I really loved a lot of this book, but at the end it kind of felt incomplete. They were in the middle of an escape and then it was over. What happened?! Some things were summed up but I'm sure this wasn't a happily ever after story. Once I start a book I almost always feel compelled to finish it (I read it all) but I still don't feel like I finished it 😲. Is there a chapter I missed? I really like the author and everything else I've read by him. This historical fiction felt very well researched but needed more on the end.

I hope to finish this one day. I bought the book on tape, the tape broke. I loved how the main characters felt real. I wish more stories (or actual history) was as respectful of differences as this story told.
