Being the head of the Boston Wolfes means I get a lot of perks.
Perks such as: the best food, the best deals, the best horses.
And the best accountant.
For that, I want Kenny.

Especially when I find out that Kenny is a beautiful brown-haired, blue-eyed woman named Kendall.

My brothers aren’t too happy about it. Say she can’t be trusted.
That she will be my downfall.
That she’s lurking around making plans with my biggest enemy.

But I’m not some love struck little boy.
I control this city. You can’t deceive me.

Besides, no one dares to mess with a Wolfe, anyway.

This was an okay story but I didn't really like the plot device of hiding key information. It made both Kenny and Frankly look really dumb and it was unnecessary. Further more, I just didn't feel like Franky had as much darkness as I think we needed to see to picture him as someone that runs, notoriously Irish, Boston. The scene in the bar with the dead kid when Franky has no reaction nor do we find out if he followed up on anything about that was distressing and didn't help further the idea that he is a good leader.

I would have liked to see a bit more intimacy, not just being told that they spent time talking. I want to see how they get to know each other.

This was okay but I'm on the fence about following to Connor.

I did not care for the writing style. The switch in POVs was too frequent.

Ahh oh wow I adored this book so much; from the gripping plot to the betrayal and secrets to the complex characters and the passionate love! It had me utterly obsessed already from the first two chapters, the Wolfe brothers and Kendall instantly stealing my heart.

Franklin and Kendall are seriously pure gold! They are a freaking epic duo and their love story, wow it's remarkable. She is a country girl, kind, sassy and bold as heck. He is so damn loyal, would do anything for his brothers, a total sweetheart underneath, oh and the man who rules the city of Boston. And together? Damn they are everything, and hot!

Their first meeting and every single interaction after that is spectacular, and I adored every single second of it. That instant chemistry I felt between them is everything. The tension, the intensity, the steam, the forming bond and all the feels; oh my gosh, it's perfect and out of this world!

And the way both start opening up and being vulnerable around each other is so sweet. I love the development Kendall goes through; she went from a fearful girl to this absolute badass. I love how Franklin treats her the way she deserves to be treated; like a damn mafia queen! And I love the way he shows her what she's truly capable of, because that girl could rule the world. Wow that man owns a part of my heart for sure.

In Billie Lustig's style, this book stressed me the hell out! I never knew where the story would go next and I was on the edge of my seat most of the time. And when those intense moments hit, they hit hard! She also really knows how to blend things I love in a mafia romance and make it so damn epic and unique! And the horse racing, I've never seen that in a book before, let alone a mafia one, and it was such an amazing aspect. Franklin with a horse... I'll just leave it at that, haha.

Franklin was the read I seriously needed in my life after the major book hangover from the Fire Duet. Please, I'm so so ready for Connor's book!

"She makes me want to do better, be better, and fuck me, she makes me want to love and protect her, evoking emotions in me I'd always thought were reserved for my brothers - it's fucking impossible not to love her."

*I received this ARC from the author but the thoughts are completely my own.*

Soooo. I have some mixed feelings about this.

On the one hand, I really liked it.
I thought the characters were interesting and I was very interested in the way they interacted with each other. The chemistry and tension was at a thousand.
And I liked it.
I really enjoyed the dangerous and secretive plot.

But.

On the other, I really disliked that Kenny kept lying to Franky for so long. And when I say for ‘so long’, I mean the Entire book.

Ugh. I hated that.

Still.
I did have a good time getting to know these characters.
The plot, while frustrating and annoying at times, was interesting and kept me engaged. (And a little enraged)
The sex was steamy, though kept brief and not as detailed as I prefer my smut.
The relationship was lacking a lot of trust and felt a bit fake in certain moments throughout.
But I did like the ending.
Sort of.
My advice. If you’re gonna read this, make sure you don’t skip the bonus scene, because it really should’ve been a regular part of the book instead of an option at the end. It’s the only thing that makes the book redeemable.
*sigh*
I liked the book. And the characters. Even the brothers.
But I really don’t think I’ll be reading anymore from this series.
One was enough for me I think.

