When paranormal private investigator Mattie Tucker takes a job as a lifestyle coach for the lead actress, Mattie’s after easy money. Instead, she and local vampire police chief Preston Jackson are in for murder—Hollywood style.
He’s a little Bogart, she’s a little Bacall. Corpse on the Set is the second cozy mystery romp set in Miller’s Cove, Tennessee—the paranormal home you didn’t know you needed, but will never want to leave.
Juliette Harper is the pen name used by the writing team of Patricia Pauletti and Rana K. Williamson. As a writer, Juliette's goal is to create strong female characters facing interesting, challenging, painful, and at times comical situations. Refusing to be bound by genre, her primary interest lies in telling good stories.
With a film crew in town to learn how to live the 40's way before filming, Mattie has a new job as a 40's life coach. Teaching Natalie the co-star how to manage on rations, how to knit, how to do laundry without a washing machine.. and far more.
The young actress takes to the challenge and applies herself with gusto mostly, as do her friends who are staying for her birthday weekend.
But there's things going wrong; a model plane has its ropes cut and almost takes out the films director; there are issues on set, and a carpenter is sacked. Then there's the ghost of Dodger, the original pilot of Charlene, a B-17, which has been restored for the film. And there's a weird bitter taste in the air whenever something happens.
Can Mattie and her friends help Preston get to the bottom of it all before anyone dies?
These are fun and quick little paranormal cozies. Mattie, along with her chief of police, vampire boyfriend are working together to solve a mystery on the set of a film crew, in their small 1940s themed town.
When the mystery takes a deadly turn, they need to step up their game, before someone else gets killed.
This was an especially interesting story for me as I was a child in the 30s and 40s and I work with ghosts every day as part of my counseling practice. The authors have done an excellent job of recreating the early 20th century and are incredibly accurate in describing ghost behavior. I can't wait to read more of their work.
I love these books. My mom has been reading all of the jinx books and loving them. I had her read the first one in this series and she finished the second one before I did. Quick reads and fun reads.
a movie is about to start filming in a small paranormal town and murder is on someone's mind. With the help of a bomber pilot, Mattie is able to uncover the truth surrounding a director and a young movie star. Its an interesting story, that keeps you wondering.
Love all the characters in this series wouldn’t mind having a personal dresser like Raylene. Looking forward to the next book and seeing more of Madison and Helene.
