Excerpt:

Nalini let out a relieved sigh. Only to pause and inhale, lifting her nose to the air. “Why does it smell so strongly of Earth in here?” She sniffed some more. “Louisiana, specifically. Yes. I’m catching the slightest hint of Creole.”

“That…” Across the room, Dori cleared her throat and lifted a cautious hand. “That would be me.”
Nalini turned slowly and stared at her without moving. Then she gave a warning hiss and flung out her hand, palm facing the earthling.

Dori yelped in surprise as she flew backward across the room until her spine hit the far wall, where she hung suspended, pinned with her bare feet dangling a good three feet above the ground.

She gasped as if choking and clawed at her throat, where Nalini’s powers must be holding her in place.

The chemistry between Unity and Olivander was scorching. I admired Unity's dedication to Olivander and her overall tough persona. She was a fascinating mixture of emotional vulnerability and strong protectiveness. Unity was utterly loyal to those she loved and determined to care for them at all costs. Olivander, on the other hand, was loyal, but I didn't like his occasional doubts and attraction to other women. He was still possessive, protective, and a solid alpha male, but I didn't absolutely adore him. I prefer some of Kage's other heroes.

The secondary characters were really great though. I enjoyed Dori and Nalini and Erick with his family. However, the book was a bit too heartbreaking for me. I'm okay with a little bit of sadness to see the characters grow stronger on the other side, but there seemed to be an unnecessary amount of grief at the end of the novel. It really dampened my happiness for the characters, even though the conclusion was well done and the entire premise of the book was fascinating. I just expected a greater amount of joy for Unity and Olivander after everything they went through.

Overall, this was a wonderfully romantic, emotional tale. I highly recommend it and will anxiously await the next book in the series, though I warn anyone planning to read this book to be prepared for some torturously sad moments.

*I received an ARC of this novel. This is my complete and honest review.*

Whew. I think I got through this with the pieces of my soul mostly intact.

After Mark of Love, I was terrified to read this and only Linda's alluring writing was what made me pick it up. I went into it expecting the worst possible things that could happen.

I don't think I'll elaborate on that point.

Anyway, I loved Unity and Vander and I absolutely adored Dori which just makes me even more scared for her because I think it's her book that will conclude this whole series. The plot was well developed as usual and we get a full history of what's been going on in this book. I loved that each book gave us pieces of the puzzle and we've gotten closer and closer to the end of the ride. It's just so nerve wracking at this point and like I keep repeating, I'm terrified (but also truly excited) to see how this plays out.

4.5/5 would totally reread.

What gives, Linda? Why did you need to do me like that? I was enjoying it going along. We got to about 80% and I was in shock the rest of the book through the novella. I don't think I can be happy again. Slightly moving on and then that novella!!! I'm hurt. And I don't hurt easy. I don't know if I want this series to continue because I'm enjoying it so much or to stop because it broke me.

4 -CÓMO QUE SOLO QUEDA UN LIBRO???!!!!-estrellas

I really like this series and this book is probably my favourite so far because they both had so much love and trust for and faith in each other. I loved them as a couple.

But please, PLEASE don't kill people just to make the main couple king and queen in the end. Or at least don't make it this obvious. It already bugged me when Calder was killed in the first book but then we never really got to like him and his extreme prejudice against magic was not good for anyone. But ERICK? AND HIS WHOLE FAMILY? We've gotten to love them throughout several books and I would kind of understand if an attempted coup like that could end up with at least some family members being dead. But please at least try to make it seem like the reign of our MCs is the only reason behind it. Mention some general mayhem, maybe (please, oh please) spare the children. Their deaths served no purpose in the story. It almost feels like an HEA for the main couple needs to include them becoming the rulers of a kingdom. It totally worked for Nicolette. It did not work for the scholarly prince. I hate this part of the ending.

Two other things bug me. Firstly, these books include some really traumatic stuff but the characters always seem to get over that extremely quickly. I just feel like we're back to a very cheerful tone really quickly after rape and murder.

Secondly, can we have a few reunions. It often feels like the MCs forget about all their friends and family once they connect to their loved ones. I loved Allera as a supporting character but she kind of disappeared halfway through the book. I loved Nicolette and Indigo's friendship but then he sensed his mate and just left, forever. And it's ok for him to do that and be happy with that decision after I wished there had been a few mentions of missing her and farrow and his other friends and family. And in this book I would have liked to have a mention of inviting Urban and Allera to their wedding, or maybe some better diplomatic relationships between Donnelly and Far Shore because of Nicolette. The main couple need some private time, but please don't take them out of the world you have created.

