The red guy. Again. Emry thought she was done with alien Romeos who made promises and then ditched you, but their paths continued to cross. What’s a girl to do when the same guy keeps turning up like a bad penny?Steal his ship The wrong thing for the right reason. Four years ago, Ren made the mistake of choosing duty above his mate, a fragile human female unsuited for his toxic planet. He sent her away and has searched for her ever since. Now fate has brought them back together. She might have stolen his ship and abandoned him, but he won’t let her get away a second time. The chase is on. Ren is a stand alone story with second chances and a hard won HEA. No cheating because we're not here for that.
Nancey writes fun, fast and flirty scifi romances featuring feisty heroines and out-of-this-world heros. Nancey lives in an old house with her husband and two cats who have complaints with management. When she’s not writing, she enjoys video games, horror movies and anything involving time travel.
Loved Ren's story. He and Emry definitely got off on the wrong foot. He sent her back to Earth because his warlord at the time was a bully and said human women were too weak. He was the runt of the group and always a convenient scapegoat for the warlord. Ren was sure Emry would be in danger if he completed the mating and she stayed with him. Emry was sure it was her disfigured face that Ren couldn't take. She was being returned like a defective package and would probably be rematched and sent off again to another Mahdfel warrior. Ren agreed to keep that from happening by giving her a matebite, then sending her home.
I don't want to ruin the story for you so I will just say that they meet again and this time Ren fights for her - literally. He didn't know why she would want to give him a second chance, but he is willing to take it. Emry, though, has an ulterior motive. Her sister is missing and she needs help to find her and get her back. But that is not the only reason she is glad to see Ren. She is not sure about the cat though....
I was given an advanced copy of this book by the author. My review is voluntary.
Maybe jumping in on book 11 is not the best plan. There were some interesting things about the aliens and the mating program. Overall it was okay. My favorite thing was that the feline is named Murder Mittens.
Fans of this genre will enjoy Emry and Ren’s story, I know I did. It's not only a fated mate story it's a second chance one as well because these two found each other but Ren sent her away on the orders of his clan leader. That's something he's regretted every day since because when they were together his life was more than just duty.
But then fate seemed to smile on him because when on yet another mission for the clan Emry his mate and he meet again. Even though she now wants nothing to do with him he's determined to not let her get away from him this time around. But then she steals his ship to escape forcing him to choose what's more important to him, his feelings for her or his duty. Will they be able to work things out and have a future together?
The story is well written, I loved the characters, even the crazy cat, and enjoyed going along on their rollercoaster journey, which was full of action, drama and adventure it included highs and lows and was at times funny enough to make me laugh out loud and at others was so sad. I have no hesitation in recommending this book to any fans of this genre.
This book was fabulous I loved Emry and Ren’s story it was heartbreaking, sad, funny, crazy, action, adventure, drama and so really good laugh out loud moments and the cat was amazing. Emry is sick of being rejected by men who think they are better than everyone else, when she is matched to Ren she thought her luck was changing but he rejected her and sent her away. Ren has always put his duty to his clan before everything else but when he was matched to his human mate Emry things started to change but then the clan leader forced him to give up the weak human and send her away and he did and he regrets this every day. While on a mission for the clan he runs into his mate again and she doesn’t want anything to do with him but he cannot let her go again and when she steals his ship to get away from him he must choose what he wants more. Can they work things out and have a future together or not.
Really enjoyed this book! Ren and Emry were matched to be mates but only had two days together before Ren sent her back to Earth for what he believed was her own good at the time. They never got to know each other or explore what they could mean to each other. While Ren gave her a mating mark, there was no hanky or panky even though they both felt mutual attraction. Four years later while Ren is investigating illegal activities, they meet again and sparks immediately fly. Emry needs his help to find her twin sister who is in danger and they get the chance to see each other for who they really are and find their HEA. Between the danger, steamy parts, and interactions with Havik (and Murder Mittens!) a great read is here to discover. Besides, I am a sucker for a witty banter and quirky humor.
Four years before, Ren, a Rolusdreus Mahdfel, and Emmarae, a Terran chef, were matched in the Mahdfel bride lottery. The warlord of Rem’s clan - psychpathis sadist that he was, “purged” weak humans and punished weak warriors, and Ren’s panic driven choice was to send his bride back to Earth with a botched mating bite and a promise she was free of him forever. Neither a scarred, angry, abandoned Emmarae, nor a despairing, self-exiled Ren, was left unhurt by the debacle that was their mating.Four years on, and fate intervenes to give two older, wiser, more mature mates the opportunity to do it over. There are still dangerous and frightening obstacles to overcome, which enriches and enlivens this book no end -and makes HEA all the sweeter. Here’s another addition to the voluntary ARC reviews for Ren.
Look, I know that I'm starting in the middle of a series at #11 but the synopsis clearly CLEARLY stated this is a stand alone. Yet, it references several previous characters, things that happened in other books and never clearly explains what is happening basically from the get go. Why say it's stand alone then??? Am I wrong????? At least set up a bit of the lore???? Don't claim it's stand alone!! Also just super mid and boring. And the FMC was dumb as fuck. Literally can't wait to talk about how ugly she is. Yet trying to act all tough. Girl, you're embarrassing yourself! Barffffff. Trashhhhh. Awful writing. All these positive reviews are arc reviews and can't be trusted at all. Skipping this series and since this is the second DNF in a row from these authors, this is the last book I will be trying from them.
