Prince Frederick Unconventional. Confrontational. Trouble.
Benjamin Roberts Single Dad. Charity Director. Commoner.
Rick has always been hot property where the press is concerned. Gay. Tattooed. Rides a motorbike. Frequently caught doing things so unbecoming of the next in line to the throne. In fear of the family reputation, his parents demand he clean up his image.
Ben’s charity has just won the patronage of Royalty. Sure, Prince Frederick has a reputation, but apparently he’s trying to change all that, and that’s where Ben’s charity comes in.
Sparks fly when they meet and Rick faces another temptation. Would an affair with Ben be a step too far for Rick’s family? Is love enough of a reason to risk everything? When it’s love vs duty, will the head or the heart win? *** Because I Want Him is a standalone in the MM Single Dad Romance Series 'Just Because'. It's a royalty/royal prince/commoner gay romance set in England (UK) with a side of humour, steamy sex, and a cute kid thrown in.
Drew is an Irish author with a panache for sarcasm and a love of the random, her cynicism knows no bounds, but she’s a secret hopeless romantic who likes to let her characters sizzle on the pages.
She lives her with two children, and dreams of escaping to Hampshire, the home of Jane Austen. When she’s not writing, you can find her knitting, crocheting, shouting at Ireland playing rugby, and of course reading.
Well, that was boring... Really really boring. The bad boy we were promised was nowhere to be found and the romance was flat and oh...did I mention boring?
I absolutely loved this one! I don't know why I put off reading it for so long.
Rick(Prince) was a sweetheart but used the press to buck the system. After his latest stunt, flipping off the media on his motorcycle, he was forced to buckle down and repair his image.
Ben was head of a charity for homeless children and his daughter Emma (6) was along for the ride.
There was an instant attraction that grew with each visit to the charity. They were playful and but skittish to believe they liked each other the same. Rick was great with Emma and planned dates with her in mind.
Rick had a lot of respect for Ben and refused to sleep with him on a night he had to leave. It just made their first time even more special.
It was a sweet ending.
💥 Instant attraction 💥 no third act break just a geographic separation due to outside issues. 💥 Emma was adorable but had minimal page time (which I appreciate)
I think this is my favourite book by Duncan so far. The chemistry between Rick and Ben is palpable, but it's the banter between Rick and Hugo that makes the entire book for me. I absolutely ADORE them both (Hugo needs his own book tbh).
Low angst, lo drama, high on romance and the steam is great too - not overdone, not gratuitous, and completely in line with the story itself.
A charity head, a sweet little girl and a prince. Do happily ever after dreams come true? When these two men meet it’s instant attraction. But being a Prince, can he act on his feelings? Is love worth it? This book was amazing and emotional. Moving and loving. Truly loved this one.
I'm so sorry but this bored me, I kept trying to read on hoping something would happen but in the end I gave up on it, which is a shame as the book before this was good. No disrespect to the author, just not my thing I guess
