The author is a neuroscientist who also suffers from CKD and he details the progression and treatments available for those suffering from CKD in terms that lay people can understand! Excellent read!

Skimmed or skipped most of this - looking for early warning signs/diet. Particularly good intro to kidney 101 for the history/english lit/aviation guy.
