I’m trying to remember. He’s trying to forget. And the cartel that took everything from me is trying to kill us.
Isabella
Lance is the only person I trust in this world. I remember nothing from my old life. Not my husband, not our life, not the incident that took him and my memory from me. All I have left from that life is my little daughter. When Lance found me in the desert, alone, with a baby in my arms, he saved us. He promised me he would help me find my husband’s murderers. Our suspects, members of a notorious biker gang, are dangerous. The Rangers, who had called my husband one of their own, refuse to help us. But the deeper we investigate, the more I fall for Lance. And the more I fall for Lance, the more I fear for his life.
Lance
All it takes is one tragedy to change you. I was running away from my tragedy and on my way to becoming a Navy Seal when I found Isabella, alone and wounded, with a newborn daughter in her arms. I knew I had to stay by her side. I am all she has, and she is a ray of sun in the grief that drowns me. I am willing to risk anything for her. I am willing to do anything it takes to help her get her revenge. But I can’t allow her to put herself in danger. She and her little girl have become too precious to me. I can’t lose them and I will do anything to protect them.
Hunter Rose is a Contemporary Romance author who found his love for literature at an early age. Reading everything from Edgar Allen Poe to Nora Roberts, Hunter's love for reading quickly turned into a passion for writing. After writing in a few genres, Hunter became intrigued by Contemporary Romance being the hopeless romantic that he is.
When he is not writing, Hunter finds inspiration through travelling across the world and meeting new people. Although he enjoys spending time with others, Hunter also appreciates some alone time displaying his creativity in his carpentry workshop with a glass of aged Whisky on the rocks.
This is the second book in the series and it can be read as a standalone. The story is fast paced with loads of drama, suspense and steam. Great emotion and lots of depth. I really liked it.
What happens when two people, each looking for something, find each other? Lance, pining for his dead fiancé, is on his way to San Diego to become a Navy Seal. He takes the long route and finds an almost dead Isabella and her newborn baby in the desert. Her amnesia does not allow her to remember anything, and having found her, he feels responsible for her and the baby. Their time together soon turns into a relationship and as Isabella’s memory slowly returns, she wants to find the people responsible for killing her husband, Angel. When they meet up with Jack, Angel’s partner, things begin to rapidly change and after a conversation with Jack, Isabella starts to see Lance as the enemy. Adventure and suspense set in as Lance has to try to convince Isabella that he is not the bad guy.
I am a huge fan of this author’s writing. It is so descriptive that his characters jump out at you--"I see every hair follicle and pore on Jack’s weathered face.” For me, he writes in Technicolor; his paintbrush carefully choosing his vibrant words to create scenes that work together to emphasize mood, images, and meaningful dialogue. These colours help to create his characters and his scenes.
I have to admit that Isabella is not one of my favourite characters. Although she is a strong and feisty female, she did not grab me the way Hunter’s other heroines have. I think I went off her when she showed how eager she was to believe Jack’s comments about Lance, not even giving Lance a chance for any kind of rebuttal. And that got her in a ‘whole lot of trouble’. Lance’s character is strong and caring. What kind of a man would put his life on hold to look after a woman and baby that he just met? A loyal, brave, and dedicated man, and that is what Lance is.
Hunter Rose’s writing is addictive. His style, his choice of words, and how he constructs a sentence, lead to a beautiful and appealing story. He does very well when mixing tension and edginess with romance. And you can bet your last dollar that you are going to get love scenes that are so passionate and juicy that the steam will rise off the page. Even your e-reader will be close to combusting. I strongly applaud this book and highly recommend it.
I enjoyed Broken. It's an appropriate title, in that both characters are broken and help each other find a way to move forward from their devastating losses. Lance is a marine who's fiancee has died while serving. He hasn't been able to move forward since her death. He has been recommended to try out for SEALs and told to take time off to get his head together and then report. On his way cross country, he follows some strange car tracks and comes across a destroyed vehicle and finds Isabella unresponsive and a newborn in her lap. Later, a doctor tells him Isabella has been put in a coma for two weeks and would he be willing to stay and sit with her since her husband is dead and she has no other family. There are quite a few things that you have to suspend logic about in this tale and this is one of them. If you can do that, you will enjoy the story. She has amnesia when she wakes up. She accepts Lance and her baby, named Hope by Lance. They go back to Pueblo to find the killer of her husband. This part really requires some suspension of reality or just good old common sense. I couldn't decide if it was supposed to be immaturity on both their parts or just getting the story moving. I don't believe a 25 year old marine would be this reckless or that Isabella would be so reckless or naive after how practical she is described at the beginning. The adventure is compelling, dangerous with bikers and drug trafficking, and sweet as Lance and Isabella's relationship develops. The love scenes are well written, the biker characters are too shallow, but the end is satisfying.

