The You Choose books are associated with a number of different series. This is the series about the cryptids. Between the chupacabra and Loch Ness monster books, I preferred the Loch Ness monster, but that's just because I find the Loch Ness monster more exciting in general. The books themselves are identical in writing style and options. If a kid likes one, they are likely to like them all.
The book begins with a little background on the chupacabra and the investigators choosing whether to go to a siting in Texas, Puerto Rico, or Argentina. Within each of these choices are more choices. When you get to the end you can go back and take a different path until eventually you've explored every option if you choose to do so.
Most of the choices are about staying put near a farm and waiting for the creature to return or head off into the woods in pursuit. Staying at the farm entails getting video footage or photographs. All proof always ends up being blurry and non conclusive. Some choices lead to a person getting hurt. Interesting to see all the option available to investigators and how they arrive at their choice.
