I have tried and tried to get into this story but I give up on chapter 4 at 13%. The prologue showed promise but from chapter 1 on it is PAINFULLY slow. Absolutely nothing has happened of ANY interest at all. 3 chapter's of describing the FMC with very mundane and boring things. Her walking or shaking hands with someone. Her looking over her shoulder. And his 'Unexplainable' attraction to her. Thoughts and mundane boring words that go no where. I give up. It's a DNF for me.
Mission: Impossible to Resist by Jacki Delecki grabbed my attention from the first page and I loved every exciting page of this suspense filled romance.
Jordan Dean is an amazing young woman who has made her own mark in the world without her billionaire father's help. I admired Jordan and appreciated her gritty determination and kick @ss attitude. Aidan Foster is a seasoned warrior with Delta Force who is now taking the time to reevaluate his life. As a favor to a friend, he steps in as a bodyguard to Jordan temporarily. It seems becomes a permanent position as Jordan's life explodes with kidnapping, gunfire and repeated threats on those she loves. The plot was fast paced and filled with edge of the seat action, hot and sexy times and a thrilling conclusion. Ms. Delecki never disappoints and I always look forward to a new book.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. All of the above opinions are my own.
Aidan Foster is a badass Delta Force warrior who's taking some time to think about his life and the direction he wants to take it when a friend asks him to step in as security detail for Jordan Dean, a scientist who's the daughter of a billionaire father, but doesn't rely on said father for anything, least of all love or support. When the two meet, sparks are flying all over the place, and suddenly Aidan is thinking his life just might be going the way he wants. But, he'll have to be his Delta Force best when Jordan's sister is kidnapped and threats are coming at them faster than they can comprehend.
I love romantic suspense when done well, meaning the suspense is balanced nicely with the romance, and Mission: Impossible to Resist has that balance down perfectly. It's thrilling, with lots of action and suspense and mystery, but the romance and relationship doesn't take a backseat to any of the action and suspense. Mission: Impossible to Resist is really well written, steamy, action-packed, and has a fabulous cast of leads and secondary characters. I am looking forward to lots more from this series and this author!

This is a thriller, a suspenseful book, but yet Aiden🐺🔪🔫 and Jordan💃💋 come to depend on and care💘 for each other as everything goes haywire around them.
I won this e-book in the Goodreads giveaway ,this review is 100% my own.
I don't enjoy writing harsh reviews but i'm gonna be honest and say that I didn't really care for this book,it was a real struggle to finish it ,i mean it felt like i had been reading this book forever, the characters are only ok and i never felt a connection to them or the story ,the writing felt a bit disjointed and like there were missing pages , i usually like books like this but i wasn't hooked ,i doubt i will read any of the other books in this series ,i might try Finn's book but not anytime soon .
Jordan is kinda a whiny character ,i mean her sister gets taken and Aiden is there to keep her safe but she pretty much does whatever she can to make that impossible , i mean this is his job and he knows what he's doing but she refuses to listen and it really annoyed me .
Aiden is kinda the typical alpha but he just doesn't do anything for me ,i usually swoon over the hero but he's just kinda blah ,i didn't sense any chemistry between him and Jordan ,the banter between them was just kinda off ,i didn't care for them as a couple or as characters .
Mission: Impossible to Resist is a romance drama story. Jordan is from a wealthy family but chose to forge her own path in life. Now, she is a world class medical scientist with a major medical breakthrough discovery. Her sister Sophie is kidnapped. Jordan teams up with bodyguard Aidan to find Sophie and shenanigans begin. The two have a connection that's steamy and tense. They work well together in an entertaining way. Both characters are realistic and likeable and complex. The interaction and dialogue between them is great. It's a well written story that unfolds smoothly at a steady pace. The ending is major girl power which is awesome. I enjoyed the story even though it's not the sort of thing I usually read. I'm glad I tried something different. Thanks to NetGalley for an arc in exchange for an honest review.
