*This series is unpublished and has been rewritten with brand new plot and books added to the series. This edition does not follow the updated storyline.
Over a year ago, my only real friend allowed her boyfriend to come for me. I’d only played a joke on him, but I almost paid for it with my life. Broken bones healed, but our friendship was gone. Aurora Donovan was dead to me.
My boyfriend Stevo is an abusive junkie, but I can’t leave. He’d kill me if I even thought about it. No one knows the danger I’m in, until Alex finds me beaten and bloody.
I never expected him to become so important to me, which complicates things. His best friend is my ex-stepbrother who murdered my dad five years ago. I’ve avoided them both like the plague, refusing to let them close. Not that either of them seemed to get the memo.
I’m spiralling, and I don’t even know myself any more. Everyone has a breaking point, but I never thought I’d be pushed to mine. I’m no better than the people I’ve spent years hating.
Violence is never the answer, but I don’t have a choice. The Reapers of Chaos crew are one thing, but the Shadow Kings crew are another. I never thought I’d have to lean on the Psychos or Devil’s for help.
My name’s Jade Winters, and I’ve been keeping secrets. But it turns out I’m not the only one.
R.E. Bond is a dark romance author from Tasmania, Australia. She is obsessed with reverse harem books, especially if they have m/m! She collects paperbacks as a hobby, has read or written every day since she started high school, and constantly needs music in her daily life. She loves camping and rodeos in the summer, and not getting out of bed in the winter. Coffee and books are life, and curse words are just sentence enhancers.
I love Rory. I really really do, but Jade?! Jade felt real to me. Her life's circumstances, the way she behaved, and the emotional trauma, it felt so fucking raw. Rach, you really blew this one out of the park. The character development in this one is on another level, the relationship building was perfect, and the plot was well thought out. I loved the dynamic between Jade, Harley, and Alex. I will admit, Harley took me a while to accept. I liked Jade with Alex and I was content with that. But Rach said FUCK CONTENT, YOU NEED TO BURN, and burn I did. When Harley found his place with the three of them, it was like a fucking bomb went off and I did indeed burn. Now I can't see it any other way. This series has sucked me in from book one and with each installment, I salivate for the next!
Review : I am so addicted to this new world by this author! Jade’s book was one of my most anticipated reads and I loved every word. It’s a twisted tale of lies , deception and love and it soothed my dark romance loving heart so well!
Jade , Harley and Alex have a tale that has been woven since their teens. And now is the time to finally get those answers. I loved these characters and the book was an amazing one time read for me .
I would recommend this one to all the lovers of this author but make sure to read them in order since the plot are connected!
Perfectly Jaded is the fifth book in the Watch Me Burn series and is focused on Jade. We previously met her back in Rory's story, where we learned a little about her then. In typical RE fashion, this book is equally messed up in terms of triggers. Jade hasn't had an easy past, but both lucky and unlucky for her, Alex and Harley were there through all of it. The growth and roller coaster that Jade experiences in her story with her men and also herself is absolutely astonishing. She is thrown curve balls left and right, in both the past and the present, but somehow finds herself overcoming the obstacles. Her story is definitely rough, but her struggle to make it through alive is worth it.
Jade - Wow. This book was a rollercoaster of emotions. It was hard to read in the beginning. In the middle I was like WTHeck? And at the end I was rooting for her and her guys!
First off, Jade is nothing like Rory. I was a bit worried we were going to have another trigger happy psycho FMC. Jade has been belittled, raped and stepped on her whole life and didn’t kno her own self worth. The mental instability she faces throughout this book has me feeling so hard for her. Really the book hits an underlying message someone needs to hear.
…You are worth it, you are beautiful, you can do anything and love is out their for you…
This is Jades story. Yes we see Rory and all of her guys. We get them a lot which definitely made me happy. But Jades story lies with Harley and Alex. Secrets are kept and feelings are hidden until everything blows up in their faces until they can’t hide it.
