While visiting an estate sale to pick up new items for Missing Pieces, Aly gets hit with a surprise: the elderly homeowner didn't have a heart attack--she was murdered. Aly's got the evidence in her hands, and the killer is offering to sell it to her. Time to make a deal, then call the police.
If only anyone believed her. Miriam Peabody was in her 70s and appeared to die of natural causes. Police found no evidence of foul play, but Aly knows what she saw. Worse, she’s pretty sure the killer has powers of their own. As she seeks evidence to support her vision, someone is watching Aly’s every move. They’re always one step ahead. She needs to find concrete evidence to give the police before someone Miriam trusted gets away with murder.
Ada Bell knew you'd be reading this. Okay, well, she knew someone would be. (Hi, Mom!) That's pretty much the extent of her psychic powers. A life-long mystery buff, Ada has devoured everything from Murder, She Wrote to Nancy Drew to Psych!, so she was pretty much destined to end up here. Ada loves Scooby Doo, superhero movies, STEM heroines, and cake. Mmm, cake.
Sight Seering (Shady Grove Pyschic Mystery #3) by Ada Bell The fun psychic adventures continue but this time the murder mystery is a real doozy! I really liked this one. Great mystery, touch of romance, great characters, clean, and just enough psychic powers to be fun! Can't wait for the fourth book to be on sale on Chirp! Great narration!
I received a free copy from the author and voluntarily reviewed it.
After enjoying the first 2 books in this series, I excitedly dived into book 3. I have to say the start of this one didn't really grip me, but the further I got the better this book got. There's a new mystery as well as the overarching mystery about who killed her brother's wife also continued. There are some interesting twists and turns and I liked seeing how Aly tried to solve these mysteries.
The new mystery in this one didn't grip me at first. It seemed very obvious, even though I suspected there might be a twist later on. And then the main character investigated in a direction that didn't seem worth it. A big part of the book takes place on the same day and that also made it feel a bit rushed because of the time pressure they're under. For a while I just wasn't enjoying this one as much, but slowly it got better.
During a break in the investigation Aly focuses on the ongoing mystery about who killed her brother's wife and there are some big developments. I really liked reading about that and finding out more. After that it mostly switches back and wraps up the mystery of this book and there were some interesting twists and turns that were interesting to see play out. Then the epilogue ends things on a suspenseful note regarding the murderer of her brother's wife and makes me eager for the next book.
I liked following Aly as she tries to solve these mysteries and how she uses her special powers to reveal things. I like how her powers play a role in figuring out who did it. There were a few moments where I felt like she was acting a bit hastily or running into the wrong direction, but luckily she had her boyfriend Sam along for part of this mystery who could calm her down or help her make better decisions. Unfortunately I am still not really feeling their romance, but I liked seeing them spend some time together on page in this book as it helped me get a better feel for them.
There are some fun scenes again with Aly and her boss Olivia. I also liked a certain scene later on with Aly and her brother and how it brings them closer. There are a bunch of great side characters and I liked getting to see some side characters form previous books like Aly's friend from school as well as Thelma.
Part of this book takes place outside of Shady Grove and while it felt more realistic to have a murder somewhere else, I also kinda missed Shady Grove and the familiar characters. Luckily later in the book there are some scenes set in Shady Grove as well. It was a nice mix of visiting another place and then having some parts of the book take place in Shady Grove again.
To summarize: This was another solid book in this series. I liked following Aly as she solves another mystery. This book didn't grip me at first as the new mystery wasn't as interesting and seemed very straightforward. The mystery had some interesting twists and developments later on, but it took me a while to get invested in it. The ongoing mystery about who murdered her brother's wife had some big developments in this on and I was really excited to find out more about that. I liked how Aly uses her powers to help solve the mysteries. There also are some more scenes with her boyfriend Sam in this one, although I still don't fully feel their romance. This book takes place in a different place, but later on there are some scenes in Shady Grove as well. I look forward to the next book!
