A shocking rescue. A new beginning. A dangerous mystery.
Sylvia and Noah have saved Charlie from the auction, and she must now come to terms with answering to the infamous bounty-hunters-turned-private-investigators as her new masters. But after fighting weepers beneath New Ve, filing and making coffee doesn’t seem like a terrible fate.
Unfortunately, menial office tasks are not all that awaits in Charlie’s new life—Henry, a sadistic vampire she once called ‘brother’, comes after her for uncovering his crimes against the crown. Then a clue from her first case leads Charlie to the King of the Barrens, another powerful player whose intentions are enshrouded in secrets.
As usual, Charlie quickly finds herself with more questions than answers. It soon puts her in a position that threatens her all-too mortal life. Can Charlie depend on her sarcastic, cruel partner to help her? Or will this latest adventure finally be her undoing?

As the series goes on I'm finding myself less and less interested in this. Maybe it's because I've left it a while before reading the next installment, and had forgotten a lot of the plot. Or maybe it's that I find Charlie the protagonist really irritating. Also there's just no story here at all, and no development in the storyline.
The only thing going for the series at this point is the tension between Noah and Charlie. And there's only so many times you can flog that dead horse.
The standard bickering and clapbacks were there but I LOVED how their were some sweet moments dispersed here and there. Noah showing he cares for Charlie discreetly PLS confessions are alright but it's the little details that get overlooked by the mc and the reader that strike.
Honestly, would've given less stars if it wasn't for them but they had smiling like an idiot so I'll excuse the plot problems for NOW. As with the last serials, I wish the conversations didn't switch so fast. There would be a revelation and it wouldn't be pondered on, explored. Charlie moved on so quick from news that potentially changes her life. like hello?? I think you should discuss this more?? She accepted everything too easily. Like she was being passed around. Maybe this will lead to character development but she has went through a whole lotta til now.
Noah not being able to be in stable relationship what was THAT about 😭 lmao again, no explanation. i hope he changes his mind bc that dorian fella smells like trouble. STAY AWAY 🤚
charlie travesty has the potential to be a big success if it wasn't a side hustle and was released as a proper trilogy sigh. can't say i don't enjoy it being enjoyed as serials. September next!
Well I couldn't agree more, Noah. The readers asked for it and the authors delivered, this is basically all about Charlie and Noah bickering and trying to decide if they should fight or fuck. Or you know, possibly both at the same time. If anyone can make it work, it would be them.
“You are such a liar. You’re jealous.” He’s in front of me in a flash, advancing until I collide with the wall, then traps me between his arms. His voice is low, barely above a whisper, and I feel it all over as he says, “I could take you right here.” My pulse jackhammers. I fight the urge to close my eyes and give in to what my body desperately wants. “You could,” I agree almost breathlessly, “but you won’t.”
I almost don't know what I enjoy more, the sexual tension or the banter.
“And the Noah Forrest Fan Club gains another member,” I hear myself say. The words are slightly slurred. “We both know you’re its leader,” Noah says.
Honestly, who isn't in the Noah Forrest Fan Club by now? Basically it's a lot of fun. And that's what I love about Charlie Travesty. It's all about the enjoyment. I don't care that New Ve seem to have only one street and two bars based on the amount of times Charlie bumps in to someone she knows at a critical moment, I think that's when this story is at it's best, when we get all the kind of unlikely drama that we have all been daydreaming about (or maybe that's just me?).
And despite that little roast of New Ve, I think the world do get more solid with every installment. Political conflicts are high and new mysteries are starting to take shape as well. So if you enjoyed the first book, just dive right back in. I'm pretty confident I will stay glued to every last page this time around as well.
I’ve been holding out for this next instalment for so long and it did not disappoint. As always, my only critique is how short and fast these serials are, but that’s the whole point of serials sadly. CAN NOAH FINALLY BE WITH CHARLIE?? And that cliffhanger, omg I hope they survive! And what’s up with Drew’s old necklace? There is something off about that!

Charlie is back! OMG, I can't believe it has taken me this long to pick this up, but I was just so excited, and the wait for the next serial was always so painful I found myself trying to make it as short as possible. BUT I JUST COULDN'T WAIT ANY LONGER. It did not take me any time to get back into this world. It picked up right where we left off, and the Charlie-Noah action in this was REAL. I only wish they didn't switch conversations so suddenly! Maybe Charlie should have discussed some stuff and not simply forget about it and move on? I hope we get answers to all these new questions soon because there are too many mysteries right now. And all that Noah talk about not being able to be in a relationship? BS. We'll see how that goes. But for real, the world keeps getting more solid with every instalment. Now we have water nymphs, shifters and even a human stirring up trouble? Yes, please. I can't honestly wait to see what else is in store for our baby vampire.