Lance and Isabella are both dealing with a tragedy in their lives, she lost her husband and has amnesia and Lance lost a loved one as well. I loved Lance's character, disliked Isabella's intensely. He saved her and then stuck around to be there while she was recovering. Isabella then convinces Lance to help her get justice for her husband who was murdered by a gang. Isabella has a newborn and knows these people killed her husband and tried to kill her so she takes her newborn back to where they lived and fled from to try and solve his murder by herself, why put herself and her newborn in danger. She and Lance get involved and she gets on him about hiding his feelings and thoughts knowing she is telling him one thing even though she feels something else. At one point, she tells him to leave and doesn't want him in her life and then later after he comes back and saves her, she chastises him for leaving her! Apparently he is a glutton for punishment and they get their HEA. Unfortunately, I didn't find her feisty, My dislike of Isabella's personality aside, the novel contained action, mystery and romance and was still an enjoyable read, I never felt like Isabella grew during the book but Lance faced his demons and moved on. The writing and editing was good as well.

The book opens with a description of Lance, a soldier returning home on enforced leave of service grieving for the loss of his fiancee, Virginia, who was also in service. Isabella, pregnant, is woken abruptly by her husband Angel, Texas Ranger, insisting they need to leave, to escape main drug distributors and seek protective custody. Isabella is frightened and questions the lack of plans and Angel behaviour - somethings do not add up & they are pursued through the desert which ends in Angel being killed and she is caught up by those chasing them. Lance eventually comes across her, unresponsive having lost a lot of blood from delivering her baby, manages to get her and the child medical help, where Isabella wakes after 3 weeks in a coma with no memory, but Lance is there.....lies, deceit, betrayal, danger and mistrust are all involved as the pair try to discover what has happened but eventually lead to a solid relationship as each pursues their careers and settle into being a family.

Broken, brought together and bonded by fate Broken (Hunter’s Heroes Book 2) by Hunter Rose is a unique romance, but an enjoyable read. It has an urgent feel once the characters are brought together through tragedy. If not for their individual tragic experiences, they would not have crossed paths to make the connection. The plot is interesting as it revolves around and seems directed by fate itself. As Lance and Isabella spend more and more time together, both of them bonding with baby Hope and each other, things heat up between them. As time goes on, Isabella’s predicament heats up too and Lance is in danger of losing it all, all over again with at a greater cost. Overall, this romance packs an emotional punch along with suspense and danger to keep the reader on the edge of their seat. And of course, despite the desolate beginning, Lance and Isabella’s (and Hope too!) story ends with a much deserved HEA and a very promising future. Wound Hero and Endangered Woman and Child Broken is a wonderful, heartfelt love story. Lance is a Marine heading home for a short stay after the death of his finance. Once he touches base at home with his family, he starts a scenic drive across the county to take the Seals admittance test. Isabella is a caring person. She survives an attack caused by her husband’s job in the Texas Rangers. Lance discovers Isabella and her newborn daughter shortly after the attack. Lance sees the damage along the deserted road he has been driving. Once he investigates and discovers the survivors, he gets them the needed medical help by the use of his satellite phone. Isabella is out for weeks. She wakes with amnesia. Lance sticks around to help out with whatever is needed. He names the baby, Hope. Lance is instantly drawn to the baby and mother. Will Isabella and Lance be able to overcome their grief together?

I really appreciate the emotions that went into "Broken". As someone who recently lost their other half, I could identify with Lance very well. The feelings can be overwhelming, and are portrayed extremely well in the book. How do you escape the crushing sorrow? How do you move on when your everything is gone? Lance's actions and desire to escape the pain are very real. Isabella and Hope give him a chance to live again. None of the book is predictable, except maybe the ending. To see Lance and Isabella work out their individual and shared traumas was heart warming. From waking up in the hospital to the biker bar to the hill top in Kane, the couple rides a roller coaster of emotions that are well thought out and well written. This is a book well worth reading, and I will definitely be on the lookout for the next in the series, as well as looking to pick up the first book.

Wow, what can I say about this book. It will grab your attention right at the beginning and you will find it hard to put down. An emotional journey of two broken people who have both lost the most important person in their lives, Isabella's husband was murdered and his body burned but she has lost her memory and doesn't remember it. Lance was still recovering from the death of his fiance when fate brought him to Isabella. She and her recently born daughter with the cord still attached were at death's door when he arrived. This is an amazing story of courage, love, salvation, redemption that is full of danger and fast action. Guaranteed to be a page turner. The characters are strong and multi layered. The story line is gripping and will keep your interest with the danger and twists. I read an arc via Booksprout and voluntarily chose to write a review.