An adrenaline rush! I was hooked from the first page with situations becoming more intense as each pages turned. The sensual tension between this couple is palpable from the start, their banter is engaging and their teamwork heartwarming under stressful circumstances. The characters are all believable and you really get invested in their stories. The situations are thrilling and keep you on tenterhooks throughout the book. You have to love strong, intelligent female characters and the stronger males that appreciate and love them. I’m looking forward to the next book in this series as I can’t get enough of the characters!
Aiden's thoughts tend to sort of being a typical male but then again not so much, "...those da*n high heels. What was she thinking, wearing those shoes? She’d never be able to run away from an abductor in those things." Aiden knows how to put priorities in order, “honey, I didn’t say I’d forget. Nothing is going to make me forget. I only agreed to put our ‘thing,’ as you labeled our intimate time, on the back burner until this is finished.” I liked this book, I loved Aiden.
4.5 Stars Mission: Impossible to Resist is the first book in a new series and my first read by Jacki Delecki and what an amazing introduction it was. This edge of your seat thriller with it fabulous cast and well written storyline had me engaged throughout. I will definitely be reading many more books by this author

***ARC was provided to me for a fair and honest review***
Overall rating: 3.5/5 falling for the bodyguard story. pg-13 until the end.
Heroine (Jordan Dean): 4/5 a billionaire’s daughter who would rather be in her lab studying stem cells than at parties for the rich. Red hair, somewhere in her late twenties or early thirties.
Hero (Aiden Foster): 4/5 An elite military unit member who has seen enough death and wishes to live a quieter life. He’s a temporary bodyguard for Jordan Dean.
Plot: 3/5 Jordan’s sister is kidnapped and Aiden is her only protection as they go into hiding while the ransom is paid. Can Jordan and Aiden figure out why her sister was taken? Is Jordan the next target? Will they be able to keep their hands off each other and keep things professional?
Personal Review: Even though Jordan has ex military guards I like how she helped rescue herself in the end. She’s not a helpless damsel, she’s a scientist and her head bodyguard taught her to defend herself from a young age.
I wish the action scenes had a little bit more action. For intense they go to a club following a lead but Aiden thinks someone is watching them so they leave. Nothing happens, they just leave. It’s odd for a book with such a strong opening action scene. The author knows how to write action well, so the club scene did nothing for the plot except let Aiden and Jordan share another kiss.
Overall it was an enjoyable read and a good start to the series. I can’t wait to read what Finn and Sophie get up to in the next book.
I received this book as an ARC for a voluntary and honest review. It is the first book of a series, which appear to be able to be read as stand alone novels. Fast paced, you are hit with danger very quickly in the book, and that builds through out. The clues were there and I was somewhat correct in my suspension. Synopsis, is Jordan Dean is in genetic research but the daughter of a billionaire. Her sister is kidnapped, they think because of their father, but that turns out to be not true. Aiden Foster is assigned to her security as a favor to his friend when her normal detail is sick. The alpha male Delta Force member is trained for danger and is very good for spotting it. 4 vs 5 stars for the following reasons. 1) Jordan frustrated me a lot, Aiden is looking out for her safety but she is constantly questioning his plan or changing it putting them in more danger. 2) Glocks do not have a manual safety like a Smith and Wesson, Glocks have trigger safeties. The author did enough research to know that Versed will alleviate some of the symptoms of ketamine, and what each medal which Aiden has received means, but didn't research her weapons. That's a huge pet peeve, because there is enough weapons misconceptions out there. All in all I did enjoy the book, and figure there are at least 3 more based upon clues at the end, and they'll be added to my interested list.
Jordan Dean could have sat on the sidelines of life, been the dutiful, socialite daughter. But sh and her sister are made of sterner stuff. Jordan is a mega brain and caring heart wrapped in a beautiful shell. Her sister, Sophie, well she hasn't met something she couldn't rebel against! It's always been the two of them against the world - well their father at least!