Harley has a past that now brings a new crew to town and they are out for blood. We still don’t fully know the reasoning but I am here for it to find out!!!! Alex, my sweet Alex. I was rooting for him but in the end he caved and I feel has more explaining and butt kissing to do lol.
This was just an amazing book. I almost felt for Rory with how her guys were treating Jade. I hope to see more actual love, romance in her next book with her and her guys. I need some sort of validation that they in fact are head over heels for Rory. 🤷🏼♀️
Jades story was a continuation of all of the craziness that goes down in crew life but also with her life story and Harleys and Alex. I was not expecting a book like this from this author. It was a home run and feel like this author has sooo much potential.
I also feel like you could read this book as a stand-alone if you wanted. Some things might confuse you, but it was greatly written. I’m pretty sure I loved this one book more than all of Rorys stories. I look forward to more ♥️♥️
*Overall 5/5 *Heat? 4/5 *Dark? 4/5 - Rape, couple abuse, sexual abuse, torture, drugs… it got pretty dark *First person POV - Jade, Harley and Alex *HEA? The series continues, but I do believe she got her HEA, yes. Thank goodness. Lol
With every book that RE Bond releases, I always wonder, what kind of fucked up shit am I in for? Honestly, I am never prepared for whatever Rach throws my way. First a series, that features a large harem of fucked up possessive assholes. Now, I’m in Jade’s world and she’s the kind of fucked up that makes you want to just burn the world for her and then cuddle with her in a blanket. As a victim of violence, I wasn’t sure if I would get triggered by Jade’s story. But I have to realize, I’m stronger than I ever was before. And I know Jade is too. I know exactly how she feels, I know exactly what’s she’s going through. There are people around her who’d rough shit up on that sleazy toxic AF of a boyfriend but really, is it worth it? Would you risk it? Too many questions, not enough answers. I cried for Jade. I cried for the times she’s been beaten. I cried because I know how a slap feels when someone is high on drugs. I cried because I know what’s it’s like to witness the man you loved once is only a shell and only lets himself be that guy you fell in love with when he’s high as a kite. And I cried because I know what it’s like to witness the come down. I cried because I was Jade at one point. The only thing was that Jade had people in her corner. She had Alex and Harley. I didn’t have that.
Now, let’s just talk about these sexy guys Jade’s got in her life. Harley has his crosses to bear, a secret to keep. A murderous young man who will raze the world for Jade. Alex has his issues and can be gentle and kind, but don’t mistake that for weak because he isn’t. But the one thing that’s prevalent, is their love for Jade. The chemistry between the three of them is smoking hot. Thanks Rach for the emotional roller coaster. Thank you for bringing up memories I long since buried but knew those tears had to be shed because it’s been a long time coming. Looking forward to Lexi’s story. There’s definitely more in this world. Definitely more turf wars are coming, more gang members than I ever anticipated. But, it was so great to visit this world again, so good to catch up with Rory and her guys. I’ve missed them.
As we continue reading the stories of these girls that revolve around the Psycho's has just been one hell of a ride.
We get so much going on, the corruption, the lies, the twists and turns and the surprises that we never thought would be coming head on.
Jade, Harley and Alex are a unique trio. They have history dating back since their early teens, if not earlier. Their love didn't evolve until they were a little older and having their story told was a great addition to the Psycho's life.
I don't want to go into detail as I will not spoil this series for anyone. You do have to start with the first book in the story in order to understand what's up with this crew and why the stuff that goes down goes down. How Jade got involved with this gang along with Harley and Alex. Everyone always has a story to tell and we have found out a lot about many of the characters in the series.
If you like dark, gritty, and some really sexy scenes going on, then this is the series for you. I promise you won't be disappointed. R.E. Bond should be appraised and get this series turned into a tv drama because that's just how good and intense it is. I mean, there is so much going on that it will leave you falling of your chair.
Jade, Harley and Alex were certainly a trio to remember!
