Checkered Crime
Love love love this author!! Her stories have so much to offer. Heart, fun, mystery, and just plain good to read! Poor Laurel grew up an orphan and due to some circumstances got a reputation for being a little bit of a con. She’s trying to do right and get rid of it but it just seems that she is getting in over her head when she is mistaken for a cab driver and ends up in the middle of mobs and fbi and crazy stuff. Enjoy!

Excellent first series books
I haven't quite finished this entire set yet because I had to go and start reading the entire series of Campers Mysteries before I started the next one. However Tonya knows how to keep the reader interested without rambling. I really enjoyed it enough to buy the next few Camper mystery books! I felt like I was there with Mae West in Normal. These are the kinds of books I enjoy.

Mystery Central
I liked most of the stories in this compilation, some more than some. Some, especially the final story were laugh out loud reading with larger than life heroines. The paranormal stories were different (nice different) from the norm and held my attention. All credit to the author that I read all the pages of every one of the books, each book was able to stand on its own.

Cozy Mystery Collection
Every story in this collection was an enjoyable read. Ms, Kappes has away of pulling you Into the story and you really get to know the characters. It’s fun to “hear” the local dialect. I look forward to reading more in the series she posted.

Great books
Each book left me wanting more of the characters, but once I got into the next one, wow. Each one was unique, and amazing in its own right, Tonya Lapped is one talented writer

Cozy collection
I loved the stories and the characters but hon, you need a proof reader. Especially the witches story. Between spellcheck and auto correct the darn computer did it's own thing. So sorry. Lol

Awesome mystery collection
These books were interesting. They kept me intrigued to find out who was the murderer. I would recommend reading not only these books but the ones that come in the series after each on.

Excellent set of stories of all types- contemporary to fantasy - with a common theme of mystery running through them. Hard to put down. Hope there will be another one soon!

Really nice box set
This set introduced me to this author and getting a taste of her style. The first book in several series lets you explore which ones you want to read. Excellent!!

Not impressed
Not an enjoyable read for me. The occasional humor was not enough to keep me interested or entertained. Due to the completely unrealistic stories, it was a struggle to continue reading. Too much fantasy for me.

Teen level. Bad grammar drives me crazy and these books are full of bad grammar but I guess youngsters need something to read and won't notice the bad grammar as schools no longer teach correct grammar (or spelling for that matter). These books are definitely at a teen level.

Kept me on my toes!
Was tooootally not expecting hardly anything in this series. Glad I chose to read them. Now, I'm itching to read on into the next in all these firsts.

A great sampler to give you an idea of Ms Kappes' cozy mysteries. They're not interconnected, so I've reviewed each one separately. I liked some of them better than others, which is only to be expected, as there's everything from your traditional cozy coffee shop mystery to a witchy supernatural one.
One downside is the number of typos I kept stumbling over. Not horrendously so, but noticeable.