When her security team is shortstaffed her childhood friend Finn asks a favour of a Delta Force buddy. He only has to fill in while Finn looks after Jordan's father in Hong Kong. But things get perilous quickly. Jordan's usual head of security, who she treats as a devoted uncle, is injured, her sister kidnapped and Finn...well he is a bit tied up.
Aiden was willing to bet that his new charge was an uppity madame. But Jordan is a breath of fresh air. There are sparks between them but Jordans safety has to be put first. And for such a HUUUUGE man Aiden can blend into the background like a chameleon when he has to.
There was a great mix of action/adventure and romance. Jordan is clearly used to looking after her sister cos her father is useless! There are plenty of twists and turns to keep you guessing. Sophie does come across as a bit of a rebel and wild child but she seems to have a good heart. Looking forward to more in this series!
This is a thrill ride from the very first page not only do you have a wonderful romance growing between our two characters you have enough suspense and drama to have you turning the pages as quick as you can This is a book that you won't want to put down until you turn that last page

Be prepared for a thrilling ride as you bounce from one drama to the next with this kickass romantic thriller
I was given a copy of this book but this is true and honest review
This was a hard one for me. Because the writing is good, but one very big flaw kept me from enjoying the book. Every time I read a book that is mostly Caucasian characters and one Asian character, that Asian character is always depicted in a negative light- as a dragon lady stereotype or villainous yet so beautiful she's evil. This bums me out. Maybe I'm not reading the books that have Asian side characters that aren't a stereotype. But the last handful of books I've read where the main characters are white and there's a side character who is an Asian female, this Asian female is always depicted in a negative light. Sigh.
If this is not a big deal for you, you'll probably love the book. I had such high hopes until I read this. I'm sure it wasn't on purpose, but why aren't writers, agents, and editors catching this? It's obviously a stereotype that is in one's subconscious as I continually read it. And it's not being caught. So while I hate giving ratings that are lower than saying I liked it - as I usually like most of the books I read- this one just wasn't for me. And I recognize it's a personal subjective opinion. But one I hope helps readers and the author understand why I had an issue with it.
My thanks to the author for the ARC of Mission: Impossible to Resist. This review is voluntary, independent and uncompensated. I admit, this isn't my favorite Jacki Delecki novel. Her Regency Code Breakers series is The Bomb, and I liked those of her Grayce Walters series that I've read. She writes killah romantic suspense -but this one isn't her best. I liken it to a house fire - it sparks and S_L_O_W_L_Y smolders and smokes, until about halfway through. Then, FWOOSH - the whole thing bursts into flame and just burns up the pages till the end. A clever and devious kidnapping plot, a love story that moves likable characters from chilly frenemies to firecracker-hot lovers, and a most satisfying resolution to the crime and the romance are definite upsides to the book, but it just takes a while to get there. Impatient and persnickety readers (like me) will find the early repetitive and slow build-up frustrating; persistent and determined ones (like me) will find the pay-off worth the wait. Call it three stars but still a promising start to a new series.
This is a fast paced, gripping story that is full of drama, suspense and romance. Aidan is bold, tough, passionate and determined. Jordan is tough, smart, stubborn and caring. Aidan plays bodyguard to Jordan as a favor for a friend, he wasn't expecting trouble. Then Jordan's sister gets kidnapped, and he has to fight to get her to do what he needs her to do to protect her. He also wasn't expecting to be captivated by her, but he is, dangerously so. Jordan is devastated when her sister disappears, and wants to go after her. She isn't pleased when Aidan asserts himself and starts telling her what to do. She wants him to go away, so she doesn't have to listen to him, and doesn't need to constantly fight her attraction to him. While they are on the run, things get personal, and neither of them is prepared for the profound feelings that sleeping together produces. Both the storyline and the attraction between Aidan and Jordan are exciting and intense. I couldn't put it down.
This is the first book by Jacki Delecki that I have read and I loved it. Jordan is smart capable sweet woman, who spends her life protecting her sister Sophie and doing her scientifc research. Aiden is asked by her lifelong friend Finn, to be her body guard fro a week when her regular team get sick with the flu. Jordan is not intimidated by Aiden and it does not take Aiden long to realize Jordan is not a spoiled socialite.