Ohh I love Aly and her secret ways. Loved how this book has 2 mysteries going on. The ongoing mystery of who killed her sister in law and all the lead up to this event. Then a new murder mystery to solve. And wow what a cracker with so many twists and turns! Can't wait for the next book!!
4.5 stars. I am so enjoying this fun series. This mystery was way better than the last one. I especially like that each book ends in a sort of cliffhanger. Hopefully I can find the next audiobook right away.
Book three of the series continues to follow Ali as she works along side her boss of the antique shop when Ali stumbles upon another murder! This cozy murder mystery with witchy/magical power vibes is fun and exciting with a bit more romance than the first two. Not only is Ali trying to solve her sister in laws murder, but now she has another one that was set up to appear like a natural death until Ali's powers show her otherwise. This book could have gone multiple directions, which kept it fun and kept me guessing.
Ada Bell really kept me on my toes in this latest entry in the Shady Grove Psychic Mystery series!
Sight Seering takes psychic heroine Aly and her boss at the antique store to an estate sale a few hours outside of town. While there Aly gets a shocking vision from a tea set that convinces her the deceased was a victim of foul play. The woman's greedy relatives and lawyer beau are all suspects, but Aly needs proof before the local police will do anything.
With the help of her PI best friend, Rusty, and her crush-turned-boyfriend, Sam, Aly relentlessly pursues the truth, interviewing suspects and trying to piece together clues. There are some big surprises along the way and the final act of this story when Aly's life is in jeopardy is a real nail-biter. Hats off to the writer because she fooled me a couple of times with the twists and turns in this book. There was an item mentioned in the early chapters that I was sure was a "Chekhov's Gun" and it was, but in an entirely different way than I expected!
Expertly woven into the main murder mystery in this book is the ongoing saga of Aly trying to find her sister-in-law's killer. There are SO many gasp-worthy moments on that front and I am on the edge of my seat waiting to find out what the heck is going on with all of these disappearing doppelgängers. Book 4 in this series cannot come soon enough for me!
When Olive asks Aly to come with her to an estate sale for Mystic Pieces business, Aly does not expect anything out of the ordinary. Yet, as soon as Aly steps foot into the house, she is quickly overwhelmed with numerous objects reaching out. Soon she realizes it is the spirit of the deceased. After Aly gets a vision of the woman drinking poisoned tea served by her own niece, Aly understands how to help. Now she just needs to figure out how to prove the murder…
You know a story is fantastic, when the everything is swept away and all you want to do is stay in this other world and find out what happens next. Ada Bell’s Sight Seeing, does exactly that. Grabbing the reader’s attention with not one mystery, but two, and still being able to turn it into an easy-to-follow narrative is just one of the techniques Ada exemplifies.
Toss in her impressive skills as a writer and she ensures there is a lack of spelling and grammatical errors. In addition, the absence of profanity and sexual content allows for readers of any age to enjoy. Accordingly, a rating of 5 out of 5 stars is given.
Please take caution if any of the following actions may cause you distress: poisoning, homicide, murder, suicide, betrayal, and deceit.
Another addition to the Shady Grove Psychic Mystery Series, Sight Seeing combines all the elements of magic, intrigue, and slow burning romance into a delectable tale.
Thank you to #SightSeeing, #ShadyGrovePsychicMysterySeries, #AdaBell, and #EmpressBooks for the opportunity to read this book and give my honest review.
The third novel in the Shady Grove Psychic Mystery series, Sight Seering, is a thrilling read. Aly, the main character, is a young woman with psychic powers who owns and operates a used-goods store named Missing Pieces. She has a vision of the elderly owner being killed as she goes to an estate sale. Although the police don't believe her, Aly is committed to catching the murderer.
There are many excellent qualities about the book. The plot is interesting and intriguing, and the characters are well-rounded and likeable. Shady Grove's backdrop is convincingly portrayed and well-developed.
The book's examination of the concepts of faith and doubt is one of the aspects I liked the most. Aly has considerable faith in her psychic powers, yet she occasionally experiences moments of uncertainty. She is aware that what she witnessed was real, but she is unsure of how to convince people of this. She is empathetic and relatable because of this conflict.
