I won this book in a Goodreads giveaway. So far, I absolutely love it!! It is the best free/giveaway book I’ve gotten so far. The alignment of the text with the translation makes it really easy to read the story without having to stop and look words up. This shouldn’t be a radical concept, but I’ve studied French since high school, and this was the first time I felt like I could just read a story easily and with confidence. Sure, it’s an easy fairytale that I know, but it’s still a great way to feel like I’m just reading along and learning as I go, instead of spending most of my time looking things up and figuring out conjugations and grammar. I hope they make a lot more books like this, and I’m going to look for similar books in other languages.

This book is an excellent book for those of us who want to brush up on French via the written word. Having taken 6 years of French in school and having lived in Ontario Canada waaaaay back in the 80s I can understand the spoken word better than I could read it. So this was a big help.

Helps with the progress if your learning and great you can listen to translation of words you are not sure if pronunciation

Positives:
Some of the fairytales were classics like Snow White and The Three Bears.
The translations are underneath the writing which means you can quickly check what unknown words mean.

Negatives:
The tales are translations from other texts, so they aren't original to this book.
