A Love Unexpected
After nearly 2 years after her grandmother died Sarah Beth's heart still aches to feel whole again. She knows prayers cannot bring back her grandmother or her parents who were killed in a farming accident 12 years ago. It's her longing to have her siblings rejoin her in Hickory Meadows that keeps pushing her to work hard at selling her vegetables and handicrafts day after day. She is working on getting a shop ready next to her home so she can earn enough money to bring the girls home. A new buggy maker has moved into town and soon acts of vandalism start to happen. Her brother, Toby, isn't much help with the farm and her youngest siblings have been taken in by an aunt and uncle. Elias had some trouble growing up and doesn't know what family is. Sarah Beth is doing all she can to bring her family back together. But when both her property and Elias business are continually vandalized, how will she and Elias handle it? And will Elias name be cleared as a suspect in a fire twelve years ago? A good read.

A delightful Amish story with lessons for us all. Don't judge a book by its cover would be a good alternative title.
