I don’t do love. I don’t do relationships. What I do is tour with my band and enjoy the life we worked so hard to earn. When I’m home, my favorite escort is always happy to join me in bed.
Except he’s not an escort anymore. He has, however, hand-picked someone to replace him. I’m dubious because I hate change, but I’ll give this new guy a chance.
And I will not fall in love with him.
Bryce
This escort gig is seriously intimidating, and the last thing I expect is for my first client to be a literal rock star.
No, scratch that—it’s the second to last thing I expect.
The last thing?
How fast and hard I’m falling for him.
Gentlemen of the Emerald City
Bryce is Book 3 of Gentlemen of the Emerald City, a sexy series centered around the high class, high-dollar Gentlemen of Seattle’s most exclusive escort service. Each book is full of snark, sass, and sweetness, and like any Emerald City client, you’re guaranteed a happy ending.
L.A. Witt and her husband have been exiled from Spain and sent to live in Maine because rhymes are fun. She now divides her time between writing, assuring people she is aware that Maine is cold, wondering where to put her next tattoo, and trying to reason with a surly Maine coon. Rumor has it her arch nemesis, Lauren Gallagher, is also somewhere in the wilds of New England, which is why L.A. is also spending a portion of her time training a team of spec ops lobsters.
Authors Ann Gallagher and Lori A. Witt have been asked to assist in lobster training, but they "have books to write" and "need to focus on our careers" and "don't you think this rivalry has gotten a little out of hand?" They're probably just helping Lauren raise her army of squirrels trained to ride moose into battle.
An inauspicious first meeting between Rock Star/ Client Alec and newbie Escort Bryce leads to unexpected emotions. I liked Alec’s somewhat unique sexual preferences. Their encounters had a sweet, sexy vibe. In most MM romance I’ve read, the sexy bit is more traditional. I also thought Bryce was a little too unpolished and not in a sexy way, initially. It made me wonder who was the client and who was the escort? Alec seemed to be the one coaching and comforting Bryce into his Escort role. I also didn’t feel the deep love connection between the two MCs. Finally, I thought that Bryce settled for a vocation that did not live up to his potential to be with Alec. Overall, this is an averagely good enough read.
An interesting journey of discovery between two very different men. A slow realisation of change and development of emotion. Lots of steam and great dialogue. Michael Ferraiuolo's brilliant narration brings it all to a heightened level of engagement.
After two books about escorts and hockey players falling in love (which I didn’t mind at all), it was a nice change of pace to switch to a very different sort of celebrity. The stars of this romance involve Alec the rock star, mentioned in a previous book, and Bryce the brand-new escort, previously introduced as a secondary character. Though Bryce is new to this particular profession, and Alec is incredibly resistant to change, the sparks flew between them after a minor initial hiccup.
Witt plays with romance tropes in this book, in which the evolving relationship is practically the definition of a slow burn, but the characters spend a ton of time together (sexually and otherwise). The “forced proximity” is entirely of their own doing, and then Bryce and Alec have the audacity to act surprised when they develop feelings! Witt manages a decent amount of angst without either character descending into melodrama, and the eventual resolution is exactly as nerve-wracking and romantic as it needed to be.
One element I especially appreciated about this book is how the physical aspect was presented. Even in a vanilla relationship, sexual desires can vary greatly, but the important bit is how all parties respect that. Witt manages plenty of steam without following “expected” patterns for this genre. I look forward to both peeking in on Alec and Bryce the next time the band is home from tour and especially reading the next book in this series, starring another familiar secondary character!
This is book 3 in the series. The 2 main characters are Bryce, a student, also a friend of Cole 's and they had previously been in a relationship but realized friends worked better. The second character, is Alec, the lead singer of the Seven Dragons, who also happened to connect with Cole every time he was in town until Cole got serious with Parker. Cole decided to recommend Bryce to Alec. When Bryce first went, his nerves of being around someone famous and having to perform made it difficult to perform. He spoke to Cole and he asked Alec for a redo. Best idea ever. After that, they hung out all the time, they talked, they ate, they kissed, they got naked and had lots of fun. Alec was also super busy trying to get an album out and get ready to tour. This whole time Bryce is keeping him calm through the stress. Right before Alec leaves Bryce shares his feelings without using the L word. Alec said he is not into relationships. The day it was time to go both were so sad. They knew it would be a really long time. I will leave it at that but the end is a must READ! IT is not quite what you think. 10/10
Okay this series is so good and this no exception. Bryce needs money and at Cole's suggestion he joins Gentlemen of the Emerald City. Cole is so sure he will make it he sends one of his old clients over to him. Alec is a big rock n roller and likes his privacy but one thing he doesn't do relationships.
