Surviving the kings’ malicious games isn’t the only obstacle I have to conquer—if I don’t find a cure for the poison, it might just kill me before they do.

We have less than three days to return to the capital with Jax before my life is on the line. But with my condition worsening every day and my body growing weaker, we find ourselves out of time.

The new plan? Find the cure in the mage kingdom and pray that it works.

New alliances are formed, old ones are broken, and Aaliyah is more determined than ever to capture me.

I’ll fight for the life I want...or die trying.

Let the grim reaper come for me.

I’ll be ready.

Sloth is book four of a seven book reverse harem series. This means that the FMC will not have to choose between her love interests at the end. This book contains strong language, sexual situations, and scenes of graphic violence. Reader's discretion is advised.

Think I'm done with this series. Too many inconsistencies and plot holes for my taste. I just keep getting more and more annoyed with each book.

I was on the fence with The Damning series, but thought I'd come back to it for book 4. Not worth it. There are glaring grammar errors and the simple sentence structure is painful to go through.

It's a shame because there are elements in this series that I think are quite compelling, but it's wrapped up with a lot of convoluted goop. Overall, I don't think this series is for me. It's not the worst thing I've read this year by any stretch, but it also doesn't really intrigue me to keep reading.

NGL…. This book has put me off of the series. It was loads of sludge, for lack of a better term, and should have been reduced to a few chapters in a better part of the series.

I say this because we already know what the antagonist wants, also what the protagonist wants… and then there was a lot of word diarrhea… like all over the place.

I’m certainly missing things bc I’m skipping chapters, but also not… kinda like a midday soap opera where the same pot happens for months on end and if you skip a few weeks you still know exactly what’s happening without missing anything.

I’m literally saying this with an hour left (via audiobook) and will finish soon, and I want to finish this series out because it had a great plot until now, but truly there doesn’t seem to need to drag this out for seven books based on the seven deadly sins if there’s no plot.

But I guess this is sloth and I should have taken the cue and fallen asleep?

As obsessed as I was with the first three books I just couldn't get into this one. I got bored. Plenty of stuff happened, but it started to make less sense. Lots of plotholes. I'm not that invested in the characters anymore. Z stopped being interesting, but instead became a lame female love interest.
There was a lot of delicious smut, but it cost a lot of plot. So yeah, it was hot, but I would've preferred less smut. Didn't know the day would ever come where I type that. But it's true. I'd rather the author fixed her plotholes than wrote smut.

I love this series. I love this world, I love these characters, I love the quick pacing even though May takes her time to tell her story, I love the magic, I love the brutality and now I'm very sad that the next three books are unwritten yet. I know that authors need time to write books, but I want the rest of this series like RIGHT NOW! However, at least today I could enjoy this fourth book in the series and now I will wait. Patiently. Well. As patiently as possible.

I have to admit that I liked this fourth book a little less than the previous three, but it's hard to pinpoint why exactly. It's more a feeling and not an objective observation. For some reason I didn't have the same adrenaline rush while reading this book and somehow my feelings were less extreme. Does that mean I didn't enjoy this book? On the contrary! I enjoyed it an awful lot and finished the book in one sitting. It's still a good book, just not as great as the other three.

I also would have loved to see a little more of the mage world. I know that strictly speaking we didn't see much more of the vampire kingdom either, but for some reason I felt like we got a better impression of life in that kingdom. However, it's quite clear, even from the few things we did see, that no place in this world is friendly towards humans. The one scene where we did really travel into the kingdom was quite sickening and therefore very vivid.

What I really enjoyed, once more, in this book though is watching the relationship between Z and her mates grow and develop. Quite some emotional things happened in this book and every mate had to show his true feelings and colors. At times the story was really heartbreaking, but I really loved how one of the ongoing storylines was resolved in this book. On top of that the other one just got way more complicated and way more interesting. I can't wait for the next book!