I was so happy to see Reign and his, “boyish grin” again!!! Still as endearing as ever, this time Reign is with his brothers, the Wolfes. We get glimpses in to the lives of his other brothers (Kallum and Connor), too, but as the title shows, this story is focused on Reign’s oldest brother, Franklin.

Running several businesses and serving as the patriarch of his small family of brothers, Franklin isn’t looking for love when he meets Freya. However, she is unlike anyone he’s ever met - snarky, confident and unwilling to back down. What he doesn’t know when he first meets her is that she has an abusive ex who just happens to be one of his biggest enemies. When that enemy decides to blackmail Freya, things get real messy…

At first, I was sure I knew where this story was going and how it would end up, but Billie blew my mind with her ingenuity! This book is not just unpredictable and entertaining, it is also super suspenseful and smoking hot!

By the way, if you don’t know who Reign is, you don’t need to in order to enjoy this book, but you’ll fall in love with him if you do read his story in Billie’s FIRE duet!

After meeting Reign and Franklin in Fire duet I couldn’t wait for the Boston Wolf series!
Franklin is the first book in series following the Wolfe brothers. Franklin is the oldest, head of the family and mafia crime lord of Boston.

I really liked the beginning of this book. Franklin was determined to have Kendall come work for him but she wouldn’t budge. When she finally agrees, they quickly realize it’s impossible to ignore the chemisty between them so their relationship quickly shifts into something more.

The plot had suspense, some light mafia elements and great steam. Billi’s writing is amazing and is guaranteed to keep you glued to your reader!
I did find the story a bit predictable with secrets and betrayal, and it also took me a bit longer to warm up to Kendall. But in the end, I really lliked her and she had great character development.
I really loved the relationship and dynamics between Wolfe brothers, and can’t wait to find more about other brothers and their past.
The ending left me really curious about what will happen next so Connor’s book cannot come soon enough!

Did I read this book in 7 hours? Yes. Yes I did. You know why? Because Billie writes the most thrilling, addictive stories ever!

Okay, I did not expect to love Franklin as much as I did. I didn’t think any of Billie’s men could compare to Kane (chasing fire duet) BUT Franklin bloody shocked me. I mean, a mafia crime Lord who runs the underworld.. of course I would love him!

Let me tell you the Boston Wolfes are one hell of a fucking unit. Franklin is the scary, sexy as sin leader, Conor (who’s mine btw) is the beefy, violent brother, Reign (who we already know and love) is that goofy, easy brother but will still stab you in the eye and Killian.. (okay I know I said Connor was mine but I’m also putting some dibs on Killian) is the protective alpha brother. IMAGINE all four of these beasts strutting into a room about to kill you.. because yes, that’s what happens on page one. This book starts on fire!!

Franky and Kenny are literally goals. I absolutely loved the side of Franklin that Ken brought out of him.. like he’s the sweetest psychopath ever. I fucking LOVED Kendal’s growth. She went from a shy, vulnerable girl to a bad ass fucking bitch 👏🏻

Billie’s speciality is betrayal. She just knows how to write it and this story is exactly that. It’s full of secrets and double crossing people and it left me SO ANXIOUS because I just didn’t know what way it was gunna go. And as usual Billie’s steam is HAAAAWWTTT!!! God damn, Franklin knows his way around the bedroom.. or the shooting range 😉😂

Bloody loved this book and I am SO ready for Connor.. GIVE ME MY BABY PLEEEEEASE!

After meeting Reign and Franklin in the Fire duet, I couldn’t wait for the Boston Wolfes series! 😁

I’m so sorry I have to say this 😨 but at the moment I cannot connect with this story… at all. Can’t pinpoint exactly why, but it could not hold my interest and I wasn’t interested in what happened to the characters. It's probably me and NOT the book! I will re-try at another time, but for now I’ve put it aside. (No rating, because I didn't finish the book yet.)