5 Stars
**Received an ARC in exchange for an honest review**
Perfectly Jaded by R.E. Bond is a dark MFM romance. This is the fifth book in the Watch Me Burn series.
The book does come with a warning "This book has detailed domestic violence and rape scenes. Please do not read if you are triggered by these."
I absolutely love this series! It just keeps getting better and better! Rachael does an amazing job pulling me into the book from the first chapter. I have to agree with Rachael acknowledgment sections in the book I was not a big fan of Jade when she was introduced in Rory's book. But this book made me love her! She really grew as a person throughout the book. Her story was a hard one to read but I loved that she found her family!
I loved the relationship that bloomed between Jade, Alex, and Harley. It was a bit of a rollercoaster but you couldn't help but root for them. I loved that we got all three of their points of view throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.
I can't wait for the next book in the series Don't Fear The Reaper to be released on October 10, 2021 so I can get Lexi's story.
I would highly recommend this series if you like dark romances, bully romances, reverse harems, or romantic suspense.
We met Jade at the end of Rory's story, Ignite Me. Things didn't end on a good note and their newly found friendship went south quickly. Life was always a nightmare for her with endless cycles of violence, abuse, betrayal. It wasn't any different when she moved to town.
First off, wow! This one was really powerful, raw, emotional. I literally felt every emotion and I seriously couldn't put this down. This is the 5th book in the watch me burn series and can be read as a standalone. However, for a better understanding and better experience, it's best start the series from the very beginning. I loved the huge character development. Jade really grew into her own and became a "Mini-Rory". Pretty scary thought, but necessary to make it in crew life. This was a story of survival, of overcoming abuse, and finding yourself and inner strength. This has to be my favorite one so far. Can't wait to read Lexi's story
I received an ARC and voluntarily gave my honest opinion and review
This review only is about the relationships between Jade and the other guys, and I feel bad about it. NB : ÉCRIS DE VRAIES REVIEWS APRÈS LE BAC.
Breaking News : First time I root way more for the friendships than for the romance. Alex was great at first and then, stupid. And Harley ? Naah, something's off with him, I don't like the guy. But Jade's friendship with Rory's guys ? Hell, yeah ! It was beautiful and so endearing. Marco, you clearly are the best, I love you. Diesel, not mentionned enough, but I love you. Hunter, babe, I love you. Hell, I even liked Skeeter ? Like ?? I hated him for beating Jade, but he was so cute with her ? Anyways. You guys, are the best, and I love you >>>>>> We didn't get to see much of Jensen, Lukas (does he still exist) and the two others (lmao, such disrespect💀), but the first one and an other whom I forgot the name were kinda cute once they sorted shit out with the h.
Absolutely love this series! Highly recommend reading them if you haven’t yet. You won’t regret it. Especially if you like violence and blood mixed with steamy hot scenes. In the last book it was end of Rory and her boys’ story. But this story you get to know Jade, Alex, and Harley. You get multiple points of views again so you don’t miss anything. You still get Rory and all her craziness. Jade is almost just as crazy. I highly recommend reading this book/series!
Have you been reading this series? If not I highly recommend it. Perfectly Jaded is book five.
We have previously met Jade and now we get to read her story. Her story is painful to read with so many emotions I felt the author was destroying me. I love how strong Jade is. She’s definitely a very likeable character.
I am loving this series and can’t wait to read more. This story was a one sitting read for me.
This was a fun book but it didn’t hook me like Rory's and her guys story. I liked Jade but I didn’t feel much of a connection towards her. Also, the romance between Alex and Harley with her was a little bit lacking.
I still liked this book and I’ll continue the series. My favorite girl is still Rory and I still have a crush on her 😌. I hope I can see more of her in the next books of this series. Toodles!
Watch me burn is a series that just keeps on giving! Jade is a survivor through and through and I loved the way her character grows and becomes something she always needed to be. This book is about surviving abuse and finding yourself, with some street crew business to keep it fascinating! Love the book, love the series, love this author!!
