They come to me. They beg and plead for a taste of my power. My brothers and I rule the pack, crushing all challengers and scaring the rest into submission.
We’re the nightmares that wake you up screaming, the devils you crave.
We have everything, so we want for nothing.
Until she came along.
From the first moment I laid eyes on her, I knew she was mine….ours.
We took her swiftly in the middle of the night, stealing her out from under her fated mate’s clutches.
She was only meant to be a play thing, a passing fancy.
So why do I find myself watching her as she sleeps, protecting her… falling for her?
I'm a wife, mother, and author! Writing has always been a passion for me, and publishing my first series is a dream come true. I drink too much caffeine, never sleep, and my imagination is always churning out ideas. Eva and her men have been in my head for awhile, and I'm so glad to finally take you with me on this journey!
Traitorous body and not 5 sentences or so later, traitorous body again. Her legs betrayed her y'all. Just opened up, apparently. I was so done with this mess of a story at 87% but figured I'll power through just for the book count.
Lucky for me this story ended at 89% on a cliffhanger. Lol. The remaining pages is intro to another story. I guess I can say I'm lucky in this case because although this started off interesting, it devolved as it progressed. I got whiplash from the h's emotions and there's no rhyme nor reason for the feelings that the h and Hs have for each other. Nada. I'm all for this Kingdom of Wolves and Reject Island universe/series, but aside from M. Sinclair's Silver Falls University, this one, similar to Alpha's Claim, was a waste of time.
My biggest complaint is that there is no warning that this is not a stand alone like the rest of the Reject Island books. It ends with a cliffhanger and the next book isn’t out till May 2022. I don’t mind cliffhangers - but you should let readers know this in the description of the book before readers download. Because I loved all the other Reject Island books, I didn’t even read reviews on this one so I had no clue it wasn’t a standalone. About halfway through the book, I started to get frustrated feeling like there is no way this story can be completed without rushing things at end. It ended up ruining the latter half of the book for me. I don’t know yet if I’ll even bother reading the next book. This coming from someone who doesn’t mind cliffhangers and series books - I just like having faith in my authors to warn me so I can decide if I read the book now or wait till all the books are released.
If you read review and are okay with the cliffhanger and waiting a while for the conclusion: this is still my least favorite of the reject island books. Again, I have no idea if I’ll continue reading the story. The FMC had no real draw to her other than being beautiful. She wasn’t engaging, witty, funny, badass or anything. Just a pretty face. I always feel bad leaving bad reviews but this book really fell short for me.
"Nooooooo!!!!!!" she wails into the night like a dying banshee. "You can't leave me there!" The book can’t be over already. Despite all evidence to the contrary, I refuse to believe it. Syn is a fascinating mix of fierce and vulnerable. And her alphas are just as compelling, even if aspects of their personalities left me twitchy and uncomfortable at times. (Not entirely their faults, it was more a matter of me facing off with my own demons.) Now that I’ve started to get to know these characters, I’m desperate to find out how the rest of their story will turn out. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.
Amazing book. Sub is the perfect mix between sweet inocence and cheecky. Her pack doesn't deserve her. They are all major bad guys. Lucky her Hendrix and his brothers like to take what they whant and that is her. They kidnapp her very cave man like but that is her luck. They think that they Will only play with the nice Litlle girl but, oh Boy were they wrong. Very good book
I've been trying to force myself to write more reviews. Mainly so, when I come across a book I can't remember reading my review will remind me.
The FMC is treated horribly by her pack and has literal and figurative scars from her past. Her fated mate rejects her and she basically becomes the pack slave. Until a giant Alpha walks into the picture I believe a guided cage where no one harms you would seem, at first, like paradise to any slave. That's why the FMC's character came across as odd to me.
The story is okay so far and ended on a cliffhanger, we haven't really gotten to know all the Alphas very well yet even with them having their own POV chapters. I guess I'll decide how I really feel about this story after book 2, assuming I read it.
They’ve done it again! CR Jane and Mila Young have teamed up to spin a stunning first book in the Alpha-Hole duet, part of the Reject Island series. Absolutely hooked from the very beginning, this book delivers a very heavy plot-line of a young woman who was taken from her pack. A pack that had rejected her and basically treated her like she was gum at the bottom of their shoe. Immediately taken away by Hendrix, leader of the Khan pack, Syn is thrusted into the life of luxury with amazing food and fills her days getting to know Hendrix and his brothers Caspian and River. Syn is a wonderful mix of feisty yet innocent. Hendrix and his brothers are true wolf alphas. But there’s so much more to them, there’s darkness and mystery that shroud them. So much drama happens and it was an absolute page turner. I’m anxious for book 2!
