Affirmations for Each Day of the Year

As the title states, this book has positive affirmations for each day of the year. Affirmation topics range from health, wealth, self-confidence, strength, and much more. The affirmations are short, sometimes just a few words. Some look at smaller facets of life, while others tackle the big picture. A brief paragraph of the author’s take on it follows each affirmation. Before the affirmations, the author briefly discusses affirmations and goal-setting in an introductory section. I received a PDF ARC copy, and I wished that there were more space or visual break between each day. Part of the power of a “365 day” book is focusing on just one day at a time. I did have a look at the eBook version, and it looks the same between days. That’s my only complaint about this book. If you enjoy using daily affirmations, you might enjoy this book that will give you one to focus on each day of the year.

I received a free copy of this book (and later "purchased" a copy for free), but that did not affect my review.

This was my book of the year 2024. I really enjoyed the daily affirmations. The small size and format was perfect.

A self-help book with daily affirmations to help you reach your goals and live your life better. But as usual, I just don't find some of the 'help' in these books helpful at all.

For a start I found some of the affirmations a bit, well, ‘samey’. They were saying a lot of the same thing but just worded differently.
Some affirmations contradicted others. On the one hand the author acknowledges most of us struggle financially etc, but then on the other she’s telling us to ‘pay it forward to some stranger we’ve never met’ or ‘to give money to those in need’. And there was one heading which stated to ‘love the way you look’ to which in the paragraph after she proceeds to say that you can change your hair colour and/or your clothes!
And according to the author ‘success’ is only if you eat something healthy & any changes you make have to be healthy ones. Really?
And apparently if you can’t forgive someone you’re to thank them for the experience. So if I was assaulted I have to thank them, do I?? I mean, seriously?!? The author makes a lot of assumptions about how people are or live their life.
And what is it with these sort of self-help books that they bang on about goals? For me, goals put pressure on yourself. They may help some to get on and do something but that isn’t always a good thing.

But, it wasn't all bad. Some affirmations made sense and I can see how they'd help if you thought about them a lot.
But there was just not enough in this book for me to make the time I took reading it time worthwhile.
