Discover the secrets of prayer for healing and inner peace. This is a book about prayer—but not the kind of prayer that you are probably familiar with. It is a book about prayer that will teach you how to get in touch with the universe and communicate with Spirit.
It is a book that will initiate you into a new way of being, one that will incorporate the wisdom of the ages. José Luis Stevens will lead you on a spiritual path that covers the entire range of human experience, from gratitude, worship, and celebration to grief, guilt, affliction, supplication, and suffering. This incredibly potent spiritual practice is one of humankind’s most ancient and enduring activities and is as prevalent today as it was thousands of years ago.
Building on his decades of training and teaching in the shamanic tradition, Stevens offers a complete guide to this universal, transformative practice in How to Pray the Shaman’s Way. This book is not only an in-depth exploration of prayer as an innate human phenomenon but also a practical guide for initiating or deepening your own rich prayer practice. Packed with inspired prayers that can be adapted for many different traditions, this book is a deep dive into the world of personal transformation, healing, and spiritual guidance.
If you believe in prayer get this book. If you don’t, still get this book.
I am always a fan of this writer’s articles I read on the newsletter called the Power Path. I often pass on his articles to friends and family as they seem to resonate quite deeply with me and this book does the same. I just feel it’s truth! Highly recommended!
As it’s said at the end, the info is not new. But how the power of prayer is presented is inspiring and enlightening. It gave me new ways to connect with Spiritual practice.
This is a fascinating and immersive read that left me genuinely moved. The blend of spiritual themes with accessible storytelling makes it stand out as the words feel both ancient and deeply personal at the same time.
The pacing is excellent for the most part, and there are moments of real beauty that linger long after you’ve finished. It does get a little repetitive in places, which slows the momentum, but never enough to lose interest.
Overall this is a memorable and meaningful work that I’d recommend to anyone curious about shamanic traditions or spiritual journeys. Well worth your time.
Like the author, I was raised in a Catholic household and have some of the same questions about praying. Studying shamanism and other indigenous cultures I have found How to Pray the Shaman's Way a very refreshing voice on the idea of praying. It is as I have always felt prayer comes from the heart and when you pray from the heart Spirit hears you. I highly recommend this book!
This is more akin to manifesting than to petitioning a higher power. Maybe aligning ourselves with the grace that is always available. Worth the price of admission for the chapter on Advanced Prayer Techniques alone.
Some very nice insights into the nature of prayer, I definitely enjoyed the wide cultural variety of prayer philosophies presented in this book. Next I am diving into Dr. Stevens’ AWAKEN THE INNER SHAMAN.
For a dyslexic reader I found this book to be written in a simple yet effective way. I might have to read it again as I can't remember it all. Absolutely perfect book at a perfect time. Thank you
Sometimes I surprise myself by reading books like this even though I am atheist. I think this book offers a lot of helpful practices for meditation and recommend it from that perspective.
There are allot of conflicting comments in the book as a Christian this bothered me. God is the creator the one the only leave other idols out I won’t read again thanks for sharing