This is my first Book of R.E Bond I've read and definitely won't the the last. After the first couple of pages I realised this was part of a series (my bad) there's 4 books before this. But in saying that I could still understand the storyline. (I'll be going back to read those later). This book destroyed me in so many ways. Poor Jade what she goes through at the Hands of the people she thought loved and cared for her is disturbing and brutal. No matter how many times she is beaten down she gets back up. When she has enough she breaks and it is amazing, sweet, sweet revenge. Her men are just amazing and will go above and beyond to protect her even if she doesn't agree with how they go about. It's Gut wrenching, Heartbreaking, traumatising, intense, emotional and beautiful all at the same time. Being a woman this hit pretty close to home. This does contain domestic violence, rape and drug use and is graphically detailed. Please prepare yourself before you dive in. As much as it broke me. It was worth every gut wrenching emotion.
First I have to say, if you have children get a babysitter, because this is a cereal for dinner, neglect your kids, can't put down read!! Wow, just wow. I was so excited to get Jade's story and did not expect to have my heart ripped from my chest. I cried so much but I also laughed, I also got angry. So many emotions. Phenomenal R.e bond tends to blow me away every time. Can't wait for whatever is next from her twisted, amazing mind.
I thought it was great. You really understand why she was angry and acting out. My heart hurt for her and the crappy things she had to suffer through, I was glad that she finally women up'd and took charge. You get why everyone is the way they are. I was upset that she had to push Skeet over the edge and he retaliated the way he did. But I know Rory wouldn't have been able to teach her the same lesson that way.. I'm so glad she was able to reconnect with her friends through it and that Rory and Jade end up closer than ever, and that Jade finds comfort in her men. This series is intense, dark and amazing.
Such an emotional read. And when you read the Author Note at the end your heart will break all over again. Hugs xx
If you’ve been following along, Perfectly Jaded is Book 5 of the series. You know we’ve met Jade before but this time she’s front and center.
Jade, like so many in her place, is living with a secret. Her boyfriend, her lover, the person who is supposed to protect her is her abuser. One day he takes things too far and leaves her to deal with it on her own. What he didn’t expect and probably Jade didn’t either was that through the hurt and pain she was left in friendships flourished. Jade is no longer alone and has her people now. Everyone needs people.
Alex and Harley. If these two don’t make you want to rip your hair out and also cuddle them at the same time I don’t know who will. But they do a great job of helping our girl get past her demons.
As always we get an exciting storyline, loads of emotion, tons of action, introduction of new characters and crews and of course Rory and her boys pop up.
Up next is Lexi’s story and I can’t wait. Each book has been a phenomenal read and just when you think it can’t get any better it does!
I remember reading Rory’s books and being intrigued by Alex and Harley, and wondering about Jade’s past with them. When I found out Jade, Harley and Alex were getting their own book I jumped at the opportunity to read and review an early copy.
Being thrown back into this world is all-consuming. Like the previous books in this series, there is a ton going on in Perfectly Jaded and the action does not stop. This is the type of book you cannot put down. There is no reasonable resting point or stopping point- you MUST keep reading because you MUST know what happens next or else you’ll explode!
Jade is a fighter and never loses her fire, despite the horrific trauma she has faced. Jade goes through hell and back has to fight hard for her happy ending, but she gets there with Alex and Harley supporting her, along with some unexpected allies.
I absolutely love this world that RE Bond has created and look forward to reading more in Lexi’s book!
What a wild ride this author takes us on ! I was literally on the edge of my seat biting my nails from beginning till end ! The emotions the pain the twists and turns the curve balls thrown this story was just sooo good ! I didn’t care for Jade in the previous books but she definitely won me over in her story my heart absolutely broke for her I felt her loneliness all the emotions she felt I felt it so hard she was so misunderstood . Jade’s story is dark it’s twisted it’s full of so much pain she comes from a world of violence where she’s fighting to survive every day. This story is raw it’s real hang on tight your in for a ride!
