I remember the first time I died. Lie lifeless in a puddle of my blood… And she was there trying to save me.
“Come on, Kian. Breathe for me.” I feel her palms pump against my chest and her tears pitter-patter against my lips. I swear I can taste the saltiness of them.
“It’s no use,” I remember whispering against her ear.
Then everything around me grew blurry and started fading away. Even me. Warmth streamed throughout my limbs, moving straight to my heart where it pumped rhythmically. My lungs expanded weakly, then my eyes shot open, and I began to breathe on my own.
The problem is the beautiful girl that saved my life that night thinks that I’m dead.
Now, I’m making it my business to let her know that I’m alive and well. That she’s the one who keeps my heart beating hard and strong in my chest.
She’s the reason I breathe…

Really good book. Strong characters... Keeps readers entertained throughout the book. The plot is interesting since differ from other stories I've read.
Hello 2022! This year, I promised myself that I would read all the books in my Kindle Unlimited (KU) queue which increased from 10 to 20 books. I'm off to a good start since this the fifth book I've read and the year has just started.
For those with curious minds, here are the books in my queue:

"Shhh." His lips slant over mine. "I've lost enough in my life," he chokes up. "Gareth is dying. And I've lost my daughter and you again. Maybe I can make another deal with Death and ask him to take me instead since I have nothing to live for anymore."
Breathe is a second chance BWWM romance that might make you shed a tear or two. Kian and Jericha were high school sweethearts and lovers but kept their relationship a secret. They went from neighbours to friends to seriously close friends to lovers. Then on one heartbreaking night, their world was shattered, and I needed to remind myself to breathe. Kian lost everything and had absolutely nothing to live for, and Jericha lost her boyfriend, the love of her life, and the father of her unborn child.
I remember the first time I died. Lie lifeless in a puddle of my blood… And she was there trying to save me.
Breathe is one of those stories that will break your heart and have you hoping that the hero and heroine get their HEA, and they sure did. Despite the substance abuse, death and grief, suicidal thoughts, engagement to someone else and being apart for years, Kian and Jericha made it and sustained some battle scars.
If you like interracial romances, I highly recommend you read this book. Is there dirty talking? - Yes Family dynamics/ Drama? - Yes Good girl h x Gad boy H? - Yes Insta lust?- Yes Do opposites attract?Yes, Yes Touch of angst? Oh Yes
This is a heart-rending, cute, sinful, fast-paced read with the right amount of sweetness. Be prepared to have your heart ripped apart, shattered and weeping.
Cora and Kian’s story is twisted almost to the point of being beyond repair. Drugs have ruled Kian for too long and he is trying to get his life back. Cora has no idea he is coming or that he has actually been there this whole time.
Kian is determined to get his family back however he needs to. It’s a fight Cora can’t beat him on because no matter what her heart calls for him.
I do wish we got more back story into this couple but overall for a first time author for me I loved it.
Honey Chile that damn Jericha knew she was going to be with Kian how she was acting when he had got shot.(p.s. his daddy was bat shit crazy and I don’t blame his mama for trying to leave) I was surprised that they kept the secret that long from Gareth. You had me second guessing my damn self if Kian was alive or dead right along with Jericha ass. I was like wait is he alive or is she playing tricks on us but he was alive and I was like okay because I wasn’t ready. That damn Broderick character is something serious his ass knew like I did it was a lost cost when it came to Kian but I felt like he was cheating anyway once Jericha said they haven’t had sex in four months and his ass been out of town. I am glad that Kian and Jericha got it together and got married and that Gareth was there to witness it before he passed.
This story was very odd. The male main character sneaking into the house to “take care of his daughter” was incredible weird and slightly disturbing, plus taking her on trips when the female main character would go away for the weekend. And how the young child never brought up that her dad would visit her to her mom is so unbelievable, children will talk to you about anything and everything. Also the way the female main character was just not at all weirded out that a) her boyfriend never actually died, b) everyone knew but her, c) she just forgave him. I guess if I wasn’t distracted by the terrible storytelling it would have been better, but the whole thing is completely unbelievable and would never actually happen.
I really enjoyed this book. Kian had so much to deal with from a young age, yet he was able to give his whole heart to Jericha. He was so protective and secretive as he found his way again. I loved how they reconnected despite the circumstances, a little humor, a little whoa, and a lot of chemistry. Jericha had made the best of her situation and thought that she had her future set. She was strong and intelligent with a lot of support behind her. There were a couple moments of sadness, but it ended on a good note.
I received a copy of this story through Enticing Journey Book Promotions, and this is my unsolicited review.
I’m never disappointed when I read Ms. Wallace’s books. It didn’t start with this one! I just wished it could have been longer but then I couldn’t see how.