THAT ENDING!!!! This series is killing me. It's been a hot minute since a vampire series has gotten me hooked and Charlie's journey has got me fiending for more. Literally read the whole thing in one go This book definitely is part 1, building up the story and setting the scene for the story. Not much happens but I'm excited to see where it goes
These cliffhangers are killing me. I just.. I need the next book. Now. Five minutes ago, even. *flails* Every volume of this series is better than the last. I am forever impressed with these two amazing authors.
I didn't realise how much I actually missed Charlie, Noah and the gang. The book is fast paced with a lot happening at once, I was never bored. It was a good length and does really leave me wanting more in September! Parts of it did feel a bit superficial for information but it was a good read and I loved it.
Review: Sad that this was the last book of an uncompleted series that I quite enjoyed. I do hope they decide to come back to it eventually, and would read it if they did.
3.75/5 ⭐️ I love this series so much! I’ve been looking forward to this release ever since I devoured the last one. The only thing that makes me lower my rating is that it would be so much better to just have the whole book at once. Having the book split into multiple sections months apart takes away from the flow and allows you to forget some things. For this specific section of the book, I felt like it was lacking in some areas, but I know that if I was able to read the whole book at once, I wouldn’t feel that way.
Overall, I still really love this series, and will continue looking forward to the next releases!
I’m a little disappointed with this. After waiting a year I expected more from this; maybe it’s the serial format that makes this feel so lack luster, maybe if we got a the whole story at once the book could be read in it’s entirety and the story would feel less chopped and screwed. I don’t know. While reading this I kept thinking Charlie’s life is just random moments of chaos and stilted moments of angst with Noah. Like what is the plot here? I know there is some mystery we are supposed to be following but honestly what is it at this point? I am going to continue with the series because I am invested and what to know the conclusion but I want this to get less chaotic and for the relationship with Noah to move forward even if only a little bit.
Damn, that was some dream in the middle of the book. And then in the next chapter, bam, what a tragic scene! The plot was abrupt. Then, her inner monologues are so dramatic. And the king? What a douchebag. This book was a mess, with plotlines that seemed haphazardly woven together.
Future me here: The series has a promising premise, but due to publication issues, it remains incomplete. Read it at your own risk.
Im OBSESSED with this series especially the chemistry between Noah & Charlie. I’m so happy it developed even more in this book. I’m so curious to see what happens in book six & how they get themselves out of this situation.
You know, these books have really grown on me. I'm really interested in the storyline, and the writing style has matured to the point where I feel like I'm reading a good NA book.
My problem is, and it's a major frustration and sore point for me, is that I feel like I'm reading fan fiction or some wattpad story with these silly little novella releases. I'd much rather wait a year for a full release book, then wait six months for 5 chapters. You lose momentum, and feel like you're reading something not worth my time. It's a shame. Because this as a full length novel would be a winner in my book.
Choah? Narlie? Trorrest? Forrty? Foravesty? What are we calling Noah and Charlie? Cause we finally got some true content.
The story picks up right where volume one leaves off. We still don't get a whole lot of answers. If anything we get more questions.. But the world does begin to expand. Charlie is still continuing to grow and figure out who she is and where she belongs. I'm happy Jessi and Kelsey are letting her still work through her grief. All in all, it's another fast-paced 'chapter'.
I loved this one more than most of the series. I loved that we had some plot and we lost the love triangle and the unnecessary drama. I love seeing Charlie and Noah together. He grew on me because here we can see his feeling for her. The only thing that I didn't like was how much bad Charlie felt especially her continuous shame. Maybe this will change as she grows.
Wow wow wow! This book was incredible! I literally have read it all in one day and it definitely did not disappoint. You need to read this I series if you haven't already, best thing you'll ever read! Thank me later....
I need more immediately! I’m way too invested in this story now! The authors knew what they were doing when they wrote this and now I have to wait for more! The characters are great, the romance is hot, and the world building is intriguing. Loved reading this and will impatiently await more!
Though this book is definitely needed in the story, it felt more like filler (some of it sexy filler). Just like the ones before it, though, the cliffhanger was golden.