A reluctant four stars.
Don’t get me wrong I really like how Katie writes and I love her humor and I love her male characters and I actually really enjoy her heroins also.
But I can’t stand her obsession with homofying everything and everyone.
This girl is obsessed with anything that has to do with dicks and asses and forcing straight men to do gay shit and forcing dicks onto everybody and it’s just seems so creepy.
If it was a male writer, forcing every straight female character into lesbian stuff and for lesbians to force themselves onto straight women people would be outraged because it would be so creepy. And I’m saying this with the utmost respect for the gay community I have no problem with it.
But the way she forces it constantly. It’s just so fucking creepy and immature. It’s the one thing I can’t stand about Katie‘s books, even in a previous series where the men were straight and had endured sexual assault as children by men, she would still have other male characters constantly, forcing themselves on these men , it’s just wrong and creepy.
It’s almost like Katie can’t stand for men to want their female mate. It’s like she’s obsessed with making them try and do gay shit even if they don’t want it and even if they’re not gay. It annoys the fuck out of me and it kind of ruins the story and the believability of the love the character.

Maybe it’s just not my cup of tea

Maybe it’s just me, most likely it is, but it’s just too much. It’s not even interesting anymore. Would I like to see their happy ending, yes, am I going to finish the series so I can, no. Editing is good. Writing is good, a little too much repetition, but it feels like everything is just drawn out too much to make the series longer. I slogged through the first 4 books, I was still interested after book 1, a little less so after book 2, and it kept going downhill for me. However, I’m sure many other people will love this series, it’s just not for me.

So she brought Jax back to life, using some powers, yet not one of them had questioned what is she. Clearly not human, but seems they didn’t think that was something worthy of discussion.
While Dair exists, Kill actually might be my least favorite.
I get that he is supposed to be naive, but does he have to be that dumb? Dude spent days in brothels, yet now in book 4 he doesn’t understand shit.

Filler

This book was a little frustrating. I feel like there's a bunch of nothing happening. Sure, little things here or there are happening, but I don't feel like the plot is progressing. It's standing still in the same spot while things happen around it. I guess we'll find out if all this random stuff happening around the plot will eventually tie into it or not.
Right now I don't really get what is happening. Why are the kings expecting weird loyalty tests? Why don't they seem to care about their sons? Why would they force Z to marry someone who isn't her mate? It makes no sense at the moment. I do understand that they're trying to become immortal. I just don't get why all the crazy stuff? Does Aaliyah require the kings to keep Z from having her mates? I'll read on, but I am already finding myself skimming through chapters because nothing important seems to be happening.

I have been waiting for the next book in this series I was really happy when it came out. I felt as if I was disappointed not that the story went a way I didn’t like and for sure not disappointed in the amazing writing I was disappointed I didn’t get enough. It’s not shorten at all the story goes all the way to 99%. I love these characters KILLIAN is still number one and then JAX!!! The other guys toss up depending on the scenes I read but my top two will forever be the same. Z is changing a lot in the series and I don’t know if book 5 is the last book she been through a lot already so if it is good for her if not I’m ready to keep this ride going with her and her sinful seven mates.

I think this is where I’ll be ending the series. I understand that the story is dragged out to fit the theme of one book per sin, however the story just feels very inconsistent and has so many plot holes.
Books 1-3 were bearable and quite nice to get though, however now it just feels like the pilot keeps having ideas randomly added to it just for the sake of it.
The writing style, however, it quite good. I love how easily distinguishable each character is, something that is very hard to do, especially with so many characters.
And all their different personalities and the way they talked were just amazing.

I had to take a break after reading before writing a review. This book left me with some answer but also so many more questions. Z is on death’s door in this book, thanks to the poison she was given in book 1, but that doesn’t seem to keep her from slowing down or helping people like she so often does. My heart hurts for her and her mates and everything they are put through and have to endure. I love finding out more about each character in each additional book. The ending of this particular installment really broke my heart and I need Katie to fix it ASAP!