There’s a difference between like a cliffhanger and just cutting off the story halfway through. It was very disappointing when it just literally ended. The storyline overall was okay but it just lacked something
As if losing her family wasn’t enough, Emersyn is rejected by her fated mate after giving him her v-card. She’s also the pack slave and is just tired of her life. When Hendrix takes her as collateral, she can only hope for a better life than what she had. Meeting his brothers gives her a glimmer of hope. Caspian is sweet and always around her. River on the other hand doesn’t want her there.. or so she thinks. They say she’s only their plaything but could there be more?
Wow! I am so sad it ended on a cliffhanger but I can’t wait to read the next one!! Syn deserved so much better than how her pack was treating her. I hope the guys actually make them suffer, lol. These brothers are WOW. River starts out as such a dick but turns into such a sweetheart. Caspian is so sweet and caring, he adores the crap out of Syn and it’s beautiful. Hendrix somehow started so sweet and at the end of this book, I wasn’t so sure I liked him anymore. Can’t wait to see how this ends!
Ooh I loved this book. Syn has known nothing but heartbreak and I'll treatment her entire life. When she is sold off to pay debts she Hope's her life will be better. Things in her new home are not what they appear to be. She had a whole new set of problems and three very powerful males to deal with. Great plot and some steamy scenes. Great first book in this series.
Emersyn "Syn" has survived a tragic and miserable life. Not only that, the alpha's son has rejected her as his mate and is now his "toy". She is often mistreated and often looked down on. Hendrix, Alpha from an another, powerful pack, spotted her and wanted her for himself. He ended up taking her as a fulfilled debt. Now that she she's out of her former mate's grasp, how will she handle three new guys lusting over her?
This is the second book in Reject Island series and my first time reading the series. This book is apart of a duet and I am so happy because that cliffy definitely left me hanging. I am a huge fan of rejected mates and this definitely hit the spot. I really loved how strong-willed and sassy the FMC was. The three guys had a huge personality clash and I love that so much in a RH book. Can't wait to for the next one.
Here's the thing about RH that pretty much is A constant to make it work . 1. They are all working together for the girl. 2. She knows her worth and demands it from her group. 3. They are faithful None of those three points are met . NONE. She is weak ,they are who#e boys. They have woman lounging around naked ,making out with each other and they are having sex out in the open with these women while she is witness to it. I find nothing more degrading ( even if its a kink its not mine) where the writer changes a RH and makes the girl get " turned on" watching her supposed RH bang one out with a another who#e. If I swung that way I would have chosen said books. But I don't like em . So this is a no again for me and not worth my aggravated headache and on top of all that its a cliffy. 😖
This is horrible. I’m sick of books that don’t let you know before you start that they are going to drag it out forever. Should have realized they were responsible for the wild girl series which is a never ending story too.
I love a book with a good rejected mates trope storyline. This book has that. The female main character and the 3 alpha love interests are all broken in some way. Good depth of character and story. Cliffhanger was well done.
DNF at 59%. Was into it until I suddenly wasn’t. Maybe because after Hendrix helped Syn escape from her abusive pack, nothing really happened? A lot of the last 50 pages was her moaning over how good the food she was eating….
The Rejected Island series is composed of books from multiple authors all set within the same world. Real Alphas Bite is C.R. Jane's and Mila Young's contribution to the series. It's a multiple-perspective rejected mate story that is filled with powerful, growly alphas, three brothers to be exact, and the she-wolf who gets under their skin.
Characters: Emersyn "Syn" Landry has survived a tragic childhood only to endure an even more tragic adulthood. She's at the bottom of the pack and the alpha's son has rejected her as his mate. Syn suffers daily because of the mistreatment of the pack but she's holding on. Because she's been so restricted in her life when she finally gets a chance to leave the packs and see the world she savors it. However she was taken by the alphas so doesn't take things at face value and isn't only swooning at the Alphas, she questions a lot but there is most definitely a connection between her and the brothers.
Hendrix is the one that took her and that man likes control and *dom* he's very controlling (too bad Syn is up for controlling) which is understandable considering his and his brothers' traumatic background. Caspian is one of Hendrix's brothers, he's lighter of the three but still has a darkness to him, he's playful with Syn, and finally, there's River who has a temper but doesn't turn it on Syn. All three alphas are dark and have some special ability that makes them feared which is a good thing considering they are arms dealers. These are some big scary guys and make no mistake they aren't the good guys but they do treat those who work for them, right, even if they don't treat women the best,, and all three somehow manage to fall instantly for Syn.