I love Bryce and Alec and how Bryce freaks out at first and their story line was really good. I was sending encouragement to Alec the whole way for him to get over his fears. I loved that there are squirrels in the plot and the whole band has named them and is so besotted with them. I really enjoyed getting a glimpse of how Ethan and Luca are doing and a little more to Cole and Parker's story it is really nice when you can find out that previous relationships are still working.
A really great edition to a fantastic series. Hot, caring, sweet and so well written.
Another great installment in this series! Alec was delightful. So kind and thoughtful. Bryce was, too. These two went together so well. I feel like I don't know either character very well apart from each other, but they're great together so it's fine. I enjoyed Alec's hangups around change and relationships. It felt both real and unique. Bryce was such a go with the flow guy, which I appreciated.
Overall, it was a great retelling of a trope I love - escort and client fall in love. I am really enjoying this series and will definitely be reading the rest. Also the squirrels were delightful and the band seems awesome.
Written in dual first person POV. Lots of hot M/M sexy times and more humor than I expected. Can be read as a standalone.
I enjoyed this book more than the previous because even though Bryce was in school and didn’t know what career he wanted, he had a goal to figure it out. Cole (previous book) didn’t really have any future plans and that just seemed stupid.
Like the previous books, Bryce is an escort for the money but not because of any past abuse or any other issues. The story is cute and realistic and I really enjoyed it.
Alec was the lead singer of a band, and afraid of change. His normal Emerald guy Cole was no longer working for the company, but he recommended someone Bryce. Bryce was new to Emerald and Alec would be his first client. Their first meeting didn't go well. I enjoyed their journey.
Honestly cannot get enough of this series, and it’s going to hurt so much when it’s over. But I’m enjoying it to the very last word while I can. My favourite thing is how the next future pairing is kind of mentioned in the book before it, the best little Easter egg 🥰
This was a really fun and sexy read. Both of the main characters are likable and have issues that are very relatable. The sex scenes were hot and the romance was really sweet.
What is a rock star to do when he wants a hook up but has particular tastes? Hire a gentleman from Emerald City app. Alec takes it well when Cole is no longer available, he finds Bryce, a man who loves thigh high boots on his partners. It's a low angst story with a rock star.
This was good and I do love a book where anal is not the holy grail of everything. Someone does not want it/like it and no problem, we'll just get creative and everyone is happy. Nice one! Did not count the amount of showers but I think there were quite a few as well...
It was fine. Not boring exactly, but kinda flat. The sex was 🔥 Sex work is valid work, but this series so far is giving an awfully rainbows, unicorns, and puppies view of it. Which is fine for fantasy, but outcomes will vary greatly IRL.
Its nice to know that rock stars can have hearts of gold!!!! The guys just keep getting bitter and hotter and that doesn't include the hockey players they are in a league of their own!!! Thank you so much - Lori
Cette série, je l'aime vraiment beaucoup ! Et ce livre ne fait pas exception. Bien écrit, un peu de sexe, beaucoup de sentiments et de réflexions de la part des héros...
This story is probably just shy of 4 stars for me, I didn't enjoy it quite as much as the 1st two. I did like that we'd moved off hockey players, I most likely would not have read if that was the case. There is some repetitivemess between all the books so far that another hockey player (in a row) would have been too much. Bryce and Alec had a sweet, low angst story.
I love the premise of this whole series: high-end escorts falling in love with their clients. This one is by far my favorite of the three that the author has published.
