Vivian arrived in a small Texas town to meet the man she had been writing to after he’d answered her mail order bride ad. Unfortunately, no one was there to meet her when the stagecoach arrived. He was sent for, but the man who arrived to meet his future wife was not the man she had been writing. The ticket office had sent her to the wrong place!

And things only got more difficult from there, as the next stage coach out wouldn't be leaving for another week, meaning Vivian would need to find a way to afford a hotel room for the week and buy another ticket elsewhere.

David, who had expected a different woman to arrive in another month was less than pleased at the mixup. He had sought a mail order bride to make his very ill mother's possible last days happy, knowing her son would soon be married. He wound up coming to an agreement with Vivian to pretend to be his fiance and make his mother happy until the next stage coach will arrive to take Vivian elsewhere.

Again, as with all her other mail order bride stories, I found this one just as enjoyable as the others. This one has a few extra elements of conflict that arise within the situation than most of Ms Linnington's previous tales, but they only add to the excitement of seeing the two main characters overcome their pasts and try to learn to trust in their own feelings as well as those of another person.

This is another good book for anyone who enjoys mail order bride stories or any of Ms. Linnington's previous books.

Vivian set out to meet the man who wanted her for a bride but ended up in the wrong place. David was expecting a mail-order bride with children and went to town to discover she is the wrong one. David’s mother is very ill and wants to see him married with children. His brother took off for parts unknown after the death of their father five years previous. After he received a letter letting him know his mail-order bride was not coming, he asked Vivian to fake being his fiancée to make his mother happy. She agreed! Then she got a letter as well canceling her arrangement. So, she decided to stay on the farm in her role. As time went on, they grew closer but were holding some deep secrets from one another. Then his past catches up to him and his secret will as well. He has developed feelings for Vivian and if she finds out she will probably leave him…the man is threatening to tell her the truth! What will happen? Will they have a future or not?

Very good read

This was a very good read about David and Vivian. A mixup of grooms or brides is what happened in this book. David ordered a bride that children already just to make his mother a grandma before she dies. Vivian is bride for another man in another town what a mixup this is. David’s bride is a no show as she changed her mind, Vivian’s groom later changes his mind after he is told about the mixup. Will David and Vivian see eye to eye and tie the knot. Very enjoyable to read.

Spinster Mail Order Bride And Her Conflicted Man By Florence Linnington

Four stars, this book was title correctly, it was filled with conflicts.. Vivian the mail order bride had past baggage, and a hard exterior.. Both her and David were dumped by their future spouses.. David had baggage, but he was willing to give Vivian a try in order to help his mother.. A lot of soul searching drama, which comes to a head.. When answers are found, forgiveness and healing begins.. Good happy ending.

Well done

The heroine struggles through some times of doubt and feels discouraged about her trip West. Life had been difficult after her parents died. Her aunt who raised her had not been encouraging. The man who courted her had become mean. Her trip west to her groom through a mail order service had thought another woman would come to be is bride. Does anything work out for her?