When we were first blessed with Franklin's appearance in Catching Fire, I IMMEDIATELY knew his character was going to be hot as hell. And, he was. At first I was disappointed that we weren't going to get Reign first in the Boston Wolfes series, but I'm so glad we got the Alpha Wolfe himself first. Franklin's experience of always having his way gave him a confidence that was so hot, and his love for his younger brothers clenched my heart. The way Kendall and him first met KILLED ME, it was so funny. My badass girl bartender! Kendall's battle with herself throughout this book made me feel for her, and it was amazing to see how she grew and took back her power in the end. They were such a sweet couple.

I loved meeting the other Wolfe brothers and I am so curious for what their books are going to be about. I can't wait to read Connor's book, since he is a ruffian that doesn't open up a lot!

A more detailed review will come after book release :)

Franklin is a dark romance, standalone and book #1 in the Boston Wolfes series, although you don't need to read The Fire Duet (Franklin and Reign made an appearance in Catching Fire) I highly recommend that you do! It will give you an idea to the who the Wolfes are. The Fire Duet is one of my favorite duets and I was so excited when Billie Lustig announced that Reign and his brothers were getting their own books! Billie Lustig's writing technique captivates you; I was drawn into the story, I forgot everything around me and I was so shocked when I realized how many hours had passed. Franklin was a read that kept me up until late (or more like early hours in the morning) to finish reading it. Only a handful of authors has the ability to do this to me, Billie Lustig is one of them. With Billie Lustig's work you can predict great characters and storylines, and of course, plot twists!! And believe me, Billie creates plot twists that will catch you off guard (I certainly was). Billie's work is phenomenal! I've high hopes whenever she releases a new book, and she does not fail me! She successfully executes each book amazingly! And her author's note is one of my many highlights from this book! (Swipe to see)

A crime lord of Boston, danger oozes out of Franklin; he is a wolf in its human form. He doesn't take lightly when people betray or double cross him. Kendall (heroine) was minding her own business when her path crossed Franklin's. Kendall is aware of Franklin's reputation, she was trying to stay away from him, yet she somehow managed to get under Franklin's radar. I don't want to give any spoilers away, but basically Kendall is in a complicated situation, she doesn't know what to do. She's aware of the consequences if she goes according to plan. But she has no choice. Kendall can't seem to help herself, she's drawn to Franklin. They have an amazing chemistry, and in a way, Kendall is the only person who is able to bring Franklin down to his knees; his potential downfall.

I immensely enjoyed seeing all the Wolfe brother interact with each other! Especially, getting an insight to their characters before reading their own books.  I love Reign and Kendall's friendship they got along so well from the very moment they met! Kendall was deeply hurt by her ex boyfriend and she has certain insecurities. My gosh! Franklin! He is just too hot to handle! Especially the "shooting range" scene 🥵 And Kendall! Her character developed outstandingly! With Franklin's help she realized her self-worth and she evolved into a badass character. And let's not forget Reign, he has a special place in my heart! (So far he is my favorite Wolfe brother.) I'm so curious about Reign's book!! I loved him from The Fire duet and I was so happy when I saw little snippets in this book! It left me with so many questions! The ending!!! I'm also super excited to read Connor's book!  Overall, another great read from one of my newly favorite authors! If you love reading dark romances with quite a few plot twists and suspense, then this read is for you!

