She’s a new witch learning to control her powers. He’s a dragon shifter with a centuries-old vow to destroy her coven.
Rowan Stonecroft finds out her aunt was murdered a week after she divorces her cheating ex. She’s the sole inheritor of her aunt’s vast estate…and that means taking her place in the Raven Society, an international coven of witches. Which is pretty shocking considering she didn’t even know magic existed. She’s determined to find her aunt’s killer, but that means pairing up with the gorgeous, brooding dragon shifter in town. And there’s a huge problem with that: he hates witches, and after everything Rowan’s been through in the past, he’s the last person she can trust.
Xander Cole has lived the centuries alone. Alone and perfectly content, from knight to Revolutionary soldier to blacksmith, watching over his territory and ensuring the witches don’t wreak havoc. But when the danger comes, it’s not from the witches. It’s from a demonic murderer picking them off one by one.
Newcomer Rowan is not helping matters. She’s as dangerous as they come, a new witch blazing with power. Especially because one look at her, and his inner dragon decides she’s the only one who can satisfy his soul. But he swore an oath to destroy the Raven Society, and a man is nothing without honor.
Unfortunately, Xander isn’t the only one with his sights set on Rowan: she’s the killer’s next target. If these two enemies can’t put aside their differences, they’ll lose everything, including their last chance at love.

Rowan is having a time. Finally her divorce is over but her favorite aunt has died. She now has to travel clear across the country to settle her estate. What she did not expect to find was a cast of supernatural beings, a very hot naked, golden eyed man on her run, a demon chasing her, and a coven of witches. It would seem as though death followed her from LA and as the bodies pile up, she is unsure of who to trust. One thing for sure, life is no where near the vicinity of dull.
Hot Hex is that paranormal slow-medium burn romance that keeps the blood pumping. Xander, our golden eyed man is conflicted about Rowan but intrigued and drawn to her like a moth to a flame. Sometimes oaths have to be altered, especially when you are hundreds of years old.

I really adore dragons, so this story makes me happy! Rowan Stonecroft got her divorce out of the way, getting rid of her cheating ex, but learns that her aunt has been murdered! Rowan has inherited everything and must go there to settle the estate. This has other repercussions for her too, since she will have to take her place in the Raven Society international coven. This is all new to her.
Rowan meets some from the supernatural world along the way. Xander Cole is a golden-eyed dragon/man who is conflicted. He is strongly attracted to Rowan, his dragon deciding she is his soulmate, but he has sworn an oath to destroy the Raven Society, and she is becoming part of that group. She will have to deal with the other witches. It’s getting hard to know who Rowan can trust, especially when she can see Xander hates witches! There is also a murderous demon on the loose. In fact, Rowan is now the killer’s next target. So if Xander wants to start up a relationship with Rowan, they need to start trusting each other and defend against the demon that wants her dead.
Will they choose to take a chance on love? Or is Xander too conflicted with the ancient rules against witches to give it a try?
This story has a little bit of everything, genre wise. I Liked that about this story, I felt as though there was never a dull moment. I believe that this is a first for me from this author and I really enjoyed it. I Loved It!!!

When Rowan Stonecroft's beloved aunt Sybil passes away, she learns she's inherited her aunt's estate and magical legacy. She wasn't even aware witches existed and now she must prepare to take her place in the Raven Society. Yet Rowan is also determined to find her aunt's killer, even if that means putting herself in the line of fire. Good thing there's a noble and absolutely smoking hot dragon shifter named Xander Cole vying to do the same thing. While he believes in justice, he hates witches and yet can't help himself from being enchanted by Rowan. With the heat sizzling, will the two of them find the murderer or end up nothing but ashes themselves?
This was a fantastic first book in this steamy paranormal romance series. Witches are one of my favorite supernatural beings, and they are captured beautifully with Rowan, her aunt, and her friends in the Raven Society. This is a great foundation for the future and strife within the organization, especially with Rowan's plans. There was a lot of hot tension between Rowan and Xander with her fiery magic and him being a dragon. There were a few twists to the mystery and a big surprise at the end. I loved Rowan's friend Ven, and I can't wait to read about her in the next book.
Rowan's life is changed irreversibly when her aunt is murdered and she learns about her secret life. Inheriting a house brings with it added concerns and shocks. Meeting Xander may be the only wonderful thing but it is quickly spoilt by his attitude to her witchy side. Someone is killing witches and Xander is a suspect when his form is revealed plus his hatred. Rowan may have to work with this man to find out the truth but she is the stubborn type that will not hide. They must fight this threat without distraction. Xander refuses to break his vow and pushes away his feelings for this woman.. Will her life being in danger change his mind?
Wow... I was flipping the pages of this energetic story filled with drama, lust, death, surprise, worry and magic. Instantly I knew I would adore the beautiful Xander but he is slightly frustrating. Just give into the dragon already... I loved Rowan's strength and determination that made her the perfect heroine for this romance. A fantastic book that had me gripped with anticipation flooding through me and heat.. Of course. Unique and creatively clever plot points made this a true bookworm's delight.

What I really enjoyed about this story was that when it says witches it wasn’t just a person with magic. There was the actual use of a grimoire and learning/using spells. I appreciated that attention to detail. I also adored the touch with the witches cats! So cute! The spice between Rowan and Xander is hot and well placed in the story. The only thing that was a bit off with this to me was the pacing was disjointed occasionally. I’ll definitely check out the next in the series.
The book is a good, and enjoyable enemies to lovers paranormal romance read. The story has a good well written story line with a solid plot. The characters are good, and they have good chemistry. The story has bit of everything from romance to humor.

I'm not even sure how this book crossed my path, but I must say it was totally worth the read. Just when I was in the mood to read something different, this book appeared. So looking forward to reading Ven's story next.
I loved beginning this new series. It combines two of my favorite genres, witches and romance. As the lead heroine learns of her fiery powers, she becomes drawn to a sexy dragon shifter.
An enjoyable start with a solid plot that had a little bit of everything, from humor, romance and more. I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
The first book in the Raven Society series a well written story that kept me turning pages. Rowan Stonecroft inherits her aunt’s vast estate and when she come to claim it she meets dragon shifter Xander Cole. Their story has suspense, drama, danger, murder, villains, and romance. I want to read the next book. This is a new Author to me, and it looks like this is her debut book. I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
The entire book was too rushed. The Society Big Bad? Really? The death of 1 caused…what exactly? There’s no backstory. It’s all very empty. Xander’s maybe mate not mate thing is so rushed. He loves her before he’s had two words with her. Like that isn’t the poster boy for every man - he goes from gruff to pussy cat in 5 mins. The end was too neat. And the set up for the next book? So incredibly obvious.
This is the 1st book I've read written by Aurora Grey; I can’t wait to read more of her books.
This is the 1st book in the Raven Society Series; it is a stand-alone book. The story is about Rowan & Xander; she recently divorced and when her aunt is murdered she inherits her estate.

It was well written, a bit of mystery, supernatural and of course romance. The interactions between characters were good. It was a fast read and well worth it for for a mistake. Clicked on it and decided why not? So happy that I did.
I really love the story line. Especially the witch and the dragon. I didn’t love how randomly the author would throw in a swear word. As if she doesn’t usually talk that way but feels like there has to be swearing so she forces it in.