Perfectly Jadedwhile being a standalone is still apart of theWatch Me Burnseries. The story maybe told through multiple POVs consisting of Jade Winters, Harley Bates and Alex Crossin. But it still interconnects with Rory and her guys, with them making appearances throughout, since the story takes place in the same world throughout.
With Jade, Harley and Alex having first been introduced in the previous books throughout the series. We are finally able to dive into their story inPerfectly Jadedwith learning about them, their past and their current present life. All of which takes you on a super wild rollercoaster ride that brings suspense, mystery, angst, drama and SPICY STEAM! If you thought Rory’s story was crazy, then you have seen nothing yet! R.E. Bond upped the ante when it came to breathing life into Jade, Harley and Alex’s story because it was definitely unbelievable shocking. Not only from what takes place within the story, but what they all have to deal with and the level of growth that occurs from each of them, especially when it came to Jade. What Rory endured and went through looked like a walk in the park, compared to what Jade came across and suffered throughout the story. A lot of which led to heartbreak, heartache, sadness and pain resulting in a whole heap of angst. But the fact that she didn’t let it beat her and instead continued on to pick herself up time and time again proved she was a fighting warrior. For which I had to give her props for, since she could’ve just stayed down and let the aguish swallow her whole. So BUCKLE UP, because you are not ready for the emotional rollercoaster adventure ride that isPerfectly Jaded! It will hit you like a ton of bricks, considering all the emotions and feelings that come pouring out like a waterfall throughout the story on top of the chaos that ensues.
I may get hate for this but I am #TEAMHARLEY all the way! I’m sorry but I hated Alex a majority of the time, sure he was there for Jade and helped her which was sweet and kind. But the fact that he had the audacity to give Harley crap for not being there for Jade when she needed someone, knowing fully well he was the reason behind Harley knowing anything to be there for her. Despite being well informed when it came to Harley's true feelings for Jade and that he would do anything for her if he knew the truth. Something Alex choose to hide because of his own insecurity of being afraid Jade would rather choose Harley over him. IMO he was an insecure, selfish and jealous prick with screwing Harley over by betraying him, just so he could have Jade to himself. Which is why I couldn't stand Alex, seriously who screws their own brother over like that?! Honestly Alex pissed me off to no end, especially with what he did at the end, which is why IMO he didn’t deserve Jade. #SorryNotSorry
All in all, R.E. Bond did another great job bringing yet another story to life withPerfectly Jaded. She definitely put her heart and soul into this story, which made it feel all the more real and authentic. I would recommend checking it out! Especially if you have read the previous books from the series and was curious about Jade, Harley and Alex from the glimpses shown.
*I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Jade had a traumatic childhood at the hands of her father, the only time she felt safe was with Alex and Harley, when she disclosed what happened to her as a child, Harley and Alex took matters into there own hands, irrevocably changing them forever. Jade finds herself in the path of Alex and Harley once again because of Stevo, her boyfriend, but everything is not sunshine and rainbows when they find out the trauma that she’s had inflicted on her, to her and by other people because of her association with Stevo, but Jade has had enough of playing the victim and gives Stevo what he deserves. Alex and Harley are very concerned but turned on at the same time due to Aurora’s influence rubbing off on her, and this is a good thing, because there friendship is being repaired and are learning to trust each other again. Jade has also developed relationships with Marco and Diesel much to the Alex and Harleys displeasure but they’ll have to get over it. In all of this they have to contend with The Reaper’s of Chaos aka Archer and The Shadow Kings aka Rage and when truths emerge, and long held secrets are exposed, loyalties are divided, and decisions and choices are made, everyone is going to have an opinion and clash regardless but when they unite together they are stronger than ever. And when Harley and Alex admit to Jade that they love her and she loves them, it was bittersweet. This book has heavy triggers and may not be for you This book has it all dark romance, bro-mancing , murder, madness, mayhem, revenge, vengeance, violence, adrenaline seeking suspense, possessiveness, jealousy, twists, turns, truths and betrayal. This story is told from multiple POV , it will take you on a wild ride, having you turn page after page. This book had me from beginning to end. The author definitely knows how to write and I’ll be coming back for more. And those s*x scenes were steamy, had all the angry angst, hate, jealousy, possessiveness, dominance and passion one would expect when two guys are fighting for the love of the same girl. But they all work together in there own way , because nothing will become between them and Jade. She loves them and they love her, regardless of there differences, because they are all in this together, because family is everything and they will need there family now more than ever when they face off against The Reapers of Chaos and The Shadow Kings!