Broken: Hunter’s Hero’s Book 2 is the second book in Hunter’s Heroes series. I was given an advanced copy from the author to leave an honest review. This is the story of Serena’s older brother Lance Nelson. His story takes place after Coached (book 1) and First Play (book 1.5). We read about Lance and I will warn you the first line, actually the first paragraph is powerful and a gut punch. Prepare yourselves. We meet Isabella Galvez and read about her situation. It’s brutal - I’ll be honest. I don’t like her behavior post accident. You know an author has succeeded in a great story when he has a reader rant and rave about their characters - which are fiction. Yes I know. However our author deems these characters are destined for one another. I will allow you to decide.
Such a great suspenseful read. Two lost souls find each other and seek justice. Lance is broken and grieving his dead fiancée. He comes home and starts a journey from Connecticut to San Diego. Isabella is very pregnant and forced to flee from a drug dealing gang with her husband. Lance discovers Isabella and the baby in the nick of time. She has amnesia but nothing stops them from becoming important to each other. Isabella struggles with not knowing her husband or who killed him. Lance is drawn to Isabella and the baby and lingers for weeks and months to take care of them. They have to deal with the forces that want Isabella dead.

Broken. This book was wonderful! I was blown away by the way the author gives us such a realistic view of what happened to Lance and Isabella. They both experience some traumatic life changing events that changes life as they know it. Lance is devastated by the death of his fiancée. He doesn't know how to go on with life. He stumbled on to a crazy scene that pulled him in because there was a woman suffering with a new born left out in the deserted area. The storyline was great! I was captivated by the suspense. The characters were amazing and captured my heart. This is a must read book! Just wow...loved this book so much. Absolutely loved the storyline between Lance and Isabella. Oh my ...this was such an intense and moving story. I was so nervous when Lance left and so excited that he hadn't given up on her. They both deserved their happy ending especially after what they had both been through and so happy they were getting it and with a new arrival on the horizon. Hope was adorable and I was so happy that Lance fell in love with her from the moment he saw her. I loved the part when he said that the moment she looked at him it was as though she were looking through to his soul. The book truly is a wonderful read and not to be missed. Worth more than my 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐s as far as I'm concerned.
Lance and Isabella meet during the worst part of their lives. He just lost his fiance and she just lost here husband and gave birth. Lance found her in the desert and stayed with her in the hospital while they had her in a coma. The storyline had a lot of action and suspense as her husband was a Texas Ranger, killed by the drug ring they were after. Her amnesia plays into a lot of situations as she starts to remember. The romance and support they give each other helps them get through this period of their lives. Loved the ending and the joking they had about getting engaged. Enjoyed the story and hope to read more by this author.

This book was absolutely fantastic and had me so enthralled that I couldn't put it down as the storyline flowed throughout the book and the characters were awesome and you absolutely felt their pain and broken hearts.lance is a marine on leave after losing his fiance and needs to deal with it when he finds a horrible scene and finds a baby and woman. Can he walk away from them? Isabella wakes up in the hospital with amnesia and feels safe with Lance but can he help her heal? Find out what happened to her? This book was truly heartbreaking and found myself crying and going through other emotions with this book. Trust Me it's a must read!

This is the 2nd book in this intriguing series, and this is Lance and Isabella’s journey. Lance is a marine who is struggling with the loss of his fiancé, and when he comes across Isabella with her baby daughter, alone and hurt, he is determined to be there for her. When Isabella wakes up in hospital she is suffering from amnesia, and as her memory slowly returns, she is determined to find her husband’s murderer. Can these two broken souls heal each other and move on with their lives? This is a well written fast paced story which is emotionally charged, and with drama, danger, suspense, and love, which leads to a steamy and addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
So much craziness. Like a soap opera. There are evil cartels, a dash of amnesia, being on the run, murder, double crossing, some lucky breaks, new baby, bikers, real and fake LEOs. So much going on. Loved lance. He was so broken in the beginning after losing Serena and not sure what to do so he is on a née course to be a SEAL. Isabella has lost a lot, her husband, and her memory as to what happened but on top of that has a brand new baby. And is on the run from the cartel who did it all. They just fit. It was adorable the three of them together against the world. I felt horrible for lance when she got her memory back and believed all those lies. Wow. What a way to turn on someone. But it all worked out. Loved the end.
Stupendous! This book grabbed my attention from the very beginning and kept it until the very last word. Isabella and Lance had both lost the person they loved most and were still trying to recover. When he found Isabella with her recently born daughter the cord was still attached. Fortunately his training kicked in, and he could save both their lives. However, danger lurks for both of them in the form of the cartel that is trying to kill both her along with her daughter. Danger, devotion, and romance perfectly combined. Another great book from this lovely author. I was excited to read about Lance since he was mentioned here and there throughout Coached. But man, I did not expect the story that I received. Isabella and Lance are two broken souls searching for someway to be mended. Then add in the factor of Isabella not remembering anything and her life being in danger, of course Lance is there to help protect her and mend her the best way he knows how to, and then in turn she helps him mend his own heart. This book is a great and easy read and I cannot wait for more from Hunter Rose because I'm hooked now.

