I was rather bored by this but my six-year-old enjoyed it and asked for more books in the series. I don't find the writing or illustration style anything special, but it's cute enough for the target audience if they enjoy under-the-sea adventures.

This was an adorable story! Simon had a penchant for telling tall tales (though everyone knows and he’s not purposefully trying to lead people astray, they just love his stories)! There is a Pearl that he calls lucky, but that’s not a huge issue. I mean the pearl is important but the luck part isn’t 😂 a lovely chapter book for kids learning to read and those who are old enough for short chapter book read-a-longs!

Simon the seahorse likes to spin tall tales. They can be entertaining, and sometimes they're disruptive, but they are all told with good intentions. One day, while Simon is concocting his next story, he loses his precious pearl in the process. Follow Simon and his sea-dwelling friends on an adventure to find his lost treasure!