O.M.G!! My mind is blown. I totally and absolutely love the entire Watch Me Burn Series and loved reading about Rory and her guys and now getting Jade’s story…absolutely loved Perfectly Jaded. I love the integration of the Watch Me Burn 🔥 Series!! I definitely can’t wait for Don’t Fear the Reaper to get Lexi’s story and will have my finger crossed 🤞🏽 to get to see Rory, her guys, Jade, and her guys as I feel like their story is a little incomplete!! Things are definitely heating up with all the crews!! I understand why authors use cliffhangers but I hate the really big once especially when you are hanging on by the seat of your pants wanting to know what happened which happened in all of Rory’s story. Perfectly Jaded was not so bad. R.E. Bond did a fantastic job with with Perfectly Jaded and the Watch Me Burn 🔥 Series!! Her creativity with her creation of her well rounded and developed characters and their history which give them added depth. Then there is the world 🗺 they inhabit. The Watch Me Burn world 🗺 is one that is the perfect setting for the stories surrounding them. Combine all of that with the twists, turns, things going sideways, surprises, ups, downs, secrets revelations, emotions and all of the heat 🔥🌡 makes Perfectly Jaded a book that you can’t just put down and makes you feel a little “book drunk” I think it’s called…that feeling that you can’t return (more importantly don’t want to return) to the “real” world 🌍 and then there is how your mind is filled with so many thoughts and feeling about what you just read and you want so much more cause you don’t want to let the characters go. Then add in the fact while reading you (readers) laughed, cried, got mad at some of the characters, frustrated with wanting to know what is coming up, and so much more making Perfectly Jaded a easy by far 5 ⭐️ read!! I would go so far as to say a perfect 💯!! Which makes it no surprise that I highly recommend Perfectly Jaded, the Watch Me Burn 🔥 Series and R.E. Bond as an author to watch!! I will be checking out more books by R.E. Bond especially the ones co-written with C.A. Rene as she is one of my favorite authors and between her and R.E. you will end up with an unforgettable story! Enjoy reading Perfectly Jaded!!
Perfectly Jaded is easily one of my top reads of this year. We met Jade, Alex, and Harley in the previous books in this series. This is the 5th book of the series and while we do get to see Rory and her guys, this book focuses on Jade, Alex, and Harley. There are trigger warnings for this book so please be aware of those before starting. Jade was an iffy character for me. I loved her when we first met her, but as the series progressed I was on the fence with her. RE Bond was able to bring me completely to Jade’s side with this book and make me love her almost as much as Rory! I always loved Alex and Harley, but Rach just deepened my love for them as well. Jade doesn’t have an easy life. Some of it is her fault, but a lot isn’t. This book is not a walk in the park on a sunny day. It is raw, rough, and real. The emotional roller coaster I was on with this book had me all over the place. I would be laughing and then crying on the next page. We get to learn about the history between all three of the characters that goes back to their childhoods. The growth with each of them is unbelievable! To see where each of them started and where it ends up is just part of the journey. The relationships Jade builds with not just Alex and Harley, but with the other members of the crews and Rory and Lexi shows how far Jade has come. It was refreshing to see Rory and her guys from an outside point of view as well. But those views do not detract from Jade’s story at all. They just enhance it. Watching Jade come into her own and take control of her life filled me with a sense of pride! It felt like Jade was real to me! I cannot recommend this series enough! Now that we are moving from the focus being off Rory and her guys I wasn’t sure if I would still be as invested. But Rach has managed to get me even more invested! Her talent as an author continues to astound and mesmerize me. I can’t wait to see what journey Lexi takes us on as her book is next!