After reading Greed, book one of The Damning series for my monthly Book Club I could not stop at one and devoured the rest of the books currently available in this series.

This paranormal reverse harem romance is packed with action, humour and a slow burn heat that definitely begins to ramp up once we dive further in the series. Filled with witty one liners and unexpected contradictions, you can’t help but be enjoy these books and fall in love with the characters. Each book pulls you further into the complicated world of Z and her mates, the Sin Princes, as they battle against the dark dystopian society that the Kings have created.

I can’t wait for the next book Pride to see where the author takes this series next.

Bash-hole

This story was Bash’s redemption arc and I was here for it. After saving Jax the team travel to the Mage lands to find a cure for Z. We meet Paco, an old mage king and man is he funny. He is able to help with curing Z but there is a downside - she has to die first. Unfortunately two of her mates aren’t in the Mage lands so don’t know of the plan, meaning we have a big fall out to overcome in the next book. Between Paco, Axels mad antics and seeing a new side to Bash this was a great read

Death becomes her

Now that was an eye opening experience! Jax dies but Z somehow brings him back. Z has to die from the poison, but Paco brings her back. Meanwhile, back at the capital, Lupe and Devlin are neck deep trouble.
And surprise, surprise! The stupid Kings think they have found a way around Z and her mates by marrying her off to Axel. I can’t wait to see how THAT turns out.

This book lost me. I don't think I can do 3 more books after this. But, I do want to know if S will be a part of her harem. So, I will probably be skipping to read that part alone. I feel like the author wanted there to be 7 books for 7 sins, but really the villains can't be unalived before the 7th one. So, until then random scenes are put in and the characters are made to react to that. What was even the direction of thought process in this one? No clue.

Book 4

This series is great but it just seems like there are never any lasting happy moments. All the happy moments are quickly shattered by super sad awful things happening. The books are intense and emotional. But they are very well written and I really enjoy them despite the pain the cause me haha

A whirlwind of emotions!!!

Damn,,, that ending stressed the f*ck out of me!!!! This series is getting sooo intense!! In book 4, we are given more action than ever and I loved every second of it!! Though, I am already stressed on what will happen next in book 5. Katie May truly is amazing in making such unique and amazing stories!

Too many questions are open.

That's how I feel about the ending of this book. What will happen with Lupe? Can Devlin kill Aaliyah? Can Dair fix the problem with Lupe? What happens with the Shadow King? Why is Z agreeing to the "reward" from the kings for saving Jax? Like I said, too many questions left unanswered. Its going to be h*ll waiting for book five. :(

So good

These continue to keep me wanting more. I couldn’t put this book down. I hate the kings! I hate the poison rushing through Z! I hate that she has been spelled to do the king’s bidding. And now being forced to be married and not to her mates! Seriously not ok! I can’t wait to read more.

Lots of repetition of previous parts of the story even repeating parts of the same memories in the book. Also a lot of spelling/grammatical errors compared to the other books that I found distracting. The saga continues and there are a few interesting curve balls. I downloaded book 5 and will continue reading… gotta know what happens now!!

Loving this series!

I am throughly and completely obsessed with this series. Z and her men are *chefs kiss* all I’m going to say is this is a must read series. I can’t really explain anything else because they would be spoilers and I absolutely refuse to put spoilers in my reviews.

You Have To Read

I love this whole series but I really loved this book. This one brought emotions but I laughed so much when they met Paco, which was needed to balance some of the dark days they went through. I'm happy that Bash and Z relationship moved into something real. I also can't wait till we see more of S and for them to find Lupe and Devlin before mistakes are made.

As always I could have longer books. What will she do with her human army? How are they going to find the other two to mend the bond? So much has to happen in the next one? This was still a great book and I can't wait for more!

A Much Awaited Fourth Installmemt

We've waited a while for the fourth book of this series and it was worth the wait. The plot thickens surrounding Z and her men. There's moments of humour and sadness plus passion a plenty!