Emry is doing the best she can, she still feels the cut of Ren's rejection, when he sent her packing back to Earth, but at least she doesn't have to go through that again. What would she do if their paths cross again though? Ren regrets sending his mate back to Earth, can he get a second chance if they meet again? Or will he choose duty over her again? I loved this alien romance, it gave me plenty of laughs, and I couldn't help but love both Ren (who makes mistakes, but has a good heart) and Emry (who has spirit even though she has been through a lot). I loved their story, and finding out more details on the what's and why. I am voluntarily reviewing a copy I received, and giving my thoughts and opinions on it.
This is the story of Ren and Emry. They were mated years before but didn’t live together due to his warlord at the time being anti earth women. Ren was afraid he might even have her killed. Fast forward, he’s left that clan and joined a new one where the warlord there has a human mate. Ren joined the clan as a sort of “spy”. While on a mission he encounters his mate. He has always kept up with her location and runs across her at a job she is currently working as a chef. And…it’s on. She needs his help locating her twin sister who has disappeared from earth without a trace. The story continues with the usual difficulties we encounter in these books. There are sexual scenes that may offend some readers.
Havik and Ren have always been my favorite two characters of this series. Ren finally has his story told and I LOVED IT! I always enjoy when a character grows as a person/mate. Ren is a cat loving sweetheart who made bad choices regarding his mate. Emry has had her heart broken but still persevered, working and supporting the emotional needs of Gemma. Fate of course intervenes and you have an intriguing story filled with mystery and romance. I liked that you get an “update” of previous characters. I also can’t wait until we get Gemma’s story. She is a firecracker! Great book readers! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Another great story in this series, well written and full of suspense. Ren thought he was protecting Emry when, four years ago, he made her his mate and then dropped her off back to Earth. Emry didn't know that his warlord at that time forced him to make a decision and she would have been killed if he hadn't taken her to Earth. Ren now has a second chance with Emry and will do anything he can to win her back. First he must help her find her twin sister and also take his ship back as Emry forced him into an escape pod with a gun. Ren makes it back to his ship and the fun and action begins. Love the happy ending!
Ren is on a mission and along the way runs into the bride he rejected for her own good. Emry is trying to survive and runs into Ren again while working. While it sounds simple, the story itself was hilarious and made me giggle a few times. Some of the scenes were outright a hoot, think Ren's pretty kitty. Mostly I was entertained and loved seeing a few characters from previous books too. Just a good fun story that was a great addition to the series that was fun to read. Found it easy to read and hard to put down.
I'm really loving the Warriors of Sangrin series. And this one was the sweetest I'm a total sucker for chance at love story and this one doesn't disappoint. Add in the action, intrigue, and steamy encounter and you have a helluva read. I also can't wait until we get Gemma's story. As always my reviews are totally voluntarily and no monetary compensation was received and the opinions I have expressed are completely my own.
REN is on a undercover mission to find out who funded illegal research. Now he’s has ran into his sort of ex mate. He had to send her away years ago to keep her safe from his old warlord. Emry is working for one of the people under that investigation she a personal chief. Then her ex shows up on the ship but acts like he doesn’t know het but she needs his help to find her sister. This starts them on a adventure. So enjoy and see how it works out!!
I loved the Warlord series,(this is one too) but these books were on another platform that I worked hard on to read, (purchased by $ and time with stupid long ads) and now, I can't read them there anymore but have to BUY them to be able to read again on kindle. It why 2 stars. I've reread several repeatedly, but now I have to start from scratch? Great author, but I'm not sure I like how she does business. There's nothing like giving your loyal readers the bird. I wouldn't mind buying them on Kindle in addition to having them on the other platform, but I think this is crap.
The chemistry between Emry and Ren is wonderful. The interaction between the characters is great, this story is filled with action and adventure. I can't wait for more from this author. I received this book ,as a FREE ARC copy to read and I voluntarily leave this review.
I love the Warriors of Sangrin series... and this is one of the sweetest! Really loved Ren.. and the cat! Loved that cat! Emry is a great character, too. She softened while staying strong. Great adventure and super romantic..
I loved Ren and Emry's second chance story. These two were great, and so were their escapades. Things really start to heat up for all the characters. I'm looking forward to more. *I was gifted an Arc for my honest opinion.*
I loved Ren, he may be the runt but he proved himself capable. There were fun moments too with the rest of the crew. I had so much fun reading Ren and Emry’s reconciliation that I have never noticed the time. Thank goodness it’s a holiday tomorrow.
I enjoyed reading this book. From the characters, the world building and the awesome feral cat, it drew me in, kept me engaged and entertained. You can’t ask for more. I look forward to reading Gemma’s story next.
Emry is a feisty human woman who is a chef so no slouch when her and her sister own and in a bakery on earth. Ren is Emry's matched mate who rejects her under order of his warlord. It is all messy but perhaps through the trials love conquers all.
Enjoyed this book. The story mentioned or included many characters from the previous books so there is a connection between all of the characters. Zalis, the chosen Warrior, has a story I can’t wait to read. Nancey, waiting
Ren and Emery fight for all they have. I loved the story...Can't wait for more. But holy smoly does Ms. Cummings have to fight some characters to behave
I loved that both the characters were strong fighters. I loved that they lived that about eachother. High drama, low angst, plenty of action! A great read!
I am such a sucker for a second chance romance and contract marriages. This story checks all the boxes and then some. Such a sweet, sexy, story, with growth and a space chef. So much to love.