Wait for love is the fourth book in the love mark series by linda kage

The book is about Unity and Olivander who together try to help Dori a girl from earth who was sent to the other kingdoms to reward the departure of Indy and her soul mate, later we find out that Dori carries the blood of a Graykey and our protagonists will do everything to save her, in addition to breaking the curse that has been harming the family and kimgdom for years.

My favorite part of the book was the explanation of the world, I loved that it started from the Salem witches. In addition to the relationship of our three protagonists, see their friendship grow throughout the book.

About Unity and Olivander's relationship I'm still not entirely sure if I love them or not, since I didn't connect much with them.

Dori was my favorite character here the way she behaves, her intelligence and her powers enchanted me.

There are many secrets, betrayals, intrigue and magic if you are a fan of SJM and Game of thrones this book is for you

I was a bit hesitant to read this book honestly. At the end of the previous book, Mark of Love, it seemed as if Wait for Love was going to turn into a love triangle situation, and I am not a fan of those at all. Despite my hesitancy I was also eager to read because Linda has never disappointed me with any of her books, and this one didn't disappoint either. Her characters in this book are so well written, developed and full of life. All of the challenges and hardships the main love interests have had to face since their love marks recognized each other is incredible. I have always loved Linda's heroines because they are all pretty bad ass, and let me tell you Unity is one kick ass chick! Olivander is so sweet and just the ultimate book boyfriend. He definitely has some extreme domineering traits, but to me that makes him sexier.
These books have developed in an incredible way. They have everything you might want in a fantasy book with just the right amount of spicy that I love! I love this books story it has made me ask more questions of what is really going on in the Outer Realms. This book more then the others has added an element of mystery that I absolutely enjoy, I love being able to go on this journey with these characters to figure out how to save everyone from the Graykey curse.
This book to me was all consuming and very enjoyable. I love all of Linda's books and this is no different, she has a way of capturing your attention very quickly and keeping it to the very last word on the very last page. I recommend this book to anyone who loves fantasy or Linda Kage books and if you like both, this book should definitely be on your must read list!
Oh and for those of you that also don't like love triangle situations, don't worry, none of that in here! Happy reading all!

In Wait for Love, Unity and Ollivander have been soul mates for all of Unity’s life, but they haven’t seen each other for the last 8 years. When Unity is given the chance to return to Ollivander, the two must come to terms with the changes in their relationship and what that means for their future.

I got this book as an ARC from BookSirens, and the reason I picked it is because the author presented a situation where there is a significant age gap between two soul mates, and I wanted to see how they dealt with that. I like to read books with similar situations to the ones I’d like to write in the dream book that I keep plotting, but never get around to writing, much less finishing. I like to see how other people handle it.

I ultimately found Wait For Love to be a good read for the main plot, but the background stuff presents an issue. For one, this book is part of a series and it feels like Linda Kage, the author, spends too much time getting you caught up to appreciate that they at least tried to make it work as a standalone. There’s also the juxtaposition of having a character from what is supposed to be Earth in 2020 having to come to terms with being stuck whatever medieval fantasy time period this series is setting in. In theory, it should be funny, but in practice it's a bit jarring.

Ultimately, I did enjoy Wait For Love, and I think it’s a nice addition to the Soul Mate/Soul Mate-Identifying Marks trope, especially because the summary wants you to think that they won’t get together in the end. (It is obvious that they will so I don’t consider that a spoiler.) I would recommend it to those who like those tropes for research.

So, this is my first book from the series that I read. I know, I should've started with One True Love but better late than never. Because, let me tell you, after I read this, I definitely will read the other three books and be waiting for the next one with dying breath.
I love it! And Linda's writing style made me fall in love with Olivander and Unity. Not knowing exactly what the series' story is, I went bullhead into it. At first, I was intrigued that a mysterious woman comes in and steals Olivander's heart, knowing that he already found his true love. I mean, isn't the mark of love working anymore? But rest assure that no triangle love is this about! More like true love always finding its piers no matter magic or human intervention.
As you read in the blurb, this is Olivander's and Unity's love story. This two stole my heart. Olivander has found his true love early in life, at only 13 years old, and has cared for Unity just as a father does. But Unity wants to go to study and to do that she must travel to another land to University. As time passes, Unity grows into a wonderful and very beautiful woman. Through some circumstances, she finds out that Olivander is in danger and rushes to his help. How will Olivander react when he sees Unity after all these years and how is he dealing with his new lust for this mysterious woman? For that, you must read Wait for Love and I promise you, you won't regret it!

