A man who has been burned too many times. A woman who’s running from her ex. Will they help each other heal and find a second chance at love?
Brooks Stone, FBI superhero, strike that, demoted FBI now … doesn’t want to talk about why he had a mental break a year ago. He doesn’t want to talk about his dead partner. He really doesn’t want to talk to about why the tremor in his hand won’t go away. When he agrees to watch the family Inn for two weeks, he finds himself looking forward to the peace of South Port. Too bad he meets a strange woman with eyes that reminds him of the ocean and an attitude so bad, she could scare off any lethal assassin, except him of course.
Serenity Rome only knew one thing about life; it was hard. Good thing she could do hard. She’d done hard when her father had left when she was ten. She’d done hard when her mother had been given the diagnosis of Alzheimer’s five years ago. And she’d done even harder when the man she’d married had turned violent and threatened to kill her. Now, as she rus for her life, all she knows is that she has to find the Conquistador’s gold. The gold her family journal proves she had claim to.
When she wakes up on a park bench, and discovers she’s face to face with Brooks Stone, one of the infamous Stone family, she has no idea why he offers to have her stay at his family Inn. She only agrees to it because it gives her an opportunity to learn more about this treasure. Not because the man is gorgeous. No. She could care less about how gorgeous he is or how he seems to see right through her lies, but wants to help her anyway. No, she doesn’t care about any of that.
As these six Stone siblings find a way back to each other, they must learn to let go of what doesn’t matter and cling to the things their parents always wanted for them--family, love, and fun memories on the beach.

A note from the author:
Thanks for visiting my Goodreads page.
I wanted to tell something meaningful about myself, but let's start with the important stuff--I love swoon-worthy heroes. The kind of heroes that are strong and would take a bullet for you, but also want to open your door and listen to you pour out your heart.
What else? I grew up moving. If you’ve read my books, you won’t be surprised by this. I have a lot of moving themes through my books centered around characters experiencing pain from someone moving.
It was hard. But, I believe there’s always a seed of good that comes out of everything hard, so I think the best thing that came from it was that I learned to love books.
And I had to learn a lot of mad skills on friend making. It gave me a love of people…good people, compassionate people. Interesting people of all kinds.
What else about me? I am a mother and wife! I have four amazing boys that are like little ninjas running around. I love them so much and I’m so grateful for my amazing husband who doesn’t get intimidated by all the billionaire men in my life.
I have a fierce love of my Savior, Jesus Christ. I am so grateful for Him and for the healing and forgiveness I’ve gotten to experience in my life. This is a theme in many of my books.
I love being an American. I am so proud of the men and women that support and preserve our freedom. This is another theme you will find in my books.
I am so grateful for my fans and for the support and love you all show me! Don’t stop reading!
This is a really good installment of the series. Brooks has suffered a devastating loss on the job. He lost his partner and let the suspect’s voice into his thoughts. After a demotion he heads to the Inn to take his turn caring for it while his brothers family goes on vacation. Serenity has run from an abusive ex husband that will not leave her alone. She has only a little money but also has her grandfather’s journal telling about the conquistadors gold. She and Brooks take on the quest and run into a lot of problems. Banks is still searching for the gold and the ex husband is still after Serenity. What else can happen? Will they be able to find the gold?
This was an awesome book, #4 in the South Port Beach series. There are elements of the otherworldly as well as references to Christian living in this book, which I loved. This story features Brooks, an FBI agent, and Serenity, a divorced woman on the run from her abusive ex-husband. Both suffer from PTSD and its effects. As they navigate a new relationship, issues from the past creep into their lives threatening their future. Throw in a search for the Conquistador gold, a crazy billionaire and an ex-husband, and you have an action-packed ending for the 5-star novel. And by the way, Brooks and Serenity find their happily ever after!
Maybe the best thing about Taylor’s books are that she writes about broken people. The Stone Family Haven features Brooks Stone who was broken by his last case working for the FBI and the death of his partner. Serenity Rome has been broken by a hard life and the betrayal of her ex. Then they find each other and discover that their brokenness is just what they needed to help heal the other person.