Billie Lustig is a new-ish author, and one that I had not read until a couple of weeks ago after one of her books was recommended to me by a friend. After being absolutely obsessed with her first two books, I knew I had to jump on the rest of her books as soon as possible so I would be caught up in time for her future books to drop. So obviously I had to jump on the first book in the Boston Wolfes series!
It is my understanding that each book in this series is an interconnected standalone, following each one of the brothers as they get their own HEA. This one just so happens to follow Franklin, the oldest brother and the one in charge.
When Franklin discovers that someone he works close with has betrayed his family's trust, he handles the problem, but this leaves him without an accountant which is something the Wolfes need in order to keep the money side of their organization under control. When he's told that he should contact an individual who goes by 'Kenny' who happens to work at a local bar, he sets out to get himself a new employee.
Entering the bar, he tells the bartender who he's looking for, but he understandably makes the mistake of assuming 'Kenny' is a man, rather than a woman named 'Kendall'. She almost fools him into believing the person he's looking for isn't there, but her boss unknowingly rats her out in the middle of her deception. So when Franklin offers her a job she turns him down and leaves promptly, without giving him a chance to try to change her mind.
But Franklin isn't a man who takes no for an answer so he sits in her bar every single day, until an unlucky circumstance forces Kenny to finally 'accept' Franklin's job offer. However, life isn't as easy as Kenny may think, and once an ex finds out Kenny will be working for the Wolfes he forces her to betray them and supply him with information, stating that if she doesn't her brother will pay for her mistakes.
The book continues to show Kenny trying to decide which is the lesser of two evils, because if the Wolfes find out she betrayed them she's dead but if this ex finds out she isn't doing what he wants, then her brother's dead.
Feelings between Franklin and Kenny make this decision hard for her, especially with her best friend in her ear as well.

I liked the idea of this story, but for some reason I wasn't as obsessed with this book as I was Billie's other two books. I almost feel like the book could have been a bit longer and more conflict could have been placed in it to make the feud more believable to the readers. That and the fact that it was insta-lovey and I just have a hard time falling in love with stories like that.
I don't want that to take away from the fact that this is still a three star rating for me, which is good in my eyes. Something I really enjoyed was the last few chapters. Billie had me stressing and for a hot second she had me worried that we weren't going to get an HEA and I was fully prepared to riot.
I also loved that we got to see a healthy amount of Franklin's brothers. They all intrigue me in their own way, but I definitely have my eye on Killian because that guy's intense!
I'll definitely be continuing this series, and if Billie's teasers are anything to go on, the next book will definitely be H O T!

In The Wolfes Territory
4.5 stars
They say I’m ruthless and severe. That I have no mercy for those who piss me off. It’s true.

We’re introduced to the Wolfe’s in Billie Lustig’s first duet, The Fire Duet, but in Franklin, we really meet the Wolfe brothers. We knew more about Reign than Franklin from the start, so you’d think the first book of the Boston Wolfes would be of Reign, but no no, it’s Franklin, and I couldn’t have loved it more.

Starting with Franklin’s story, we get a better understanding of the tension between the two brothers, and then how the rest of them all work as a whole, and with Franklin being at the helm of it.

With him being the oldest, he’s obviously the alpha. And what an alpha he is! This man is dangerous; he’s confident and gets what he wants, no one says no to him. They don't have the option to say no to him. I love his dominant side but also his caring side, you see that with Kendall, and you see that with his brothers.

Oohh Kendall, I LOVED this girl. She’s got herself in a sticky situation, but the girl knows what she’s doing, even if it may not seem like it. She’s got a good head on her shoulders AND she tells Franklin no. Gotta love her for that.

I loved the instant spark between them. We get to see how Franklin opens up Kendall in a new way, he treats her like a Queen when all she has been treated as was like garbage, being manipulated by the one person she thought she loved. These two can get intense, but that creates for some explosive moments.

Billie Lustig knows how to throw in those plot twists and while I did guess it, it still made it epic with how the conflict went down. But MAN, was there some questioning. And I knew I loved Reign in Catching Fire, but I think he’s now like the loml cause he’s just so damn precious. The bond he formed with Kendall was amazing. Forever a Billie fan. You want some light mafia? Read this now!

Billie is definitely a one-click author for me👆🏻Franklin is everything I want from a mafia romance AND MORE. The story is written in dual perspectives, so we get to see from the eyes of Franklin and Kendall. I was hooked from page one, you’ll know why😏 When I thought Kane Carrillo was the hottest crime lord ever, Franklin Wolfe came and snatched the 🥇slot from him. That said, Reign will always have my heart cause he is just so lovable, smart and humorous😍 Of course, we also have the beefy Connor and the handsome Killian.