This books talks about Veterans with PTSD, suicidal ideations, drug abuse, addiction and domestic violence to name a few. If those are triggers for you, don’t read it. It’s dark with a hea!
Kian walked to the gates of hell and came back a better person! He wasn’t your typical alpha male. He was dark, and sexy!
Are you looking for your next steamy read? This is totally one to check out!
The author did an awesome job delivering an extremely touching romance that is so hot that I thought my kindle app would burst into flames! I enjoyed getting to know the characters and being submerged into this world. It is a second chance romance that will have you flipping the pages to see what happens next! I give it 4.5 outta 5 stars and look forward to reading more by the author!
PS: Thank you to Danyell and Enticing Journey Book Promos for allowing me an advanced copy of the book to read and review honestly!
The only reason I didn't rate 5 stars is because I wanted a longer story. However, the author was able develop the characters well with hundred something pages. I like how they came full circle. The author did a good job at showing how true love never fades. I always enjoy her books. Wouldn't mind a part two.
Good story. Kian and Jericha are cute together. From the blurb I thought this was a story about a teenage couple who rediscovers each other in adulthood. But I was pleasantly surprised that it was NA because lets face it, NA couples are so much more fun to read about with their angst and drama.
Kian surprised me with how much his character evolved and stepped up from the prologue to the main story. I was disappointed that he didn't reach out or answer Jericha after his accident. And then when he didn't fight for Jericha was also a big issue for me.
Jericha was just loveable. My only complaint is that she didn't give Kian a second chance after finding out his story.
But I guess those are the dramas that makes a story interesting.
The storyline was great and I'm not opposed to intimate sex scenes but this being a short book (126 pages according to Amazon) there were just too many.
*Trigger Warning: substance abuse, mentions of suicide, and sexual/ adult content.*
The blurb and cover gives the impression of this being a dark book but it wasn't "that dark". I would've loved this if either the book was longer or if some sweet, somewhat innocent moments would have been included, especially in the 'past' section.
I absolutely loved the starting and how events were in perfect flow. The characters were great, especially Cora and Gareth. Kian was wonderful father and it was cute watching him with her daughter. This was definitely attention keeping.
Would recommend if you're looking for a good short read.
This is a new author to me, but my word, I will certainly be looking out for her work in the future. This is Linc and Gracie’s journey, and they go not have an easy time of it, as there are many challenges to overcome along the way, including crazy, twisted, and manipulative exes. This is a well written emotional roller coaster, which is filled with danger, suspense, angst, drama, humor, family, friendships, and love, which lead to an entertaining and all-consuming, riveting page turner. I was totally captivated throughout this intriguing story, and I look forward to reading more from this talented author, and I highly recommend this story. Be aware, there may be triggers for some readers due to the sensitive topics!
I loved this book 📖 ❤️ from beginning to end. I can't believe what kian's dad did that is so messed up. It changed everything. Them what happen to her brother just I can't believe it it was sad. And her friend that's messed up. But love will or I should say true love will make a full circle back to who it really loves ❤️ ❤️..
3.5 stars This story was short and sweet. We got to follow the journey of high school sweethearts that are torn apart by tragedy. They reconnect but the quest to return back to the love they previously shared is met with several obstacles.
It was really good for a quick read. It didn't fill rushed and although the FMC wasn't as developed the MMC filled the gaps and despite how fast the story was the relationship felt more realistic than expected
Love, love, love. I've read from this author numerous times and like always, she did not disappoint. The drama, happiness, and support was all there. Definitely recommend.
I really liked this story of lost love and then they come back to each other. I am glad Jericho didn’t accept Kian right away but had to go through a process. Great book
DNF - not for me at this time. Very dark at page 1. TW: Drug use, talk of murder suicideof parents, rehab, terminal Colon Cancer in a twenty-something. All within the first 20 pages.

This is the first time I have read this author and holy emotional batman! Like utterly will gut you hard! There are so many moments that will make your head spin but also swoon. The utter heartache that both Linc and Gracie have endured to get to where they are is so freaking intense. There is a lot of ups and downs with this story that deals with a lot of real world issues. From everything Linc endured then tried to get his life together for Gracie. Gracie for always loving Linc regardless of where she is at in life. There is a lot of push and pull and heart strings tugged on. So be prepared for a wild and emotional ride.
It was okay. I don’t think Jericha and Kian had much chemistry. I feel like Jericha wasn’t even fully fleshed out, her only personality was how much she wanted Kian. I thought this book had a good premise but it was just too short to really execute it. I wanted more scenes with Kian and Cora, I thought their relationship was really sweet but the backstory to how they became so close was glossed over. Overall, the book was fine. 2.5 stars