Sight Seering is a fantastic book for people who enjoy cozy mysteries and paranormal fiction overall. With likeable characters and a satisfying conclusion, it is a well-written, intriguing narrative. Without a doubt, I'd suggest it to others.
At an estate sale, Aly Reynolds had a vision of a woman being murdered. The elderly homeowner, Miriam Peabody, was assumed to have died from natural causes. Everyone figured it was a heart attack. The police investigation showed no foul play, but Aly saw the truth in her vision. She will have to uncover the proof and hand it over to the police or the killer will walk away free. Because no one will believe she saw the killer unless she can uncover the evidence. How will she prove what she saw?
Aside from this new mystery, there is an ongoing one as to who killed her brother's wife. I had not read the first two books, so it was sometimes odd trying to make sense of the story, especially the way this one started out. Grab your copy and pick through the clues to find out what’s going on, as she does make some progress on this mystery too.
Aly goes to an estate sale with her boss and as soon as they walk in she can just feel the energy off all the items and she finds a tea set she likes and has a vision that the elderly woman was murdered instead of dying of natural causes. Aly has to ask her boss for the money but by the time she gets finished telling her about the vision they go to pay for the tea set and they find out the tea set was sold and so they go on the search for the set but they keep finding out more clues. I recommend this series to everyone I know.

I love this series! Perfect cozy mysteries with the added bonus of great character development across the series (something not all shorter book cozy series do) and, another added bonus of some substantial plot development across the series too (again, not a common feature for shorter book cozy series.)
Note this means you might not want to do the usual thing many do with shorter cozy books, which is just start with whatever book in the series you find first and then read them in whatever order you can get them in- the longer term plot and character development means your really should try to read this series in order to get the most enjoyment from the stories! It is very worth it!
Aly and Olive are visiting an estate sale. While there Aly finds a tea set and has a vision about the woman that had been murder. She now has to get the tea set back because it is the evidence of the murder. Now what to do? It seems that someone is watching and keeping ahead of her from the getting to the bottom of the case. So, who is the culprit? Will Sam help Aly in solving the crime? Of, course Aly is still trying to find out what happened to her sister-in-law. This being one of the things that she is trying to solve so that her brother can move on. Let's see if she can solve both or it will continue to the next book. Loving this series and the author and narrator.
An hugely entertaining mystery, Ali knows who poisoned Miriam, she saw it when she touched a teapot at her estate sale, this is her power, but how do you convince the police of that. Well written story the third in this series but can be read as a standalone. I my loving this series, with the lead character who recites the periodic table at times of stress. A secondary storyline about her sister in laws murder is developing nicely. Great stuff. I am looking forward to the next book

I am loving this series so far. I am enjoying following along with Aly's growth as a psychic, and her relationship with Sam. With each book, the twists keep getting better and better. And the twists in this book? Mind-blowing 🤯 And what a doozy of a cliffhanger. Cannot wait to see where the rest of the series is heading.
What an interesting and fun book! The plot is easily followed, despite the red herrings and weird surprises. The main characters are fun and interesting. The story is a good one. I do recommend this book.
This is just the best cozy series! I was totally thrown for a loop with how things played out and who the killer was. I was totally on the wrong track! And then what is going on with Katrina’s murder…just so much!
I love Bell’s books! Twists and turns everywhere you go. I love the characters. I really care for Aly, and that’s so important to me! A fun read! This series is best enjoyed in order, I think. Highly recommend!
This was another good read in the Shady Grove psychic mystery series, however, I am not a fan of the dark witchcraft where this book is reading. Going to read the next book but I am hopeful that it does not get too dark!
Ada Bell is so good at drawing you into Shady Grove and leaving you wanting more! I absolutely loved this book and was so surprised at the end. I cannot wait for the next in the series!
A fun read in the series. I particularly like that the characters are not stuck in endless love triangles and that they exhibit growth between books. It's refreshing for a cozy mystery!
I really enjoyed this book. It is fun and interesting. The plot flows well and is engaging. The mystery has many twists. I can't wait to see what happens in the next book.