✨ I can't believe I didn't read this sooner (totally my fault).

At first I had no idea how I should felt towards the main couple. It was... An interesting relationship they have.

You see, in the Outer Realms, they have a mark that can tell you your one true love. But in this case, Prince Olivander met his true love when he was 13... And there's an age gap of 13 years. You see where I'm going? Thank God nothing happened and Olivander actually thought of her as his daughter, which is even more strange if you think about it.

Again, thank God, Olivander sent Unity -his one true love- to an Academy far away from his kingdom and never saw her again. He was also concerned he could never see her as a woman.

When they see each other again, Olivander does not recognize Unity and she take this as an advantage to prove that they are actual soulmates and they have to be together as a couple.

Not only that but they are facing something that the Outer Realms never faced before and it's threatening the entire world.

What I'm trying to say it's: I really liked the story and you have to have an open mind to really understand this two characters. They're not kinky in that way (which I'm thankful for) but it's complicated.

And Dori... I love her, can wait to read her story. 😭❤️

Also... why, why, why, why, why Linda had to write that ending? I did not see those final chapters coming and then I spent almost an entire hour crying. 😭

🤍ARC REVIEW🤍

4.5

Unity and Olivander have a mark that unites them as soul mates.

But things aren't so easy, they both are separated by a gap of 13 years, so Unity is sent away to a girls' school where she will learn and acquire knowledge.

It has been almost 9 years since the last time Unity and Olivander saw each other, the only communication they shared was through letters.

As fate would have it, Unity is thrown next to Olivander looking a little different; therefore it is impossible for him to recognize her when they are face to face.

I enjoyed this book so much, Linda set out to do a whole backstory to the plot, and she succeeded. At first I was a little desperate because Olivander didn't recognize his mate, until as the chapters went on I understood why. And honestly, I think it totally worked.

It was interesting to discover a new world from 0. I got frustrated, laughed and let out a tear or two. Definitely Wait ir for Love is an amazing read to hang out and disconnect you from the current world to travel through time and meet a new world.

I am a big fan of The Love Mark series by Linda Kage. It is other worldly and a great fantasy romance series.

CW: threat of sexual assault

I was intrigued by Olivander, Ollie, and Unity's story. I wondered how their relationship would progress from Ollie as a caretaker to Unity, to the two of them together. I think that the glamour to change Unity's appearance and hide her presence was the perfect way for the two of them to start fresh and ensure that the feelings they had weren't twisted.

The weaving of humor and the threat of the world ending made this dark story lighter. I think that Unity and Ollie ended up being a great match intellectually for each other. They complemented each other and I loved watching them learn how to be together.

This was a fast paced story, that left me heartbroken and excited to see what will come next with Dori's story. I love the Love Mark world and am excited to see where Linda takes us next!

Thank you to the author for the gifted copy in exchange for an honest review

Wait For Love was a fascinating addition to the Love Mark Fantasy series which I tore through, one after the other. I have greatly enjoyed how each book in the series has presented a variation on the possible romantic pairings that result from the love mark and the differing complications that can arise from an unexpected love match. I especially enjoyed the story of Olivander and Unity and appreciated how their relationship was based so strongly on protecting and caring for one another, even more heavily than the unconditional love and devotion that previous couple in the series experienced and with a slightly less carnal focus as the previous books… though I’m glad there was still a healthy dose of heat between them.
My only reason for reducing my rating by one star is that the overall tone and language of all books in the series initially turned me off a bit. The dialogue in particular feels very modern and out of place for the feeling that the world building gives off. I almost gave up on the first book for this reason, but the premise intrigued me enough to keep reading and I’m so glad that I did because I very much enjoy this whole series despite my initial aversion to the tone. I would love to read many more stories in this series and I look forward to reading other books by Linda Kage as well.
