A few months ago I was slinging drinks at a dive bar, and now I’m confronting powers and a destiny that I never knew I had.
It seems my fate has caught up with me, despite all my years on the run. For the past few months, I’ve been hunkered down in the Shadow Council’s Hollywood Hills mansion, trying to stay off the radar of a rogue fae family who is out for my blood. Spending my days training and discovering my powers with a team of smoking hot supernaturals has kept me plenty occupied, though.
Before I know it, I’m searching all over the globe to find the missing parts of the Megalith Agoriad, a key that opens the portals between realms. Can I find it before my rivals do, and before they find me?

See my review for book 1—everything I mentioned there is even worse in this book.
There’s no character development. No one has a personality! They’re all basically dull shadows going through the motions of their lives. There’s no fun, no love, no laughs…everyone in this book has the disposition of Lurch (from the Addams Family).
There’s no relationship development, no feelings, just random sexual encounters with acquaintances.
There’s very little world-building.
The dialogue is awkward (because one ‘Lurch’ talking to another is going to make for unnatural and stilted conversation).
The tone of the book feels archaic, but it’s supposed to be modern LA. The underlying seriousness doesn’t fit with the setting or situation, and it’s a downer.
The awkward dialogue, more-than-awkward character interactions, strange tone, and disconnect from the characters were all too much. I was interested in the plot, but fighting through the rest of the issues was more than I bargained for. I give up. DNF
WARNING! Cliffhanger! This book picks up where the previous book left off, and ends on a cliffhanger, that is a pretty big one. That means this is NOT a standalone, and must be read as part of the series.
Nova and her men must fight against Kellan, but first they need to discover what Nova hid, and what her lost memories are hiding.
This is an action packed book, with a lot going on. Some huge secrets are revealed, and a lot of things are explained, though not everything. (Trying to be both vague and helpful here!). Big romance strides are made, and we start to see some interaction between Nova as well as between her men. Most of the scenes are on the less descriptive end though, because the story is really more about the magic and romance than about the sex.
It’s an enjoyable urban fantasy though, with reverse harem elements for fans of either genre.
In the second book we start off shortly after the first book ends. There wasn’t much expanded on what was said in the cliffhanger of the first book but more details follow later. The story continues with Nova and the guys trying to access Nova’s memories and to stop the attacks that have been on her in the first one. We see her and the guys growing closer and their relationship expanding. The story is extremely well written and developed. it has a lot of action, drama, and suspense. It definitely keeps you on the edge of your seat. This one ends in an epic way and boy is this cliffhanger even bigger than the first one. I am definitely excited to see what is going to happen next.
First off this is not a stand alone novel. It ends with a cliff hanger so you might want to buy the whole series right off. I like to do that as I can't stand for the next novel to come in. The Midnight Key pulls you in from the very first colorful page. The snappy dialogue and amazing world-building will have you on the edge of your seat! Don't miss this new series. I received an Advanced Reader Copy from the author this is my honest review,
Nova and her guys are still battling Kell an and his army. Thus look ends in a cliffhanger . Nova and Thai to remember their past and the love they shared. Said and Nova are bonded. Bain is able to touch Nova. Remy loves Nova and is extremely protective.
The ending is definitely sit at the edge of your seat and hang on type of ending. I can’t wait to read the next book to come out. This definitely will keep you hooked up until the end.