I loved the book, and even while taking a break to eat lunch, I found my mind going back and trying to fill in how the rest of the story would go. A sweet faith filled romance with a dash of the supernatural. Just exactly the kind of book I love.
Brooks… I just wasn’t prepared for how much I would empathize with and love Mr. Ivy League! He seems so shut off in his siblings romances, but you really get to understand why in his story. It takes a very special lady to capture his heart and Serenity is perfect for the job. Of course, both have ‘issues’ to work through-learning that God is in control and that all things, even (or ESPECIALLY) the really hard things, work together for good. I won’t share all of my favorite parts of the book because #NoSpoilers! And, once again, I have a new favorite in the South Port Beach Romances 😁
Great story! I'm,I've the Stone family. They are such a close-knit family and always there for each other. Brooks is struggling after losing his partner during a case and trying to come to terms with us. Serenity is running from her abusive ex-husband that will not leave her alone. Her mother gave her a journal regarding the treasure in South Port that the Stone family have been looking for for years. They help each other with getting through there issues.
I love the sweet emotional stories and how they pray through their problems. It is such an inspiring story. Can't wait for Taylor Hart's next story on Trent. The sneak peek already has me excited for it.
Can either one find the haven they need? Finding a safe place to heal and move forward from can feel impossible sometimes and that is the situation Brooks and Serenity find themselves in. Brooks is on leave from the FBI after losing his partner on a raid. He feels responsible and needs to find some way through. Serenity is on the run from her abusive ex. Even after months he still follows her and tries to get her to come back. When Brooks almost hits Serenity with his car and then finds her sleeping in the park, he feels driven to help her but just maybe she can help him as well as they face demons from their past as well as evil in the present.
I had an Advance Readers Copy of this book, but this is my voluntary and honest opinion. Taylor Hart has done a great job writing this book, with a little suspense, and a lot of heart it’s a must read. The plot includes forgiveness and a Godly self-concept. Brooks Stone is taking care of the family Inn while his brother is on vacation. He’s had a rough few months and was reassigned to a desk job with the FBI so he’s not himself. When he encounters Serenity who is on the run from her abusive ex-husband the plot thickens.
A beautifully written romance about Brooks and Serenity, two broken people, who find each other. He’s running from the memories of his murdered FBI partner and she’s running from her abusive ex. She’s looking for the conquistador’s treasure with clues from a journal her mother has given her, but she needs more information from the Stone’s journal. Brooks and her search for the treasure with new clues. Will they get beyond their issues? Will they find the treasure? I highly recommend this book/series.
Excellent series! Right from book one, it has been great adventures, sweet romances, and, gentlemen raised by a loving Mom. I can actually see what these men look like as they gather in groups, work individually and find special people in their lives. Brooks has a lot to overcome in a PTSD sort of way but he has brothers who care and people in his life that will make him a survivor. Alone in the world, Serenity, is on the run, has disabling thoughts and finds South Port comforting. Grand story-line and terrific characters that make me want to move to their village. Thanks for a great book.
This is Brooks and Serenity’s story!! She is running from an abusive relationship, he is reeling from seeing his old partner die in his arms and a criminal who got in his head. They are both broken, their path is a good one. As always this is clean with a little Intrigue!! Wonderful addition to a great series. You could read it alone, but I’d recommend every single book, you won’t be disappointed!!
The Stone Family Haven is an awesome, heartwarming romance. Brooks and Serenity are well matched in that they are both broken and suffering from PTSD. The book works as a stand alone but I have read each book in the series and together they are even better! I love this family! There is plenty of suspense in this book as well as romance. I love that both Brooks and Serenity are healing with God's love and prayer. Read the entire series, not just this well written book that I could not put down!
This series just keeps getting better and better. This newest book in the Stone Family series is about Brooks and Serenity. They are both suffering from past trauma in their lives and are drawn together. Watching their journey is amazing. I couldn’t put this one down. Of course we get to reconnect with others in the family and their search for the gold. I received a free copy of this book and this is my voluntary, honest review.