So much happening in the book, from a mean gold digging woman (dating Jordan's father), hot sexy ex-military guys, betrayal, theft, kidnapping and gangs all in a very suspenseful well written story. I am excited to read the next book about Finn and Sophie.
I was never captivated by the characters. I didn't really care what happened to them or in the story. It was a very slow read with lots of missing words. Finally about half way through the book, I started skipping, it just got longer and longer. I can usually finish a book like this in a few hours, this took weeks. I kept reading something else in between because it was so slow and not holding my interest. Definitely not going to keep or read again. Not sure about reading more of this author either.
I really enjoyed this book. I was expecting Aiden to come across as a hardnosed, damaged, military type like in most books. While he is all business when he needs to be, he is surprising relaxed at other times and chatty and partakes in witty banter at times. It was a refreshing change.
I liked Jordan as well but I did find it strange that she was unable to see why people would be after her research. Even I understood the potential of that research. I’m not sure how real it is, but as described, it made sense that people would be after it.
The book is fast paced with a lot of action. It is really enjoyable. But there is one scene I would have liked in the book. At one point, Jordan meets Aiden’s former fiancé who totally disses her as a nobody. As this woman totally seems to be all about society and status, I would have loved to have a scene near the end that tied up the loose ends in which she and Jordan meet again at that welcome home party Aiden’s mom wanted to throw. One where she finds out just who Jordan was and how she had dissed such a wealthy and important family in general and person in particular.
Aside from that little bit of revenge I wanted to see, it was a great story and I can easily recommend it.
This story is a thrill ride from beginning to end. Delta Operator Aiden Foster has seen more than one man should see during his time deployed. Now, he is helping out his good friend and acting as a bodyguard to Jordan Dean. Jordan is a beautiful and wealthy scientist who is working on research that could be of enormous benefit to the medical community. When her younger sister, Sophie, is abducted, a ransom request is received. Jordan is told to deliver the ransom in Hong Kong, but her father refuses to allow her to take the risk. As various attempts are made towards Jordan, Aiden continues to do all that he can to keep her safe. During this time, the attraction between Jordan and Aiden is heightened as they fight to elude those that are after them. When Jordan is kidnapped, Aiden realizes that Jordan and her research was the target all along. Can Aiden find Jordan and Sophie before it is too late? Ms. Delecki does an excellent job of increasing the suspense as we reach the thrilling conclusion. I look forward to reading the next book in this series. I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to give an honest review. (by paytonpuppy)
This was non stop action as Aiden and Jordan tried to figure out who kidnapped her sister and stay safe themselves as they investigated. Now, Aiden wanted to keep Jordan safe and protect her but of course, Jordan wanted to "help" by finding out who would kidnap her sister.
Most of their searching was wasted time and only put them in danger, it kind of annoyed me that Jordan would not listen to Aiden and insisted on going out and putting them in danger. When she forced Aiden to take her to the mentor's house, I wanted to smack some sense into her - even if she thought she was safe - what if she was traced there? She would not only be putting herself in danger but her dear friend.
I did like that at the end, the three women planned and executed their escape by themselves!! I am looking forward to the next book with Finn and Sophie - that should be interesting! I also hope we see more of Danni.
I purchased this as part of a bundle called The Mission Impossible Series: Books 1-3
Packed with so much action and suspense it was heart pounding. Not just a few scenes, but many that I lost count.
I felt a connection to the strong alpha H and the h has the same qualities. When was the last time you read a book where the h didn't need someone to save her. Granted the H has talents in military tactics, but she isn't a weak women. She knows how to defend herself and has strong opinions, but not the kind to earn her a witch label. The H is hired as her bodyguard as a favor to another military person. This had so many layers to it you will not be bored.