We get to know a bit about Reign in The Fire Duet. If you love him already then, you’ll only love him more after reading Franklin. Before I get carried away, let’s talk about the chemistry between Franklin and Kendall. The flirting, the sex, the plot...they are the definition of a power couple. While Franklin is known to be ruthless and emotionless 99% of the time, we see another side of him when he is with Kendall - warm, protective and romantic. He says some of the sweetest things and they just make me weak in the knees.

Not only does Kendall bring out the best in Franklin, so does he. Kendall goes from a scared, hurt, manipulated business student to becoming a strong, bold, sassy queen. Her change is incredible, particularly when she learns to communicate and trust again. The dynamics among the Wolfe brothers and them with Kendall is🤌🏻 Franklin is honestly such a well-thought-out masterpiece, the storyline is enthralling. There is more to the Wolfe brothers and I am dying to know what happens. Now I’ll have to sit tight and wait for the rest of the series🤓

I promise you’ll love Franky and Kenny.

Franklin is the first book in a brand new series by Billie Lustig. After I read catching fire I was really intrigued with Reign, his brothers and their business. Since Reign had such a big role in that story I thought the first book in the Boston Wolfes series would be about him but it's actually the story of his older brother Franklin.

If you like mafia romance, secrets and steam you should definitely give this book a try. I really liked the beginning, how they met and how he was the one doing the chasing because he needed her. Kenny, knowing his reputation is a bit reticent about having anything to do with him in the beginning but she soon surrenders to his charms. I mean who wouldn't?!!

The plot was really straightforward and simple, without too much angst, which is not something I mind. What didn't work for me though was the turn the book took a couple of chapters in, that type of plot is not my favorite at all and I feel like I read it many times before, so to me it was a bit predictable. Kenny really frustrated me so I was never really able to connect with her. I'm glad she came around at the end but at that point I was like why did it take you so long?!!! Franklin was pretty great and they had a lot of chemistry and steamy moments which is definitely a plus.

I love the brothers' relationship and how they are always there for one another and I really look forward to knowing more of their story, that ending left me really curious. Even though the plot wasn't really my cup of tea, Billie's writing as usual is really amazing and I think this can be the perfect book to someone who is getting into the mafia genre since it's lighter in the dark scale.

Why are we drawn to these bad boys? I will tell you why, they are always interesting, they are loyal to a fault and they have the hearts of teddy bears. Don’t think I am right? Well, in romance land they sure do. After reading the duet I knew the Boston Wolfes would be great and right up my alley. You may think this will be a dark book but it was not that dark in case you are worried. Yes they are criminals and yes they do some bad things, but like I said before, teddy bears. Boy does Franklin fall and fall hard. The “I will make you bend to my way” does not always work with Kendall and Franklin has to fight for what he wants. Love that in stories. Nothing easy, you must win each other over. An amazing story from this fairly new author.

So glad Reign is getting his own story. He is such a sweetie and I loved him in the last book. The other brothers sound like they are also in for the ride of their lives with the women they end up with.

I received an arc in exchange for an honest review

This book follows Franklin, the oldest brother of the Boston Wolfes and Kendall, who starts working for him as an accountant. If you have already read Catching Fire, and you definitely should, you have already met Reign, the youngest of the brothers.

I absolutely loved this new world and the new characters that Billie introduced us to in this story. This book made me anxious, in a good way, most of the time while I was reading it because it found the perfect mixture between romance, intrigue, and fun. The chemistry between Franklin and Kendall was amazing and it was a joy to see their relationship develop and grow. It was also fun to meet all the Wolfe brothers and to learn more about them and see their connections.

This was the perfect start for the series and I am so excited to read about Connor and all the other brothers soon.