A great story and series! I have loved all of these stories. I am still confused how John got involved with Mr. Banksand how it related to Serenity's mom. I highly doubt that after all the things that John did to Serenity that he would so easily say that he would not pursue her anymore. It's not like he was a boyfriend trying to win her over some competition. I am anxious for more in this series! Thanks
Another good romantic suspense in this series. The Stones are still looking for the conquistadors gold which always makes for an interesting tale. Brooks story was different than I'd imagined, but I enjoyed getting to know him better and see his relationship with Serenity bloom. There were some tender moments that I loved and added a very special feeling to this book. I'm looking forward to the next one.
This was probably my favorite book in this series so far. I love Brooks. He’s tough, broken, vulnerable, and a born protector. Just the kind of man Serenity, a woman on the run needs. Can Brooks and Serenity help each other heal and find a second chance? With they discover the Conquistadors’ gold? This book has all the feels mixed in with suspense, mystery, and of course the Stone family. Great book.
Another amazing book in the Stone family series. This was FBI agent Brooks Stone book. He went home to watch the Stone family inn while his brother and sister-in-law took the kids on a vacation. He never expected the time watching the Inn would bring him healing and love. This book was full of fun and action as well as love and family. You don’t want to miss any of the Stone family series.
This is another great story in this series. I love how each member of the Stone family has a different way they meet their mate & fall in love. Because of Serenity's interest in the gold, this relationship has some difficult times. I can't wait for the next book. I received an ARC. This is my voluntary review.
What an intense and exciting adventure. I loved getting to know Serenity as she found her bravery and grew stronger and figured out who she was. I admired Brooks as he overcame his fears, self-doubt, and regrets. I love the entire Strong family and want to get to know them better.
Lots of heartstring tugs in this book! Brooks- trying to recover and deal with horrendous trauma and memories; Serenity running for her life! Wow! Great story and a big stride for the Stone family in their search for the conquistadors gold!! Can’t wait for the next book!! ARC review & all my own opinion! Enjoy!!
Here is another Stone Family story to entice your appetite. Brooks and Serenity each have a troubled past. Somehow they are able to help each other. I enjoyed reading this book and found that I had a hard time putting it down. I just had to know what was going to happen next.
Serenity is running. Brooks is processing some intense emotions. Can they find a haven in each other? Brooks and Serenity have an intriguing past and together they keep this book moving forward with just the right amount of swoon, tension, and energy. I appreciated the faith and references to God's help. An all around great book from start to finish!
The problem I have with 'clean and wholesome' stories is that they are not realistic in this society. Young people who fall in love with each other are no longer 'shy' about enjoying each other physically. And this has been true since the 1960s!
I enjoyed the mystery and intrigue that is woven throughout this story! This one captured my attention from the first page and I didn't want to put it down until I had finished it! Can't wait for the next one!
I received an ARC from the author and all opinions are my own.
I think my top 10 favorites has to extend to 15 now! I love this kind of storyline and Brooks and Serenity are so amazing. The pastor, then the dreams! Oh my goodness the dreams!!! I couldn't put this book down!! So much action and romance! Just fabulous!
This book was amazing. The storyline was thorough and not confusing. It was interlaced with suspense, romance, fear, and triumph. A beautiful addition to this clean series.
Brooks and Serinity make a great match and the hunt for gold continues! Twists and turns everywhere that keep you in suspense! Can’t wait to d the next one!
I was so excited to read book four in this series and it didn't disappoint! This book has a little of everything- mystery, suspense, humor and of course love. I recommend starting with the first book in the series. They are all fantastic!
My husband laughed at me, I needed a drink of water, but I was reaching the peak of the action so I was reading as I walked to the fridge and back to the couch... Couldn't Stop, So Good!! Happy sigh, and the wait begins again for the next book in the series.
Banks is going to get it now. Murder, battered and alone. Serial killers, gold fever, love, hope and some very special visitors. Highly recommended for all readers. Wow! So much going on. Great story.