There is lovemaking outside of marriage, heat level 5 out of 5 and described not until 3/4 ways through. Not drawn out for pages, but the bedroom door is wide open. I found it filled with passion, but that is such a personal feeling.
No cheating, no cliffhanger, violence, romance builds slowly, HEA and steam. (ljb)
Brilliant socialite Dr. Jordan Dean, comes from wealth, loves her research career, helped raise her younger sister, and accomplished all this without the love of her father. Since her mother died, she and her sister were watched over, guided and loved by their Uncle Harry. Because the family guards against possible harm, there seems to be protection at every turn. Then, younger sister, Sophie, is kidnapped and the intensity began with every possible Special Ops, SEAL and Security was on alert to find her and those that would bring harm to the family. Aiden was one of the guards working for Uncle Harry and working 24/7 to protect Jordan. The plot thickens; the guns blaze and tears fall in this story-line and I loved every minute of the book. It's a great mystery/romance/thriller for adults.
This story was like quicksand; it sucked me under and wouldn’t let go. It’s not like I struggled very hard to escape it, though. Aiden and Jordan were immediately captivating. It didn’t take much for me to love Aiden. I am a sucker for a military hero, after all. I adored Jordan. She’s brilliant and spunky while at the same time has this deep need to please the family around her that I really connected with. Her need to do everything Her Way in spite of the many professionals telling her that might not be the best option rubbed me the wrong way. But watching her curb those tendencies allowed me to quickly work past my irritation. I especially liked seeing how vulnerable Aiden gets with Jordan. And the closing scene of their story was of particular enjoyment to me. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author.
Mission: Impossible to Resist (Impossible Mission Romantic Suspense Series Book 1) by Jacki Delecki
This was a new author to me but this story grabbed me from the first chapter til the last. Strong sexy alpha men and even stronger yet vulnerable female characters will have you turning pages to see what will happen next. The journey between Jordan and Aiden is filled with plot twists and Romance that will make the characters come alive. You will feel the characters as they figure out what road to take and how they will travel it. This is one of those books that you wont be able to put down and will have you looking up the author to see what other books she has out. Definitely now have some new books on my TBR list. Cant wait to read what comes from this author next.
I loved the characters of this book. When you think of a Bad@$$ special ops officer you might imagine Aidan but he is so much more, he is also caring, funny, and has a soft side what he is also discovering. Jordan is also more than you would imagine. Being the daughter of a billionaire you might not think she is also a very talented scientist trying to make the world a better place, she cares deeply for those around her, and is never rude. But these two together was amazing. I love the back and forth. Plus the action and suspense kept the book going all the way. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Yeah she's not a practicing doc but does some extreme medical research, she also comes from a very wealthy family and looking after her younger sister after their mothers death, with an emotionally estranged father. Our male lead is a sergeant major in delta force, taking a break after a mission gone bad and helping out a buddy by guarding her. There were quite a few 'no way!' moments, and just as many editing mistakes. Overall it was just another client/ bodyguard falling for one another in super fast time and declaring their love for each other. Found it free.
This story’s blurb promised it to be a thrill ride and it did not disappoint ! The descriptive writing made you feel like you were there viewing the whole thing. I adored Aiden and Jordan’s chemistry and their trajectory on finding out how to come out the shells they had put themselves in. I did think some of the scenes where Aiden kept lamenting his lust for her got a little overdone and though I credit the author for not using the f-bomb too terribly much, it was still present, which turns me off tremendously. This is one adventure you will need seatbelts for as the action rarely stops and the climax was perfect! I especially loved the epilogue!
Suspense and ex-military is all I need to see to read a book. This is my first foray into Ms. Delecki’s contemporary romances and it was very nice. It took me a while to get into the story but once I did, it went flying by at warp speed. I loved the suspense part of the story. For me, the story is more about the suspense with little hints of romance. Aiden and Jordan were always skirting around the sexual tension and honestly it made for a nice read. Definitely need to check out the next book about Finn and Sophie.
I received a complimentary copy from the publisher through NetGalley.