The Plot
The story had a good pace and kept my interest. I loved when Syn first left her old pack lands and all that opulence that's described was fantastic and I loved seeing everything freshly through Syns eyes. And after seeing the money the alphas' have and knowing that they're arms dealers adds a bit of danger to the story but I would've loved to know a little more about their business and about what happened in their past. Exactly how did they get their powers? What's the full story?
Towards the end, a lot of drama happened with Syn which has me questioning what was her old pack up to? On the upside, it seems like while the guys can't quite admit how deeply they feel for Syn it becomes apparent that they care for her deeply.
This book was so good that I planned on checking out some of the other books in this series. Real Alphas Bite ended in a cliffhanger so I'm excited to see what happens next. Plus since Mila's and C.R.'s contribution to the series is a duology, Syn's story will be wrapping up in the next book, Real Alphas Mate and because of that title alone, I'm so there for it.
Real Alphas Bite, a rejected mate romance that takes place in the Reject Island series, is an amazing read that captures your attention right from the start and pulls you in. CR Jane and Mila Young did a phenomenal job of creating characters that captivate you and a world that’s intriguing.
The story starts off with a traumatic introduction to our brave and resilient FMC Emersyn as a young girl enduring the unthinkable and losing all that she holds dear and then flash forwards to today where she is still mistreated and abused due to her status of a rejected mate to the alphas son. Forced to live within a pack that despises her and does anything to make her life miserable, she is unable to escape as she is essentially trapped with magical brackets that prohibit her from shifting. Thinking she’ll be trapped forever under the evil persuasion of her rejected mate, fate finally steps in and allows her an escape in the form of a possessive and domineering Alpha from an another more powerful pack, named Hendrix, and he takes her as a debt fulfilled.
When Hendrix takes her back to his home, she’s quickly introduced to both his equally possessive and darkly intriguing alpha brothers, Caspian and River—all three who happen to not only be hot as hell but utterly captivated by the magic that is Syn and their immediate attraction/connections is off the charts! I loved how the alphas ached to possess Syn, and how she finally succumbed to being claimed as well. Of course just as things are finally coming together for Syn…a dark magical force steps in and once again tries to wreck havoc in her life leaving her men scrambling for a solution. Will they be able to use their own dark and dangerous forces and connections to fight back and keep her or is all lost?!?
Overall this is definite must read if you’re a fan of dark rejected mates RH romance stories full of tragedy, heartbreak, mysteries, magic, suspense, lies and hidden truths. And while yes, this book does end on a cliffhanger…it’s a definite must read and SO worth it!!! Book 2 can’t come quick enough as I NEED to know the truth of who Syn really is and what magical evil force is after her.
Emersyn has lived her life in grief and fear. First her father commits a horrible crime and kills her family. Syn barely made it out alive from a fire. Then her fated mate rejects her, but keeps her around as a slave with a magical band that prevents her from shifting. Torture on every level. Yet when the monstrous Alpha Hendrix takes Syn away from her pack as part of a deal, she may have jumped from the cooking pot into the very fires of Hell itself.
This is an action-packed and tension filled first book in this dark reverse harem paranormal romance series. When I say dark, I mean it. Syn's past is horrendous, and how she was treated by her pack was awful. Yet somehow she manages to find the strength to carry on. When Hendrix takes her away to his island home, it looks like paradise. A big beautiful manor with a gorgeous island and beach. There are ugly things still happening on the island. Hendrix, Caspian, and River can be frightening, and they've lived through nightmares themselves, but there remains something in their hearts that does care. The heat between Syn and the guys is blazing! Do be prepared that it ends with a major cliff hanger, but there are plenty of books by these amazing authors to keep you busy while you wait for the next installment.
Rejected by her fated mate Brayden, Syn is reduced to the pack slave. She’s been an outcast since her father went on a murderous rampage that left her family dead. She was also horribly burned left with scars inside and out from that horrible day. Hendrix is an Alpha from a major pack and comes to visit her packs Alpha for he owes him a debt. Once Hendrix sets eyes on Syn he must have her and sets a plan in motion. When Syn is given to Hendrix along with the debt owed she doesn’t know what to do. Does she stay with the abusive pack that she knows or leave with the handsome devil she finds herself extremely attracted to?
They travel to his island compound where she meets his two brothers and it’s an island paradise. But her past will come to haunt her because when Brayden rejected her they bound her wrists with bands that kept her from shifting. They are cursed and are slowly killing her. Hendrix and his brothers River and Caspian must scramble to find a witch in time to save her life.
This was action packed from the start and it took me on a rollercoaster ride of emotions! I can’t wait to read the next book in this duet.
I need more asap! What is happening? LOL. This book had me on the edge of my seat and I am so ready for book two!