Broken, book two in the Hunter’s Heroes series follows Navy Seal Lance Nelson, Serena’s older brother from book one, and Isabella Galvez. While out on patrol, Lance finds an almost dead woman and her baby out in the desert and rescues them. Although she spends several weeks in a coma, and now suffers from amnesia, the pair eventually grow closer as Lance begins to care for both Isabella and baby Hope, whom he helped name. But what happens when they return to her home to figure out what really happened? Will Isabella’s memory loss force a divide between the new couple, or will they be able to stay together?
Lance and Isabella meet after her husband is killed in the dessert of Texas. She has just given birth after being chased and shit by a drug gang. Lance calls for help and both the baby and Isabella are sent to the hospital. Isabella is put in a coma to protect her and the doctor asks Lance to stick around since Isabella has no one. Isabella has amnesia when she wakes up. They embark on a journey to find who killed her husband.

This is my second book that I've read of Hunter Rose and it won't be my last. This story is in the same world as Coached with Lance, Darren's best friend and Serena's brother, as the hero. Lance recently lost his fiancee who died while on a military mission. He is "broken" and just wants to be left alone. Isabella, the heroine, is recently widowed with an infant. These two meet and become friends but have feelings for each other. There is suspense and a little angst but worth a read. I received an advance copy of this book from booksprout and this is my honest and voluntary review.
Broken hits all the feels. The circumstances surrounding Lance and Isabella's first meeting is dire. They have to both overcome some life altering obstacles, and this is where the slow burn romance mixed with the intensity of fighting for their lives is the most intense.
I had a little trouble getting into this one, but once Lance finds the courageous Isabella, it really took off. You don't have to read the first Heroes to understand this one. I recommend Broken if you enjoy two people finding themselves and finding happiness after life tries its best to steal it.
Isabella and her baby daughter are in trouble. She's lost her husband and her memory when Lance finds her and cows to protect her with all he has. This is so good. Intense is not the word but omg, this is dramatic and such a roller coaster of a book. Leaving it alone was out of the question. Each page I turned led on to more of a mystery and I just had to wait it out. Hunter writes a compelling book that grips you and doesn't let go. Fantastic is putting it lightly! Seriously!

I really enjoyed this book. Hunter really did a great job. There was sadness, action, grief, betrayal, and love. Two bond after a loss then separate only to be reunited. Jack was supposed to be Angel's partner and friend but he committed the ultimate betrayal for lust. Isabella and Lance helped each heal and formed a bond from the start. And let's not forgot baby Hope. Their love story has its obstacles and they overcome them evidently. This was a great read. I enjoyed it.

Hero’s come in many sizes, shapes, colors and genders. Some even break our ❤️‘s. Lance is thought of as a Marine hero but his former fiancé, Victoria, died a hero and broke his ❤️. While in transition and trying to figure his future out he inadvertently does become a hero and finds himself in a huge mess. Isabella is lost, found, confused and in danger in a whirlwind that is chaos. Can a mutual understanding of loss brain these two together or will it permanently separate them?

I absolutely ADORED Serena and Darren’s story and I was hungry for more Hunter’s Heroes! However, this book has a slower start and a less believable timeline. That being said, I still enjoyed the suspense, chemistry between the main characters and the HEA. I’m looking forward to the possibility of John Riker eating his words about falling for one woman in a future installment of this series. Thank you for another book I devoured in one day!!!

This was not my favourite book by this author although the story does have elements of suspense at the beginning when Lance first found Isabella and her newborn baby alone in the middle of nowhere, I found it difficult to believe in the story and parts seemed repetitive but then maybe that's just me?
The plot although intense also had lots of unanswered questions about what happened and why? I so felt they came together too quickly considering their histories. The story does include adult situations and language.
The second book in the Hunter’s Heroes series a well written story with a good storyline. Marine Lance Nelson has lost his fiancee and has gone to a cabin to give himself time to heal. He finds Isabella Galvez and her daughter Hope who need his protection, her husband a Ranger has just been murdered. There is suspense, drama, danger, villains, and a second chance for them both. This story held my interest until the end. I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
