There is so much dogma and assorted nonsense going on in the scientific community. I feel a little bad for good scientists who are doing good work because they are at least trying while so many can't be bothered to draw a reasonable evidence-based inference.

Perhaps, a significant part of the pushback against vaccinations and good Science is the public can sense outlandish scientific claims when they hear them. When academics get in the way of progress they do us all a sincere disservice. Of course, media hype doesn't help either, but their stories always start with an academic saying something dumb.

Let's try to fix some of the problems.