Bryce is an escort that has been starting out, actually has never booked a client - sweet, we love one rookie dude trying out something new. Alec is a famous rockstar who likes security, comfort, and predictability in his sex life - equally sweet premise, I love rockstars that are just huge homebodies covered in tattoos and leather pants. Let me tell you, the tattoos on Alec are exceptionally hot, as they become the key to some of the most intensely romantic/sexy moments of this book. Alec hires Bryce, hires Bryce again, and they accidentally end up in a relationship Alec did not expect and Bryce kinda hoped for. Ok, it's a rockstar romance that is so incredibly, intensely sweet. A lovely, hot read. I particularly appreciated the fact that Alec stays true to his sexual preferences, I won't mention what because I think it's a lovely discovery that each reader should make on their own; I love that Bryce is not his only exception in what he likes. It's great to see that grown men who know their bodies, their tastes, are portrayed as such.
As an added bonus, of course Alec has a wonderful backyard and the softies that are his bandmates actually named the little creatures that live in it. MY HEART. There is a minor character who is an actual rockstar and has a stutter? Be still my beating heart. So sweet.
I am giving this book four stars instead of five because a. there's a couple of annoying typos b. the cover just looks amateurish and I can't get over this fact. If this author didn't come recommended, I would have NEVER given this book or the whole series the time of day because it looks like something that's been haphazardly put together by someone who does not do this for a job. It makes me sad that a whole bunch of new readers might not pick up Witt's books for this reason - I don't think I am the only one feeling like this. It's just sad.

5 *****Stars Book: Bryce Series: Gentlemen of Emerald City #3 Author: L.A, Witt Publisher: L.A. Witt Release date: July 28, 2021 Pages: 290 Genre: Gay Romance Rated: Mature Well I am way on to a marathon reading experience enjoying the ups and downs of my getting to meet the hottest guys in Seattle…….all beautiful men finding their happily ever after…… Ms Witt has changed the form and after the first 2 books being Hockey Players, Book 3 is a wonderful change. Don’t get me wrong, I love my Hockey Boys, but the change of pace was good….. Let me begin with Bryce, who has just joined Emerald City. This is his first swipe right, and on his way to meet his client he gets all into his head and actually gets cold feet after arriving and leaves. Reflecting he texts Alec and asks for a do over. Alec had a person at Emerald City, but when he returned home from his tour, the ‘gentleman’ was no longer available. So let’s talk about TOUR…..Alec is the front man to a VERY FAMOUS rock band known all over the world….Bryce got the Gold Ring right? The second meeting went better, Alec explaining no relationships for him….Just needs companionship when he is home BLAH BLAH BLAH…..yes we’ve heard that before, but our author has written a book or two before and brings us another wonderful story!! I loved to hear both POV’s…..I love the series….and there are more to be read…On to Marco and Andre yay!
Alec, a rock star who tours a lot, meets up with Bryce when he hires him as an escort in order to deal with the stress & pressure of his work.
Alec is Bryce’s first client, so the first night is really difficult stress wise, but Alec is very forgiving & willing to try again. Alec is fine with restarting, since he knows personally how stressful certain changes can be.
Alec then ends up relying on Bryce as more than just an escort, more as a listening ear, as a sounding board for various situations. And as for Bryce, he ends up feeling much closer than he should be, considering Alec is just his client.
-... I was never going to get tired of this view. (...) ...he was just Alec, and Alec made me forget how to breathe. ... -Why do I feel like my next album is going to be all about you? And why do I feel like they’ll all be breakup songs?
But... after all is said & done... that’s not all they are to each other. They are more, so much more.
<3 their last evening & morning together before the tour... Funny, heartbreaking, it was everything...
I have been following L.A. Witt's The Gentlemen of Emerald City since the series began with Luca in June and have loved every minute of these stories - exclusive high priced escorts who find something more when just the right person comes looking for their services...
In the third installment, we meet Cole's (book 2) friend Bryce - a brand new escort and his very first client - Alec, the lead singer of a very successful rock band and a man who craves intimacy without commitment but also hates change..
Bryce and Alec. Light, sweet romance without much conflict. Introspection was repetitive, and much could have been cut out without detracting from the story. Resolution at the end was quick. Skimmed about 1/3, which normally would mean a death knell, but I was invested in seeing these characters reach their HFN. Will take a break, but continue the series later. C, no reread