Perfectly Jaded is book five in R.E. Bond's Watch Me Burn series but is the third book I have read and reviewed for this incredibly talented author.
This review is probably the hardest that I have had to write as this is the first book that actually triggered my one and only trigger..... demestic violence.
RE Bond is beyond words incredibly talented. She has the ability to make you go "WTF" while you continue to read the book and then you will want to keep reading even more. I knew that this was going to be another of those books but when I started reading I had no idea what I was fully getting into. Perfectly Jaded is the story of Jade, who I have a deep connection to and understanding after reading her story.
This is a story that is going to make you angry, make you hurt, make you want to punch something but also shows you how much a family ( even if not blood) bond can be unbreakable, how a true friendship is unstoppable, and how true love will concur all. This story shows you the tests this family, these friends, and the couples will go through, testing the bonds they have, testing loyalty and so much more.
R.E. Bond's books are not for the shallow hearts. They are dark, messed up, and full of triggers. You have to have a open mind and open heart to read them and they are so worth all of it.
Go get this book! This series is highly recommend to be read in order, i do not suggest at all they be read as standalones.
A huge shout out to R.E. Bond and what she wrote in the acknowledgments, demestic violence needs to be made more aware of, it is something most people do not fully understand the impact it has on a person until you live it. I, along with many others have lived it. If you can get help, and if you are dealing with it know that I am here to listen and help ♡
Perfectly Jaded by @author.re.bond Book 5 in the Watch Me Burn series …………… “I wanted her, but she was the one woman I could never have. Harley would never forgive me if I tried.” …………….. Wow. I have so many things to say about this book! This is book 5 in the series so I don’t want to spoil it for anyone but damn, this one was just as crazy, if not more than the first 4. This book focused on Jade, Alex and Harley. The first 4 books are about Rory and her guys, but luckily they are included in this book as well. …………. “I was in trouble of falling, I just had to hope he kept his promise about catching me.” ………….. OK let’s get real for a moment… read the triggers on this one because they are real AF. This book is heavily involved in domestic violence. Jade is in an awful relationship and it was hard to stomach some of the things she went through. That being said, @author.re.bond did a great job with how she wrote the scenes and really gave you perspective of someone who is involved in domestic violence. This book is MFM and her guys were two sides of the same coin. Alex is sweet and caring while she is still going through all her BS, Harley doesn’t know how to act and I struggled with him a lot because he would scare Jade without meaning to. ……………. “Use me like a bouncy house, go crazy,” …………… @author.re.bond always brings the steam! I was happy there was a lot of interaction with Rory and her guys and new relationships were created. There is a lot of new storyline with the crews that comes in to this book and secrets are revealed that sets it up for Lexi’s book, and that girl is going to be interesting! If you are looking for fast paced and crazy, this series is for you!
If you are ready to get back into Rory’s world of psycho’s and reapers, raise your hand 🙋♀️. This time around, Rory is in the background (as much as her dominating personality can be) lol and we are focusing on Jade. Rory’s BFF who went rogue in the previous books.
Jade is a woman who is extremely “lost.” She has pushed everyone away accept for Lexi and her a**hat boyfriend, Steve. Jade is in an abusive relationship with Steve and no one knows. So many times I wanted to climb into the book and shake some sense into Jade. The trauma she suffers is unreal (know there are triggers for domestic abuse, rape, sexual assault, gang violence, drugs in this book). When Alex finds her after a particularly bad one, Jade finally has someone on her side that she can turn to. That part was particularly touching to me. The demons that Jade has to fight calls for her to have many strong allies that she can lean on for strength.
I loved seeing Jade’s struggle back and how she is fighting for her strength to do what she needs to do. And it was (as odd a word I could choose for this book lol) heartwarming to see who gets in her corner.
