In less than a century it's grown from a private revelation of a humble nun in Poland to a devotion that spans the globe. What makes the Divine Mercy the fastest-growing devotion in the history of the Church?

This is a wonderful book, one I anticipate hanging onto for future reference. Drew Mariani does an excellent job describing the history of the Divine Mystery and how Divine Mercy Sunday came to be added to the Catholic Church calendar. It's very well researched, super easy to read and has so many great tidbits about why all of us should have a devotion to the Divine Mystery and should take the time to pray the Divine Mercy chaplet every day. After reading this, I intend to incorporate that devotion into my prayer life.
Absolutely incredible book. I learned so much than I already knew about the Divine Mercy Prayer. Fast read with lots of great content, explanations, and stories of the power of Jesus through this prayer. Highly recommend!
Fantastic read on the Divine Mercy devotion I would highly recommend by the very generous Catholic radio personality Drew Mariani who offered this book for free for a time I’m so glad I snagged my copy.
Love Drew Mariani and all the Relevant radio staff. This is the context behind Drew’s passion for the Hour of Power and very conversational. It breaks down the history and the reason for being behind a life of Divine Mercy. If you doubt miracles, this books will rekindle your hope. Really short and sweet.

I like Drews Mariani's theme of Mercy. For instance I like how Drew shows the teaching of Christ and God's mercy is essential to his nature. The story of a woman named Victoria Ruvolo gets hit by a frozen Turkey that came crashing through her windshield that was thrown by a teenager and later she needed reconstructive surgery, she went to the teenager's sentencing she gave a hopeful message at his trial giving mercy and calling to repentance to the young man. “Everytime I hear stories like these, I realize what a powerful thing mercy is. Mercy is God's greatest attribute”( Mariani 8). This shows that inheriting the mercy of God can lead to spiritual renewal and a more compassionate way of living. Next I love Drew Maraiani's resolution in the book because he put up a bunch of quotes that are heartfelt and whoever is reading the book to be inspired and changes their life for the better. “Finally, one of the most important things you can do for yourself and others is spread the message of the Divine Mercy”( Mariani 124). I think this is a great quote because the reader will take this information and use it in the real world once their mind realises how Great God’s mercy is in our life. In addition Drew introduced a story of a man who was a static character named Rudolf Hoss who was in charge of Auschwitz for three years and was known as the butcher of Auschwitz. He was the commandant who oversaw the killing of 2,500,000 people there. “ People called Hoss an animal. He was the one who decided to use the pesticide Zyklon B in the gas chambers to make them more efficient.”( Mariani 6). Why I think this is a static character is because when the Nazis were a thing they were all loyal to Hitler and wouldn’t change for anything. To add even more after the war Rudolf Hoss turns into a dynamic character. When Hoss was hiding as a Gardner,British soldiers found him and beat him. “Mercy had changed the life of the most notorious death-camp commandant in the Nazi regime.”(Mariani 7). Father Lohn came to his prison he was at to hear his confession which went on for a long time and Father Lohn granted him absolution. So really Gods wants us to desperately to share in his life that he is willing to forgive the most heinous things we have done. Drew shares this quote from St.Faustina talking about her visions of the afterlife one filled with joy and the other people suffering and the abyss of hell. “One day I saw two roads. One was broad, covered with sand and flowers, full of joy, music and all sorts of pleasures. People walked along it, dancing and enjoying themselves. They reached the end without realizing it and at the end of the road there was a horrible precipic;that is, the abyss of hell.”(Mariani 109). To me this is a powerful image and it really shows that we have a choice to make, you can go carelessly in life or live for God and grow into holiness. The genre of the book is Catholic Devotion and really a inspiring book to read when you feel your self drifting away from God. “These aren’t just stories they’re encounters with the living mercy of God, moments where heaven touched earth in the lives of ordinary people.” ( Mariani 125). I think this line best represents the inspirational and spiritual nonfiction nature of the book.
I loved this book. I recommend this to all Catholics and non Catholics. It’s an honest look into our salvation and how we can live our lives, Trusting in His Mercy. I loved reading about the miracles of His Mercy, in today’s times. And learning about St. Faustina. A short amazing read! You’ll want to read it over and over again!
Beautiful Book, nicely written, great to meditate on, some prayers in it, I am very familiar with Divine Mercy and I practice it I do the three o' clock, I think everyone should. Highly recommended book.
A persuasive, practical companion to St. Faustina's diaries that effectively summarizes key concepts from the mystic's journals and places those ideas into the broad framework of Catholic theology, providing readers a succinct manual for seeking and spreading compassion in everyday life.
One of my sisters recommended this book to me after she got it from Relevant Radio.
It's so powerful, vivid, and it definitely makes a girl think about the state of her soul.
I have a feeling this review is going to be super short because I literally don't know how to cover everything that this slim - but Mary Poppin's bag-like - book somehow managed to capture so expertly.
The parts I especially loved were the excerpts from St. Faustina's Diary and seeing what Jesus and God told her, the types of visions she had, the visits God granted her to experience Heaven, Hell, and Purgatory, as well as the miracles happened through Divine Mercy, the chaplet, St. Faustina's mission, etc. It was everything.
