see if Emma's shonen protagonist pedigree can get her to her final destination.
Okay many people lied about this series getting bad, because this was fantastic!! The stakes are high, the emotions are there, and actions have consequences! Love it!
