After reading this book, I was able to better understand the group behavior of animals.
Like humans, all animals, including wolves, rabbits, monkeys, birds, and fish, live in groups, each with an important role to play, and they instinctively know this.
We humans also have the characteristic of acting in groups, starting with our families, then expanding our range of activities to local communities, schools, and companies.
Teamwork is very important for wild animals that behave in groups. And when we adopt animals as pets, we need to consider if they are the type to act collectively.
Important LIne(Page 25): They should never be kept alone as pets.
This nonfiction book is lovely and full of quick facts about animal teams. The animals teams include common starling, black-capped squirrel monkey, gray wolf, leaf-cutter ant, pacific sardine, and European rabbit. They also included a page to talk about more team animals - bottlenose dolphin, western honeybee, Bornean orangutan, yellow seahorse, and jaguar. It was too texty for storytime, so I focused on the main paragraph with information.
This book is jam packed with information about the lives of starlings, monkeys, wolves, ants, sardines, and rabbits. Each group of animals works together for their survival. There are more facts and a glossary in the back of the book as well as information about a few other groups of animals that support each other in different ways.
Engaging collection of facts highlighting the collaborative nature of various animal teams. The combination of illustrations and photographs adds visual appeal for young readers. Back matter includes glossary and index, but no bibliography. Animals featured: Common starling Black-capped squirrel monkey Gray wolf Leaf-cutter ant Pacific sardine European rabbit