Franklin is the eldest of the 4 Wolfe brothers, he rules Boston with Ruthlessness, when he goes looking for a new accountant he comes across Kendal who works at a bar he is instantly drawn to her, he soon discovers shes the ones he's looking for, Kendal refuses but Franklin doesn't plan on giving her up. There's more to Kendal than meets the eye, she escaped her abusive ex Emerson once, now he is blackmailing her to get information on his enemy the Wolfe brothers.
Can she really betray Franklin? The man whose taking over her heart and treating her right. What will Franklin do when he learns Kendals truths?
This is book 1 in a new series, (though we have already met Reign Wolfe) and what a great start! Filled with desires, suspense, twists, action, violence, and steamy hot scenes. The well written story line keeps your attention and the characters draw you in and leave you wanting more!

Where do I even begin....

First Billie Lustig is an absolute writing goddess. I mean in every book you can expect to experience a rush of emotions. this books has steam, romance, alpha male personality, and violence.

This book had me super anxious towards some of the events that had happened and what was going to happen. It really was a rollercoaster of emotions.

Franklin and Kendall show you just how much true love proves to be a huge role in this book.

The angst that was presented within both Franklin and Kendall, the unknown of what was being kept hidden and what was known, went to prove the love they have for each other will always overcome any situation brought in their direction.

I cannot wait to read the rest of the Boston Wolfes series. Hoping we will continue to see the relationship bloom a little more within in Franklin's brothers books.

I was so excited for this book. After seeing a glimpse of Franklin in Catching Fire I was so ready for him, and Billie didn’t disappoint with him. The tough crime lord and the meek bartender, they didn’t seem like they would fit, but they are amazing. I love everything about them together, their chemistry is just off the charts. Then you add in all the other characters and I might have had a running commentary with myself about this book, the entire time I was reading it. I found myself thinking of creative ways to hurt Emerson and decided I just didn’t like Josie, and for good reason. There are so many elements to this book that held my attention and I was sad to see it end. However, I can’t wait for Connor now and to see how his situation turns out. I would definitely recommend this book!

Thanks to Lustig, I am questioning if it's would really be THAT bad to date the mafia. I might die, but damn, it would be a good time.

Can I just say I love a man who can own a room with nothing more than a look and quiet strength? They're lethal but without having to whip out their 'power' at every opportunity. Franklin was a different type, and I am 100% here for it from his first scene with Kendall at the bar. Honestly, I'm in full-on Wolfe fangirl mode for the whole quartet despite all the violence, chaos, and criminal activity that come with the territory.

As to Franklin and Kendall, they had the kind of chemistry Lustig writes so damn well! It jumped off the page and sucked me in. I loved Kendall's journey to find her own strength and how Franklin didn't just protect her, but gave her the means to protect herself. That shoots range scene was literal fire.

This is a well written book with a cast of strong characters centering on Franklin and Kendall. They have an instant and powerful chemistry with tons of steam. I loved watching them come together and the way he treats and encourages her. It's a great mafia romance with perfectly painted scenes, moves fluidly and has me looking forward to the next book. Highly recommend this book/series.

My first book by Billie, and I loved it! I love alpha men's they always go for what they want, and Franklin is no disappointed; he is ruthless and scary but sexy as hell.
I was thrilled the story take by surprise, no at all was expecting, this book is so good and hot. I highly recommend it.
Now I need all your books, Billie Lustig, ❤️❤️

I was so excited to hear there would be a story about the Wolfe family, after meeting Reign briefly in Catching Fire (and subsequently claiming him as my new book boyfriend).

Franklin is Reign’s older brother and the leader of the pack (pun intended). The Boston Wolfes series started off with a bang (pun also intended) with Kendall and Franklin and I can’t wait to read the rest of the series!

Decent story 4.5⭐️

Good storyline. Nice surprising twists. Some angst. Good character building. Medium world building. The chemistry between Franklin and Kendall was good. Solid book.🔥🔥🔥.5/5