One of my favorite things was seeing the friendship between Jade and Marco form and how much he comes to care, protect, and build her up (in a sibling way). Jade really has not had much of people willing to fight for her, so for her to finally get it made me swoon.
The amount of action in this book is crazy. It was a heck of a ride from beginning to end. I gasped in shock with a few scenes. All I can leave with is, get ready, buckle up, and enjoy the ride. And I’m already ready for book 6!
Perfectly Jaded by R.E. Bond is a dark MFM romance. This is the fifth book in the Watch Me Burn series.
The book does come with some serious TRIGGER WARNINGS! In this book you will find detailed domestic violence and rape scenes (which are not caused by her men). Please do not read if you are triggered by these.
I cannot tell you how much I love and adore this series! Rach has a brilliant mind who sucks you in from the very first page and won’t spit you out til the very last. If your read my other reviews you would know Rach is one of my favourite one-click authors and I can’t get enough of this series, I swear they keep getting better and better! Like what Rach said in her acknowledgment section, I couldn’t connect properly with her character and always trying to guess why she was doing that in Rorys part of the story! I’m so glad Rach wrote Jades story because I can finally connect with her and understand her, The characters growth in this story was huge and although this story was a hard one to read with lots of truths in it I’m so glad that not only Jade found her family but they all found peace and love within each other. Their relationship was a hella of a roller coaster but you still couldn’t help but root for them. I love love loved having all three of their points of views in through out this book!
I seriously can’t wait for October to get the next book in the series - Don't Fear The Reaper, which is Lexi’s book 😍
Jade the beginning, middle and the start of an ending 😉
Jades story! The beauty about book 5 is you don’t need to read the first four books of Rorys story to read this but I have to say it be a damn shame if you didn’t start off with book 1 with Rory because she has 9 boyfriends. 9!!!! Lol
Ok I’m a huge fan of this series and the author is the best. I’ve read this series three times waiting for book 6 with Lexi baby! Which I can’t frigging wait. Il be attacking that boy as soon as I press enter on this review lol
R.E Bond brought sex, guns and violence to a whole new level with some hot steamy scenes You need to start with book 1 trust me you won’t be disappointed It works for Rory having that many men. I’m not jealous honest and Jade is in them too so you learn a little of Jades character and then you can get an understanding for this book
You can finally understand what Rory sees in Jade Aswell and how their relationship came together and I gotta admit the girls are making the boys turn to pussys and the girls becoming some badass bitches lol
There’s always gonna be wars with the gangs, turf wars etc rivals wanting to prove they are the strongest and meanest with egos thinking they hold more power
I feel this book is an important one too as it’s gonna help you understand book 6 with Lexi and what is going on and who is who etc
My favourite series and one of my favourite Authors too.
Perfectly Jaded is the fifth book in the Watch Me Burn series and is an MFM dark romance focused on Jade, who we met in Rory's story.
Whenever I read an R.E. Bond book I just know some crazy sh!t is going to go down, and this was no exception!
Jade's had a seriously traumatic life and is hiding the fact that her boyfriend abuses her. However when he takes it too far she soon finds herself back in the middle of crew business (and Harley & Alex😏) I absolutely loved Jade, she is such a relatable character for so many and my heart literally broke for her at times. But she is a survivor and when she finally realised she deserved better and was a bada$$ in her own way, it was beautiful to read.
Harley and Alex are best friends and like to share. But they've got a rough history with Jade and its not going to be easy for her to trust them. And when secrets come to light things go from bad to worse.
I absolutely loved the storyline of this book! It's all about surviving abuse and drug addiction and the way that it's written is so freaking real.
The plot is fast paced and there's plenty of action and gore and the spicy scenes were also pretty hot.
Rory and her guys are also in this book and I forgot just how much I love that little psycho! The scene at the docks with the grenade had me in stitches!
This book was freaking amazing and I'm really looking forward to the next installment of the series