Syn is a wolf of wonder. I feel like theirs so much more to her than we get in this book. She was rejected by her mate and forced to live as a slave. When Hendricks comes to collect from her pack, he didnt expect to be intrigued by the timid girl with dark red hair. So, when a deal is struck, Syn is now the property of Hendricks. Only he is constantly giving her mixed feelings and wants her happy one minute and keeping her prisoner the next.
Add in Caspian and River....I'm unsure how this story will all play out. They all have this immediate pull to eachother. And whats more, even Hendricks has rejected his fated mate which only adds to the mystery.
This book left me wanting so much more and I need answers! What is actually happening! lol. I enjoyed this book a lot and it ended way too soon. I cant wait for book 2.
*Overall 4/5 *Heat? 2/5 *Med/Slow Burn 61% *Ends on cliffhanger
Hendrix went to send a message. He and his brothers Caspian and River are not to be messed with. There is no bargaining. If you owe money, you pay or you REALLY pay. This time, however, he left with more. He tried to convince himself she would be a fun toy but he knew, she belonged to him. So did his brothers.
What a fantastic story. Two releases by this writing duo this week, two addictively entertaining reads. Syn is such a likable character. Just the right amount of sass, the right amount of brokenness. The Alphas were all delicious. Dangerous, sexy, intelligent, and the way each was caught off guard from the moment they met Syn made the chemistry even better. I haven't even been able to pick a favorite yet which is unusual for me but I enjoy them all. I am truly looking forward to more from the island.
I got totally sucked in by the end and suddenly there was no more book, that cliffie! I have questions.
A solid 4 star read. I think we could have got to know the characters a bit better especially as it's a duet and there's a lot of story, relationship stuff and character interactions that I would like to see in book two to give it more depth for that five star read.
Syn hasn't had much go right for her since childhood, I mean the kidnapping is a plus for her. But how could it not be kidnapped by hot shifters, yes please. There are some bumps along the way but the budding relationship with Caspian, River and Hendrix is moving along nicely. Hendrix is definitely my fave but we didn't get much River POV, so I'm hoping we see more of him in book two.
Emersyn (aka Syn) has pretty much been a slave for years and was rejected by her fated mate (although he is a jerk, so she dodged that one). When Hendrix arrives to enforce some issues with the Alpha, he is immediately intrigued and obsessed with her. He strikes a deal and semi-kidnaps her to his compound where his brothers, Caspian and River are equally obsessed and intrigued by her. At first, I really liked Hendrix, although towards the end he became much more alphahole, and I just wanted to shake him. I really liked River and Caspian, although they both have their own moments too. I loved Syn - she is sweet, but also has some sass and hasn’t let everything in her life take her down. This does end with a big twist at the end, but thankfully book 2 is out in just a couple weeks ;-)
(Emersyn) Syn has a had a hard life in this book what with being rejected by her fated mate and then treated as worthless in her own pack. The final straw being her taken by Alpha Hendrix. Only things are not exactly rosy in his pack. Syn ends up in a three way struggle withe Hendrix and his brothers - Caspian & River. What that does do though is open up Syn's personality i think. Her sassiness comes outs in relation to the guys as they become more possessive towards her. Omg that cliffhanger ending was just knockout!! Ill be on tenterhooks until the next book now. This first one was flaming good.
Another amazing book from these two ladies that will draw you in, tug on your heart, turn up the heat, and then they drop you off the cliff at the end while laughing!!!! I absolutely loved it, and I need more please..... Syn comes from a bad pack, and just wants to matter to someone, anyone. The Alphas of the Khan pack are many things but showing feelings is not one of them. I absolutely loved this book and I can't wait to what happens next
This is a strong read! A lot like our female mc Syn who despite constant rejection is strong and resilient and refuses to back down. She finds herself bartered d sent to reject island where she meets three alphas River, Caspien and Hendrix. It’s a tough rejected mate story that’s exciting and entertaining.
Holy hell I LOVED this book. This book is so good, I couldn't put it down. The multiple points of view work really well. So much suspense so much more I’m actually lost for words.. Get this book it was amazing one problem was bloody epic cliffhanger
Another great addition to the Reject Island universe. I love the different spins that each author has created thus far. Book 1 by this author duo is no different and I’m so happy it was made into a duet. This was a great introduction to the characters and story and the cliffhanger had you wanting to know even more.
The book has a few different tropes so there is something for everyone. I thought it was going to be a simple shifter romance but the authors added an extra bit of mystery and tidbits to amp up the drama and intrigue. The book ended suddenly and I can’t wait to know what’s in store for book 2.
